Had a baby here. L&D nurses were wonderful. I had a bad epidural experience the first time with a lot of different anesthetists in the room, and I don't know why that was. That epidural also didn't work. But the second epidural I got was a bit better for helping with pain. Ultimately I needed a c-section anyway after all that trouble, which anesthetist Chris made sure I was good and numb for. The OR staff was great for the surgery and made it a fun experience for me. I thought the food was delicious. My hospital rooms I stayed in during my delivery experience were well equipped and modern and comfortable. Only thing I was put off by in the hospital was a few of the public restrooms I used were outdated/rundown looking and some stall doors don't shut. The rest of the hospital looks so nice, they should consider remodeling the public restrooms. Overall I had a good experience.

The registration process was extremely slow and I arrived early and was late for my scheduled appointment. They really needed help and more staffing. Plus when I got back for my ct scan I had to wait for the receptionist to finish her texting on her private phone. They could not be bothered with patient care. So sad.

I took my mother for a stress test( the injection type) as part of surgery clearance. My mother is a nervous person to begin with and every call we received about the appointment, we were told to be 15 minutes earlier ( with 3 calls, ultimately 45 minutes; and yes the times were stated). We arrived when we were told despite having to have to walk a very long way to the testing area( she has very bad knees). We waited for about an hour til they took her back( exacerbating her anxieties). A nurse or tech, I do not know ,was very rude to my mother, older with dark or black hair. My mom told me about it later as I would’ve made a big deal about it. Another young lady, this one for a CT scan at the desk, was absolutely delightful. There was a mix- up or misplaced information and this dark, curly, long-haired young lady was so considerate and really went above and beyond to get this done as my mom was tired and very uncomfortable after the stress test. Not happy with the stress test people overall, but the CT scan staff were exceptionally good, kind, compassionate, and efficient.

I went in for a cervical disk replacement and much as I loved my surgeons, I will never go back to this hospital. The nursing staff was absolutely horrible. And yes I know everywhere is short staffed. But they had no clue what medications I was suppose to be getting even after the doctor, myself and my children going over them with them on 4 different occasions. They also didn't follow my doctors instructions on providing my with leg compression socks, a neck brace and ice pack on my neck. My son had to go out and purchase me a ice bag because the nurses after finally be told to get me ice packs only provided me with surgical gloves with ice which leaked and got me and my bedding all wet. And when I me brought it to the nurses attention they just said ok and never came back to change my bedding or my clothing. It was a absolutely nightmare with the staff there. I will never go back there.

5 stars for doctors, nurses and facilities. 0 for the Emergency room. My wife had emergency surgery here. We had great experiences with doctors and nurses. But the ER experience was really bad. We waited for 4 hours in the ER room. It's not the wait time that bothered me. But the way ER staff was dismissive of my wife's condition/pain and how they were not taking it seriously. I went to tell one of the nurses/staff that my wife's pain is increasing and spreading to other parts. Staff said (yelled actually) "you told us 10 times. Stop telling us" (This was my second time telling them after waiting for hours. And I am not making this up. This is the exact response that we got. ). I can understand them being short staffed . But don't take that out on patients in serious pain and their relatives. We weren't treated well in the ER room. If I had recorded these conversations, I would have totally tried to sue them. If you go to the ER room here, be prepared to wait and maybe get yelled at if you ask for help.

Testing went smoothly. Did not have a long wait. The women that performed the testing was personable and knowledgeable. The only thing I did not like was them asking for a payment upfront based on thier estimate of what my insurance would not cover. No thanks...if I overpay it takes forever to get a refund. Bill me and I will pay it.

If I can give a below five stars, I would. My uncle has been waiting to have surgery done for over a week now. Keeps getting postponed last minute because of the doctor is not available. Worst care ever. I will be removing him from that hospital completely once all is said and done

The care and service here is good. This is my observations in the emergency department. top choices. staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The doctor was also very professional even under heavy workload. Overall I hate to recommend an emergency department if I had to go it would be one of my top

The Nurses were super nice and experienced. The Dr Scrabola was totally amazing. The man came to check on me after the procedure and you can tell he cares about people. I had a great experience with the Endoscopy Team.

