We were kindly checked in at night time as the buses from Yangon arrive around 03:30. However, the room had unbearable unhealthy smell, the air in general felt moldy and dusty, and we were seriously worried for our health. We've never experienced such a thing in all of south east Asia. Sure enough, we both woke up with a pounding migraine. After we've regained our bearings at around 08:00, we've told the manager our concerns and that we could not stay in the room any longer for obvious reasons. He disregarded our complaints as the result of "renovations", and demanded that we pay the cancellation fee without any consideration to the fact that we were actually leaving because of a health hazard in his room, much before check in time. It is one of the cheaper places close to the beach, but we felt the need to pay more and breath freely.

I was robbed in my bedroom while I was asleep with my door locked. My belongings were all over the floor. I lost a lot of cash, my mobile phone and my handbag. My passport and credit card were also taken, but they were returned to me by a Soe Ko Ko manager the day after the theft. Soe Ko Ko manager told me that another hotel found them. When I went to the police, my translator was on the hotel's side. At first, they reproached me for going to the police. Then, they tried to get me to say that I'd lost my things on my own, which is what the police ended up writing on my certificate, so I can't claim on my insurance. Soe Ko Ko didn't support me at all during all these procedures and didn't seem to care about this huge security problem. Also, Soe Ko Ko charge an exchange rate of 4500 kyats for 1 USD. The highest price on the black market at that time. The legal rate is 2,200, with hotels charging between 3,000 and 3,600 kyats for 1 USD. With that exchange rate, the price of the night double. When we discussed this, the managers got very angry. I felt very uncomfortable and even wanted to leave... I should have. On Booking, you'll find a review from another traveller who also had a problem with the exchange rate. And he also ended up at the police. For few euros more, you can have a proper hotel that accept foreigners but which is not on internet.

This guesthouse is truly a traveller's choice. Bungalows are clean, have AC, mosquito nets, private bathroom with hot water (really hot). Manager Andy is very helpful and experienced traveller so he can provide you all kind of information about the beach, day trips around Ngwe Saung and Myanmar in general. It was a pleasure to stay there

Located on quiet side road it is not far from the beach. We arrived late night, or early morning if you wish, and they were not ready for us even though we mentioned it in reservation. But they handled it great! They gave us some backup rooms free of charge to have a nap and once the rooms (huts) were ready in the morning, we moved. The manager is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast and food in general was good. You have to try pancakes :) Wooden huts are simple but clean, given the fact, it is a simple wooden hut. Only the showers lag a bit in the cleanness.
