Occupying a large site it provides a stark contrast to the rather seedy side of Pattaya very nearby. Judging by the size of the accommodation blocks, there must be alot of Monks living here. A few interesting temple buildings on this site two of which you can go inside. Large controlled parking area on the Temple site also.

It has undergone renovations in the 3 years since I was last here so it is quite clean and "sparkly" now. Quite beautiful now. I entered the main worship hall with the Buddha. It dates to the Ayutthaya kingdom and is about 350 years old. A monk was praying and giving blessings to worshippers. I didn't walk back to other areas on the 10 acre property so cannot comment on other buildings.

I wanted to thank the monks for praying over my Beautiful Auntie Somkid. The ceremony was wonderful. The temple is very beautiful. Please visit this temple 🛕 to see how amazing it really is.

Several buildings spread out on this large place, with large car park so assume also offices or other businesses on the same site. Colorful, ornate temples and an unusual black-graveled chedi. The area around the pond at the white temple was really littered and spoilt the splendor usually seen at these temples. ( the man eating lunch in the main prayer hall said “no photo”, despite no official signs displayed... Unusual?)

Wat Chai Mongkron is a large temple that covers 10 acres with a number of building. One temple is surrounded by water and has turtles waiting to be fed

Peaceful temple with variety way to pray 🙏🏻 I came here couple times before on the night time for meditation on Buddhist holiday. The place is nearby city centre, so it's pretty close with everything with a lot of parking lots.

Very beautiful complex, the territory is large, beautifully decorated. You can go inside and have a look, but like everywhere else in temples you need to cover your shoulders and legs

Definitely worth a visit: this is the oldest and Royal Buddhist temple in the Pattaya area. It's a 'working' buddhist temple so monks reside on the 10 acres of land. One of the two main Buddha statues, Buddha Chaimongkol, is from the old Ayutthaya empire and is said to be about 350 years old. You'll also find a market and food stalls in the near vicinity of the temple. Be aware there is a dress code, so cover your legs and shoulders. Entrance was free at the time I visited but a donation is welcome.

There are a total of 41,205 Buddhist temples in Thailand since the last update by the Office of National Buddhism. Wat Chaimongkron is a royal monastery. There is only one special class temple in Thailand which is Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok. The other classes are Royal temple first, second and third class. The other temples are ordinary but still beautiful temples. Wat Chaimongkron (Wat Chaimongkhon or Wat Chaimongkot) isn‘t a very old temple though. The temple was built in 1937 on donated land. In 1954 the temple received land owned by the royal family. The temple expanded substantially and is housing more than 30 buildings today. In January 2013 the temple received the title as a royal temple which makes it only the second one in the province of Chonburi. The main Buddhist relicts are the Chinraj Buddha Image and the Chaimongkol Buddha image which was found in Ayudha and is estimated to be 350 years old. On the temple grounds are often fairs and markets. The soon coming Loi Kratong festival will be celebrated here too. The Temple complex is located at the end of South Pattaya Road and Second Road. A must visit for culturally interested visitors. Last Visit | 30. October 2022

Nestled amidst the bustling energy of Pattaya, Wat Chai Mongkhon emerges as a tranquil oasis, inviting visitors to embark on a serene journey of relaxation and reflection. Our experience at this peaceful monastery was nothing short of enchanting. As we strolled through its serene grounds, a sense of calm washed over us, gently carrying away the worries of the outside world. The architecture of Wat Chai Mongkhon stood as a testament to Thailand's rich cultural heritage. Traditional Thai-style buildings adorned with intricate details painted a vivid picture of devotion and craftsmanship. Each step revealed a new facet of the temple's beauty, from the delicate brushstrokes of vibrant murals to the gentle curves of elegantly crafted statues. Amidst the soothing ambience, we found ourselves pausing to contemplate the profound mysteries of life. The temple's serene aura seemed to encourage introspection, as if the very walls whispered timeless truths to those who listened. It was a place where one could escape the frenetic pace of the city, a sanctuary for quiet contemplation and inner peace. Wat Chai Mongkhon also proved to be a haven for photography enthusiasts. Every corner held the promise of a captivating shot, each frame capturing a harmonious blend of natural beauty and human artistry. The play of light and shadow lent an ethereal quality to the surroundings, making it an ideal backdrop for capturing moments of quietude. In the heart of Pattaya, Wat Chai Mongkhon offered more than just architectural marvels; it offered a respite for the soul. Our leisurely stroll through this hidden gem left us refreshed, rejuvenated, and profoundly moved. Whether seeking solitude, seeking solace, or seeking to capture the essence of Thai spirituality in a photograph, this temple proves to be an inviting sanctuary of beauty and serenity.