First, the test I had went extremely well and the staff I dealt with were just incredible. From check-in, to exiting, all of the staff were super nice and helpful. However, scheduling the test was just a nightmare, on hold for 22 minutes only to be told “I will take a message for the schedulers and they will call you back “. What kind of system is that? I was private pay, yet I never received the test results and neither did my PCP, which were promised. I abhor health care in this region which is why I never seek anything life threatening here. I just had surgery in Philadelphia because our medical care in the Wyoming Valley is outdated and archaic.

I went to the emergency room with chest pains. The “kept” me overnight but I was not admitted. Huh?? Nope. They call it observation so they can send you a hospital bill AND a bill for the emergency room. Then I had a stress test and got a copay bill from the doctor who read my scan…. Who I never even saw. It’s a total scam. And when you attempt to pay what you can afford, they threaten to report you to credit bureau. Beware of the General Hospital scam. Total screw job.

You have a wonderful hospital. Well organized and a staff that seems to care about our well being. I must mention an ER nurse, named Chris. His strong observations, quick wit and speedy actions, saved me from a dangerous situation. My thanks to everyone.

A very broad question. The two who initially received you and asked you to sit and wait need to work on being more polite. It took 45 minutes to be registered. Only 1 out of 6 stations was operating. The person who did the actual registration was good. The technical nurse who performed the echocardiogram, Paula, was excellent!

Dr Mouallem is outstanding! He is so thorough and explains things in such great detail to my 93 year old husband and I. He takes all precautions for our health. His expertise plus his kindness is exemplary!

Had to go to the Emergency Room in Wilkes-Barre in room Fast Track 29, on September 9th 2023...with my youngest, the only person to come and see me was the woman from Registration. In two and a half hours of waiting. No one came to see if my son needed anything, there was blood on the floor also. I am not pleased to say the least. If I could give a ZERO Star rating I would!!! We are talking about a five year old with a damn concussion! Two hours went with no word from no one.

I was admitted at the Wilkes Barre General hospital on the 7th floor. I must commend all the nurses for their hard work and patience. They were all very kind, and compassionate. They responded quickly to my needs. Special kudos to my nurses Holly, Sam, Kelly. Also Kudos to Mario Adajar for trying to make the best with the limited staff he has.

The surgical staff, nurses, anesthesiologist, etc, were all extremely nice and knowledgeable. Once I went to the recovery room on 7th floor the staff were equally as great. I felt that I received top level care yesterday.

Not pleased with my care. I have seen two doctors three times in the last ten days. I have had multiple tests done - bloodwork, ultrasounds - and not one doctor has called me to let me know my results. These tests were done because I have been sick. I can see the results online but I guess the days when my doctor called me to discuss the results with me are long gone. Looking for a new doctor.

The offices are very clean and the staff is very friendly and efficient. I came to my appointment very early, but the nurse practitioner made sure to come to the room I was in to be sure I was comfortable and let me know he would be with me shortly. I am so glad I am a patient here.

As usual, process of registering went very smoothly and all personnel were polite and efficient. Technicians were careful to make me comfortable as they did my CT scan. I have never had a bad experience at Saxton.

I was admitted here on Sunday and I had a nurse on my floor. I was in room 254 She is amazing. Her name is Ali little short nurse with so much compassion and love in her heart. I can’t believe that there was somebody as sweet as her. Thank you Ali so much for all that you have done today. She was not my nurse, but she brought me Italian ice anyway thank you Allison and God bless you always honey. I hope that you get to see this

Extremely friendly staff! All my nurses had such a positive attitude and were extra helpful. I would highly recommend going to the wound care specialist if you are ever in need of such care.

