St. Francis Church in Dalhousie is a quaint and historic gem. The architecture and ambiance of this church transport you to a bygone era. While it may not be as grand as some larger cathedrals, its simplicity and peaceful setting make it a lovely place for reflection and photography. A must-visit when exploring Dalhousie's colonial heritage.

There’s not much in Dalhousie as it’s a small beautiful hill station. This is one of the attraction closer to the main square - Gandhi Chowk. You can go inside the church and pray. There’s a lawn outside where you can click pictures.

We visited the church on Christmas 🎄 the whole church was decked up for the festivities, carols was being sung, we even got the tasty plum cake on the entrance. It was peaceful inside and it felt very nice just sitting inside the church. They had also made little scenes of Lord Jesus's life. The church is very scenic you can watch the whole lush Green Mountain area of Dalhousie. You can walk and reach here and spend some good time here.

Nice church, you can visit here either when you are a Christian or you just arrived in a city. Otherwise there is nothing special so it's not worth to travel here from further distance.

Peaceful place to meditate and relax, the church is situated in proper Dalhousie. Went there just after Christmas, the church was decorated beautifully. The surrounding areas are picturesque and the people are very kind.

I visited this place called Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh as solo traveller. I started my journey from Delhi. It took me 11 hours to reach Dalhousie via Volvo bus. While walking through the streets I came across this beautiful church with pine trees around. It was totally breathtaking. So calm & peaceful this place I found. I took my stay in one of the Himachal tourism hotel. It was my memorable & pleasant stay at this place. I can recommend this place to all.

On my visit I saw this 19th century church which still stands tall and confident on its walls. Beautifully designed on the top of the hill. It has Belgian glasses and great wooden doors and slippers on the roof. The confession box in the church is a delight to watch. The beaches of that era are still strong and beautiful.

Located on walking distance from the famous Subhash chowk, this church is a beautiful example of British architecture in India. Made in 19th century, it still holds the same beauty. Views outside of the church are mesmerizing. You can spend some relaxing time around in peaceful atmosphere here.

Church is quite peaceful from inside. You can see a few ducks, rabbits there in a caged area. The church is beautifully decorated from inside and is very clean . Some Hindi music was playing there during my visit.

Address: Subhash Chowk, Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh Built In: 1894 Timings: 7:00 AM -7:00 PM, Open all days Few kilometres walk from Subhash Chowk lies the charming church of St. Francis. The church is draped by the branches of deodar trees. One can see some of the finest examples of glass and stonework in the interior of the church. Each and every wall of the church speaks and narrates about its colourful history. The structure of the church is more than 100 years old; still it looks as fresh as it was built yesterday. Known as the prominent monument of Dalhousie, the St. Francis Church was constructed in the year 1894 by the Army and Civil Officers and civilians. Since then the church has been maintained and regulated by the Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar. The church is built in the typical British architecture and bears resemblance to many famous churches of England. Nearby the church is the residence of the priest. The priest's abode is called 'Alverna' and is better known amongst the people as the 'Lambe Chole Wale Padri Ki Kothi.' St. Francis Church of Goa is one of the chief attractions of Dalhousie and sees a steady trickle of visitors all along the year especially during Sunday mass.
