Awesome very peaceful place I ever visit amazing view amazing local people. From the military barrier at Dhainkund, a scenic 1.5 km ridgeline walk leads to the Jai Pohlani Mata Temple, with a teahouse and great views of the Pir Pinjal range. It is located about 8.1 km away from Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, India. The scenic trail continues 5 km south along the ridge to tiny Jot, with a couple of dhabas, at the Chuari Pass (2772m) on the Chamba-Chuari Khas road. It is near to Khajjar Meadow. You will forget the 3 km hiking once you reach the top.The view is beautiful all the way you travel to this point. If you are looking for littel bit of trekking Dainkund peak is best for Short n Sweet trek. Almost 5 km trek from parking slot after that you can explore more mountain on your own. Most amazing site seeing in Dalhousie....don't dare to miss...if you love mountains...snow peaks...cattels...breeze ..flower beds.....valleys full of flowers. When you actually go there....you won't be able to shut your mouth...the Wooooow factor is going to rule..... The road condition is okay. After certain point you need to climb for about 3 kms. The walk ends at a small temple from there you can view Himalayan ranges. Dainkund peak is highest point in that area. Awesome views. Must visit place near Kajjiar. Better in the morning as no fog around hills. Don't forget to keep SLR camera with you. To amazing place. We never wanted to climb down and still miss the views from the top. It's a awesome experience and u feel lifted to another world altogether. Our trek to dainkund was the highlight of our Dalhousie stay. The trek is an hours walk along the beautiful mountainside strewn with wild white daisies. A must do on your trip to dalhousie. This place is covered with full of snow during December. Ppl can take a fun walk on the place. But one must have good boot or shoe to avoid slipping and hurting yourself. This place gives a beautiful view.

Tough terrain, good for health. Saw people of all ages, my recommendations do not go up with kids and people with weak hearts and/or health conditions. The view is scenic though but tough to climb up. Wear appropriate shoes. Washrooms are atop behind the temple. Nowhere on the way up. Overall Amazing View and Experience.

What a visit it was. Breath taking height with treaking of around 2 km. But it was a great experience altogether. Also we got a chance to see Kailash hill which is very sacred place for Hindus.

The meadow looked like a hideaway of the lost heaven. The sense of inner peace and harmony was unmatched. The grasses seemed to have a party with the wind, dancing in their own rhythm. The lush greeny, the landscape, the warmth of the sunlight, everything seemed so coherent.

If you can walk more after Dainkund peak there is pohlani devi temple at same distance from the peak although the path is not as steep and walkable. Eateries are there to rescue after the tiring 1300m walk. Mount Kailash Manimahesh is also visible from here.

A very Peaceful place worth and a very nice trek. It is in Defence restricted area, the vehicles are allowed till a Point only. There is around 2kms trek to the temple which is very picturesque. 2-3 shops of eatries, tea, coffee, Maggi etc is there. You can donate to temple and get a receipt as well.

After all the trekking and feeling asphyxiated it’s a beautiful feeling to reach the temple on the mountain top. But it’s not just about the Darshan, the whole journey is worth experiencing with its scenic views of the lofty peaks that hems this divine temple P.S. : the trek is not recommended for people with respiratory or heart conditions as even I could feel that the lack of oxygen with height

Lying close to the army base in Dalhousie, the Pohlani Devi Temple is a Hindu temple. This ancient temple is devoted to their deity Pohlani and worships ‘Trishul’ as a symbol of devotion. Reaching Pohlani Devi temple is through a small pathway through the hills; the views of the Pir Panjal range are breathtaking from above here. The 2km trail to the top has a small tea house surrounded by wild daisies on the way, which takes you 45 mins on an average journey.

Awesome holly place, it's should be the 1st priority site to visit if you are in dalhousie.. it is about 3 km trek from lakkadmandi starting point. Unmatched views of snowclad Himalayan mountains from there... the trek is not so tough.. children can also. Keep water bottle with you.

Came here 15 years ago and now! If you like tracking and if you like a place where there is almost no commercialisation this is the place. This is a temple of Kali goddess one of the many goddesses. this temple provides you amazing amount of peace and solitude. what I like about this is almost a 2 km track uphill downhills plain. you will always experience some clouds some rain some sunshine on every trip you come. In last 15 years the place has commercialised little bit with many shops open now. 15 years ago there used to be just one or two shops and that too were makeshift shops.