I had an appointment for my yearly mammogram. My appointment was for 7:30 am. The registration went quickly. The technologist was friendly and professional. I was out of the facility before my scheduled appointment which was great as I was not late for work!!

I went to the Mountain Top clinic for my annual psa? draw and was greeted very professionally but cordially and within 10 minutes my paperwork was completed and no sooner than I got into the waiting room I was escorted into the lab room. As I engaged in some pleasant conversation with the technician I never felt the needle go in and my sample was drawn. This technician is an Ace in my book and I’ll return to this clinic anytime Well Done

A family member was hospitalized a few months ago. I emailed someone in the hospital trying to nominate an employee for some type of award already and never got a response, so i wanted to make sure to post it here. While there was PLENTY of questionable nurses and management, the multiple encounters my family had with one of the nursing aides made us feel much more at ease. The Aide on the 6 east floor that came in for night shift was absolutely amazing and i feel as tho she deserves this recognition. She constantly went above and beyond for not only my family member, but anyone who was in to visit her. She was more than knowledgeable, and constantly on top of things while the nurses seemed they were too busy to look our way. She made us feel a hundred times more comfortable leaving my grandmother in the hospital at nights alone. She WILL make an amazing nurse someday!

Very disappointing, frustrating and aggravating. Folks were kind and friendly but running over an hour late. Since - yesterday - I received correspondence from Commonwealth advising my CTA Chest scan revealed the need for follow up with my Commonwealth Physician AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. My Physician received the test results over a week ago and has not contacted me. As such I suspect he does not believe the tests reveal anything unanticipated or he would have called me. I did call today but no one in the office was capable of reviewing the test results and hopefully someone will be able to get back to me tomorrow. In sum I do not believe my physician has created this problem. I really think your office needs to conduct some check or information exchange with the physician before sending such worrisome and anxiety creating correspondence to patients. This is intended as constructive input. I hope you will consider the difficulty this has created for one of your patients and avoid the hopefully unnecessary anxiety I am enduring wondering if I have a serious heart issue. Thank you.

The girls at registration at 1pm Saturday were fantastic! Helpful friendly informative. Ultrasound tech also the same On the other side, I have called my dr 4 times concerning ultrasound, and have yet to have anyone call about course of action. Also 2 of my labs are complete and not posted on my portal

My appointment was for 9:30 got there early at 9:00. No one ever came out to see who was there I didn't know I walked into the room and told them I was there. At one point there was a code blue which I understand that they take precedent. But I also got bumped because someone came at the wrong time. They were scheduled for the afternoon and they didn't understand English well. I didn't go in for my procedure until almost 12:30. I didn't leave until after 1:30. Now I have a special needs son who I had to be home for which I had to scramble to find someone to meet him at my home which isn't easy. I didn't think for a half hour procedure I would be there for 4 hours. Again a code blue is understandable but being bumped for the other person not understandable. Other than the wait the people were great.

Very good experience. Very busy at same day surgery center. I had a cyst removed and I was very anxious about surgery but it was fast and completely removed. Everyone at same day surgery center were very professional and positive. And the nurses were very helpful and supportive. Dr. Palumbo is excellent orthopedic surgeon. Thank you to everyone working that day for the excellent care. I’m healing very well after one week.

I went for a cat scan. Everything went efficiently, the technician and the doctor did a great job. I needed contrast which the doctor injected in the joint space of my right shoulder, it went very quickly. It hurt only a little bit. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

In town on Business, I hurt myself and needed X-rays. I was a bit nervous when I left a clinic and headed to the Hospital for x-rays after 6pm; the last thing I wanted to do was spend hours in the Emergency room. Thankfully Ms. Sherry was working Admissions, among other things, after hours. She was happy to help and made sure everything was done right the first time to ensure my x-rays were done "stat". Mr. Frost came around with a wheelchair and got me down to x-ray in quick fashion. He has been doing his job for 30+ years and you can tell, he had me in and out in no time! These two Precious People do their job with TLC and I appreciate them immensely. Without a doubt they are Assets to this Hospital. Thank you so much for making my unfortunate situation bearable! Y'all are Fantastic!

