Great place! The experience of going there is awesome. There was a tortoise out eating a cucumber, suuuper cool. It’s clear the staff is knowledgeable and cares about the animals. This is definitely not your average pet store. I felt good about purchasing my hedgehog from here. Ben was very informative, 5 stars.

I have bought so many different types of animals from NJ exotic pets!! From spiders to geckos, bearded dragons, rats, guinea pigs and even the most adorable baby pig. It’s always an amazing experience and the staff is super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly Especially Ben! He’s the man. I’ve been going here for years since the first location and he’s always been my go to guy for any thing my wife or I may need or want. You can call him at any time of the day when you have a question or issue and he will walk you through any thing you may need help with step by step. I would highly recommend anyone taking a trip to NJ exotic pets to ask for Ben and he will guide you in the right direction to finding the perfect animal, enclosure, food or toys etc. He has a vast knowledge of everything to do with almost any animal in the store and he has a true passion for what he does. that always makes the experience better when you know the person helping you will give you the proper tips and care guide to successfully take care of your animal and feel confident doing so. If you need anything invertebrate related be sure to ask for mike. He’s my go to guy for most things spider/invertebrate related. He has great knowledge of anything and everything to do with spiders, roaches, millipedes, mantids etc. he’s even kind enough to let you know when new shipments of certain species you’re looking for comes in if you just leave your number with him or at the desk. This place is truly a blessing to animal lovers they have everything you can think of and if they don’t chances are they may be able to make it happen and order it for you!

I’ve gotten a few of my pets from NJ exotics. All healthy. They have everything you need for reptiles, amphibians, small mammals and so much more! I can’t stop smiling when I’m here. Open wide isles. Enclosures are natural and clean. The staff is awesome! Friendly and knowledgeable. It’s 100% worth the trip. This place is no joke.

Really great pet store, had to get sugar gliders as I lost one recently and needed a friend for my other glider. Ended up getting 2 from them, they were super busy and dealing with an issue so I had to wait a bit but the store is pretty big so plenty to look at. The owner is very knowledgeable and really pleasant to talk too. She took care of everything with the gliders making sure their nails were trimmed and even said I could bring them if I needed help with it down the road. She even gave me a few tips for clipping the nails without to much trouble. Highly suggest them for your exotic pet needs they really seem to care about the animals.

LOVE IT! You get to check out many different animals and can purchase a variety of animal food. It's the only place I have seen mini pigs for sale. Awesome store.

NJ Exotic Pets is a Great Place to Shop or Just Visit!! This has become one of my Favorite Go To places!! There is A Lot Going On with there Large Variety of Small Animals, Reptiles & Birds. It is like walking into a Barn and Jungle all at the same time!!😃🐭🐰🐸🐷🦎🐍🦂🦗🪱🦜🦝🦨🦔🐉💚 The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. We especially enjoy Benjamin. He is always helpful and encouraging. Benjamin always greets us with a smile & when it come to making purchases he is an Expert advisor. He gives us the confidence to take on the responsibility of caring for all the Beautiful Critters we have purchased so far!! An amazing pet place, there is a great variety of animals and they all seem pretty happy and lots of space, and the staff seem very passionate and knowledgeable about the animals too! I got a flame leg Tarantula here like last week, and she's doing amazing. I recommend this place a lot!

I was helped tremendously by both Ben and Tristan! They were attentive and super kind. The store is always a delight to visit as the atmosphere, decorations, and animals are grade A. Tristan was so nice and eager to help when my friend and I decided to adopt some guinea pigs (he even cleaned up all the included supplies for us!) Ben was very helpful and informative about the whole process. I truly recommend this place to find some exotic pets and supplies! Everyone on the staff is super welcoming and well informed! Here is a picture of some ferrets they currently have for adoption there :) This place is awesome and they help so many surrendered animals.

I could spend hours in this store! Zoo quality set-ups. A huge variety of exotic pets! They all look healthy & happy. The enclosures were immaculately clean. I'm SO excited that I found this place!! Can't wait to go back when I have more time!

Great place, truly impressive pet store. Young boy with the Hollywood blonde hair is ahead of his time with customer service. I should've asked him for his name. I was looking for an all black chinchilla and I purchased two baby chinchillas (one a week apart from each other) here about a month ago. They honored their discount of $50 off if you purchase two of them. Both are happy and healthy cute little things. There is so much to check out in this place with so many different kinds of exotic animals and products to choose from. The environment seems a bit chaotic and busy with very few staff to assist at a time. I’d recommend calling ahead if you’re looking for a specific animal to see if it’s in stock. Overall, pleasant experience and I’m happy with my chinchillas.