Sat in the waiting room for 6 hrs with a burst appendix while everyone with lesser issue's were seen and released. For example kid with swollen ankle, lady with coughing child, man with no apparent reason for admittance. Finally left cause was never called for even vitals to be taken. Returned following morning after Urgent care stated must be seen by the hospital. Sat for another 5hrs even with Urgent care calling and telling hospital, should be seen immediately. Finally officially admitted to the hospital 8hr later to be put on antibiotics only. Stayed on hospital for 5 days and appendix was never removed or even abscess drained. Worst experience ever.

Dr. Vohra is a wonderful doctor. She takes the time to listen and explain any questions or procedures to you and also the reasoning behind what she says. Another thing that she does that I appreciate is that she won't give a test/scan/prescription simply because "that's the way things have always been done." She gives you options, which is important. She's an ideal mix of old-school medicine with new-school thinking. My wife & I were reluctant about getting a new PCP after ours retired, but we're thankful that we gave her a chance.

Although I had a long wait due to staff shortage, once seen, I had exceptional care. My nurse, Holly, was pleasant and observant. She checked in with me often until test results became available. The PA went out of her way to find a solutions to my difficulties. We are fortunate to have a caring and knowledgeable ER hospital in our area. Thank you, everyone, who assisted me in my time of medical need.

This hospital is severely understaffed. They have 2 floors shut down due to staffing issues. The staff is nice but over worked. Spent 3 days in there . Spent them on an uncomfortable er bed and in a very small er room. The bathrooms are only cleaned once a day. This hospital at one time was a great hospital. Ever since they were taken over by commonwealth health it is a shame. The nurses I had were great, the docs were good. But that are seriously overworked, Greed ruins everything.

I went to the hospital for a total hip replacement. I arrived at 8, they were short staffed and I was only checked in at 9;25 because the orthopedic floor was calling for me, because my surgeon was ready for. Once I got to my room, the nurses,Brook and Kim were absolutely the greatest . Truly very professional, kind, considerate and very comforting, as I was very nervous. Those two ladies had me ready for surgery in no time. A hour went by waiting for transport to take me to the operating room. Again lack of employees…finally my surgeon showed up and took me to the o.r.. Everyone in the operating room were Great! When I got back to my room,my nurses then Chris, Diane and Bobby were super great. My physical therapist Eric and Chris really got me moving within the first hour after my surgery, I walked about 150 yards! The fourth floor orthopedic wing is an exceptional group of fine tuned group of professional, well trained ,compassionate individuals. Absolutely made my stay easier! The hospital needs to hire more people to check you in and more transport personnel. The food could be better!

I was slotted to check in by 8:00 am, procedure scheduled for 10:00. Arrived at 7:40, was finally called back to the registrar at 8:45. Registrar was very nice, apologized for the long wait to check in. Went back for prep which was quick and efficient. Was finally brought back for my procedure at 11:30. Procedure went smoothly. Brought into recovery which the nurse was great. Then they brought me back down to short stay. There I waited over 2 hours to be discharged. So to say I was there from 7:40 to 4:00 seems a bit long for a 30 minute procedure. Care was great but plan on a long day.

I had to have a procedure done and everyone was helpful and accommodating. Very professional. The endoscopy department was amazing. I felt well-informed and at ease. The nurses, anesthesiologist, and Dr. went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable.

I had rotator cuff surgery at the short stay unit of this facility and I was extremely pleased with the care I received from registration to discharge. They took excellent care of me and were very attentive throughout pre-op and recovery. The only issue I encountered was with the wait time for a wheelchair upon discharge. However, the attending nurse expedited the process when she saw that I was still waiting after 30 minutes. Given the amount of patients they see in this facility on a daily basis, I really don’t think this is a big issue, since they continued to check on me as I was waiting.