NJ, exotic pets is the best pet store in the whole state. You can get anything from Skunks, toucans, snakes, insects, birds, bunnies, even sugar gliders. They have literally every exotic animal that you could imagine with the exception of fish. The staff is great and accommodating plus they are subject matter experts on all things animal related. You can also get supplies and food for all pets Shoutout to Megan and Will! Very professional, friendly, and patient with you. They also take care of all repeat guests and build a sense of family between you and your pets. I always recommend this place over everywhere else.

We ended up fostering a female chameleon from a lady. We did not know. She did not look well when we got her home She was extremely thirsty and hungry. We wanted to get her checked out because we were nervous on how she was acting so we brought her to a Xtreme Pets. We are from Connecticut Megan from extreme pets was extremely helpful. She told us how to take care of her how to help her what to help her with what she should eat to get more proteins and other nutrients that she needed. She taught us so much while we were there and everyone else in that store were amazing help they were all very knowledgeable, friendly helpful everything you could think of. The best best pet store that we have ever been to.

If I could give this place more stars I would. We purchased 4 rats this weekend and they are so healthy, clean, and the sweetest boys in the world. They were locally bred and I cannot stress this enough, HEALTHY! The staff person who helped us was kind, patient and made our experience that much better. We will be coming here for all of our pet supply needs instead of big box retailers from now on!

A friend recommended NJ exotics, and this shop did not disappoint! The staff, especially Ryan, was helpful, knowledge and friendly. They spent a long time making sure we were all set up for our new baby beardie, and were so patient with all of our questions. The selection of bearded dragons was impressive, of all different colors, sizes and types. If we didn’t live so far, I think we would want to go back soon just to check out all the other animals! I highly recommend this store to anyone in the market for an exotic pet!

Never have seen a place like this. There are so different species of animals in there I thought I was in a zoo. Oh and the employee's are very helpful and knowledgeable. You got to visit it's AWESOME 🦜

I had such a great time at this store! I’ve always wanted a bird in my life but was too nervous to bite the bullet. I even bought Velcro wings for my corgi but it just didn’t fill the void in my heart. Tiffany was amazing and was so helpful, thanks to her my corgi doesn’t need to pretend to be a parrot anymore.

Great place for picking up stuff for the non- traditional pets. Fair prices, knowledgeable staff and best of all lots of animals to buy and ADOPT!!! Photos are of baby skunks that will soon be available to take home❤️

I absolutely love this store, it's the best pet store in the area by far! They have a huge diversity of different species of reptiles, birds and small animals and all the supplies you need for them! I've been going here since there old location and it's great to see how much they have grown in their new location. It's always alot of fun to walk around the store and see all the amazing animals they have there. Ben, one of the employees, was incredibly helpful when I purchased a pair of sugar gliders to keep an older glider of mine company. They are super sweet and healthy and I will definitely return when I want to add another member to my family!

I’m obsessed with my new skinny pigs! Ryan and Megan gave me so much helpful information on the care and requirements for my new piggies and were patient answering my questions and letting us hold them before buying. I love it that they are bred in house so I know they’re getting the best care from the very beginning. Both piggies have very sweet personalities and began eating and getting comfortable as soon as I put them in their cage. This is my first time to NJ exotic but I’ll def be back. They also clip their nails no charge.

Absolutely wonderful we bought a little parakeet! The staff was amazing. Kind helped us educated us and was willing to help in anyway they could.! so many different animals to see, and all so well taken care of what a great place!!!!

I was so impressed of the knowledge and care the staff had. The man with the auburn beard (who also liked Pokémon) was very kind to us and shared a lot of his insights about hedgehog care. I am thinking about purchasing one, and would def go here to do so. I'm a big fan of the efforts they do to ensure more ethical purchase of animals as well.

My bf and I drove over an hour away to visit exotic pets! My goal was to purchase rats but instead we adopted an adorable chinchilla named Felix! What a cutie! (And a few Halloween hissing cockroaches hehe) I want to say thanks to all the staff members at nj exotic pets, everyone we met was incredibly knowledgeable, humble and honest! I went fun place to be really nice they do adoptions the lady who owns the store was really nice and helpful and i bought a sign I never saw anywhere also had plants i never saw anywhere else the owner helped me choose the right one and she also told me how to take care of it and even watered the plant before I left and some other thing and most importantly the animals look happy and healthy!!