I have had 2 child birth experiences here, 4 years apart and both times were great. The doctors and staff are truly awesome. They try to make you feel as comfortable as possible and help any way necessary. I definitely recommend labor and delivery RN Cindy. She's AMAZING! All of the women are but we had Cindy for both visits and I'm so grateful she was there to really help walk us through everything and help my delivery go as smooth as possible!

After my surgery i was in short term recovery for two nights. The nurses there were amazing they took really good care of me and made it a lot easier for me to feel comfortable and go home. I felt like i had an amazing team and even one of the nurses that was not part of my team was really helpful with the information she provided me to help with my recovery. Thank you to the team for everything.

Staff was courteous and helpful. The medical personal was efficient. The only complaint is that I had to find my own way to radiology with less than detailed directions Since I have never been in the new General, it was difficult for this 82 yr old UPDATE: I got a call from the hospital and the rep assured me this would be fixed. The next week when we went back, it was fixed.

Very friendly, knowledgeable and competent. The Doctor who read my test deserves much praise. Even though it was a heart test he/she found a lump in my breast. I had a mammogram and scan and it is suspicious. I have a biopsy on July 10th. I don’t know how this will turn out, but I will owe my life to that person. I hope you can find out who it was and tell them what happened. My Doctor said that it was amazing it was found since at this point it is small and hopefully benign. Thank you Joan Condel

The nurses were absolutely fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable so professional. The Dr's were great as well. Very nice and I like when they explain everything that is going on and what's to come. The 3 stars are because the place is dirty. Ever area I walked into was dirty. The area you get ready fir surgery, the bsthroom....all of it needs to be scrubbed and bleached. Like now!!!

The Commonwealth Health Center in Mountain Top has always provided me with excellent care. The wait time is always very little, and when I give blood samples for testing, Heather is always expert in drawing blood in a painless manner. She also always puts me at ease, and is kind and considerate, never rushed. Dr. Dudrick has also been a great doctor, being kind and very knowledgeable. Hats off to the great professional care I have received here !

The nurses in the short-stay surgery area who care for us both pre-op and post-op bring us a standard of care which is even above par excellence. Visiting a hospital O.R. is never something any of us look forward to, but having foreknowledge that you'll be in great hands makes the thought of any possibility of returning for a future visit a LOT more tolerable. Be sure to let them know that they've become the topic of great feedback here. They're nothing less than "healthcare heroes," of which I can attest. ❤

Had a Total right hip replacement by Dr Charlton. Him and his team are great. The joint class with Paige was an awesome experience and made it easier to go through the surgery. The Nurses on the 4th floor after surgery were great as well. I don’t have one complaint about what these nurses have to go thru throughout the night.

The service at the facility (lab) was great. Patient Portal where you are supposed to be able to access your records is down. Yes there is 24 hour help, but they can only tell you Patient Portal won't be up , sorry. After several phone calls I was given the number to medical records department , and the representative who assisted me was most helpful and able to help me access Patient Portal, which apparently finally went up. I was very happy to get my lab report.

Great experience! My nurse after my procedure was very knowledgeable about my procedure and was a great person all around. I want to give a huge thank you to Leah V, LPN for taking really good care of me. She made the situation I was in a lot more bearable. Every Hospital should have a lot more people like her on staff.

It was very busy the day I went to get my recent bloodwork. I had to fast, so I decided to stay and wait. The waiting area was full of people. When it was my turn to register, Wendy the admissions clerk apologized for the long wait. She was very patient and kind to me and to everyone else who had to wait to be registered. Once I was registered, Heather took my blood and she also apologized for the wait. It was totally understandable because it wasn’t their fault that everyone came around the same time for bloodwork. The staff was very kind and professional with everyone they interacted with. I go there about every 3 to 6 months and I will always go back because the staff is always so respectful & courteous.
