Make sure to book Deluxe Plus or Standard Plus rooms - those are in the front Areca building whilst other rooms are in different wings. Not sure if the renovation of the Corona wing will confuse the room choices going forward. Deluxe Plus rooms are large with good bathroom and view of the pool. Breakfast is decent. Good location.

Its a scam. They sell you this lovely hotel online with pools and nice rooms and you pay almost $100 night and you arrive and they send you down this odd pathway to a hotel that has not been renovated since the 80s. they send you to the old wing where the rooms are very tired and run down. Same as an old $30 hotel in bangkok. My fridge is yellow with age. Some of the power sockets in the room don't work. The TV power socket stopped today. The furniture is old. My room has flaking paint and mould. But they won't refund you and say you need refund from your booking agent. So it's a scam. I've met other people in the old rooms who feel the same. Don't book the over priced deluxe rooms. Actually boycott this hotel.

I like the sprawling layout here and very close to the LK nightlife. If only the staff at the reception desk could be a little more helpful

This used to be my go to hotel when visiting Pattaya. Nowadays though the breakfast and rooms are subpar. If you book a room make sure to ask for the main Areca building directly on Soi Diana. The Evergreen building is old and outdated, but clean. They no longer serve breakfast in Evergreen. The location is great if you are looking for nightlife outside of Walking Street. It’s very near LK Metro and Soi Buakhao. Treetown is maybe a 7 minute walk.

Friendly staff, nice hotel BUT Internet absolutely terrible. Can't open many apps, news sites etc and very poor WiFi reception around pool and hotel. Spoke to IT manger a week ago and he connected me to a secure site at reception but I have to sit in reception to work or using banking apps or most apps that require a secure WiFi. I have to go to coffee shop to work or read news sites. I have heard other customers complain but after complaining a week ago still terrible. Pity. John

Room was ok but WiFi was really bad on the second night. Funny thing is that when I checked in and asked about the WiFi they said some rooms ok and some not ok. Prepaid by credit card and was none refundable so be sure to have a good mobile data package if you need to do some online work etc during your stay

Stay at this hotel several times, very convenient and within walking distance to the soi Buakhao nightlife zone but still far enough to avoid club noises while sleeping. The room was clean (the front building is newer compared to the back buildings, worth paying few hundred baht more to upgrade), breakfast was decent (but some foods may run out so I suggest arriving for breakfast not later than 1 hr. before closing time)

So this place is not as spectacular looking as the pictures. I only visited a friend who was staying there but I was not at all impressed. It's like most accommodations in Pattaya. The pictures are always more vibrant than the actual property. The Thais don't really seem to do much upkeep after they build something.

Being staying here for 16 years and it's brilliant. Nice pools with a good little gym. The location is great. It's got everything you need real close. LK metro is just around the corner. The beach is 10 mins away walking. It's right in the middle with all the action around you. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Great location for bars and entertainment. I prefer this area to Beach road and Walking Street. Hotel has ramps for the disabled and 2 swimming pools and a gym. Also car parking available. Buffet breakfast is very good.

I'm really taken by the layout and setup of the hotel, which is split into two sections. Spent a bit of time in and around the pool of section A, great vibe. Staff are great, very helpful and friendly, have never come across anyone who isn't. The hotel is situated in a great location. Never considered staying back from the beach before, now this is my first choice - to walk an extra 60 seconds and be surrounded by much better bars, markets and restaurants.

Very good service. Only a set meal at breakfast when we were told it would be a buffet.

Disappointing.... rooms are ok... good breakfast, but they run at karaoke until 3 am.... forget it if you need some sleep....I would not stay here again .... staff unsympathetic.... but efficient...

I am so happy I chose Areca! Found it using google maps and street view and went from there. Rooms are a decent size, 2 good pools. The Marble bar and seating on decking out front of the hotel is something I miss. a Nice breeze when the sun goes down and people watching was a fun thing to do for hours. Staff were friendly and some parts were being renovated in time for the upcoming high season. Breakfast was decent and caters for everyone. 10 mins to Central and beach road. 5 mins to Mike and Kiss Restaurant. Soi Diana is a very busy street at night. take caution walking. Great Hotel, we will be back one day.

Just stayed at the Areca Lodge and absolutely loved it. I had a few days in the now reopened Corona Wing overlooking the pool in a Deluxe Plus room. Fully renovated and superbly done. Good buffet breakfast with lots of western and Thai options and an eggs to order station for delicious omelettes or scrambled, poached fried etc. Staff in this hotel are wonderful and very helpful. This was my first time staying at the Areca and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Stayed here for 19 nights in April, lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Great location and within walking distance of LK Metro. Would highly recommend and will stay again next trip

Stayed here for 4 weeks in Sept/Oct 2022. My room was in the Evergreen wing. Excellent size room, modern and spacious. Good size balcony too although I had to ask for a small table as there were only chairs. The monthly rate was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 weeks earlier this month returning after COVID. I've been here several times before, but breakfast this time was a major disappointment. As a strict vegetarian no regular protein on offer. Unable to eat vegetable dishes as always served with a meat, oyster sauce or egg in it; except for occasional potato dish. Muesli gone; cornflakes only. Fruit and empty carbs mostly on offer -not healthy for a long stay. Requested more vegetarian friendly food to staff -deaf ears.

The quality has gone down over the past year. Service is more lax, and the food is less tasty. Almost broke my neck stepping in and out of the high tub they have in most rooms; be sure to check that if that's important to you. Only a few updated rooms have the walk in shower.

The hotel has a nice entrance and the lobby looks good. But the second building behind is old, the rooms could receive a renovation. Our room has a very loud aircon and a cover in the bathroom ceiling was missing which already made a bad impression. Maybe the main building has better rooms, but as we became one behind I can't give a better recession!

Hotel was very average and not worth the money you pay. WiFi was pretty much non existent. Much better hotels around for less money. All in all very let down, and would not stay here again. Only pro, good location

+ nice room + bar and swimming pool -shower was either hot or cold. - the sound of the elevator woke me up about 20 times during the night. Our room was halfway up the hall. You also hear when someone is flushing the toilet in the rooms nearby. - the light of the AC is very bright, you will see it in the night when you close your eyes. -i put on the light with my pillow during the night, weird positioning of the buttons

The hotel staff were fantastic. My family and I spent 9 days here and the restaurant staff made sure there were tables big enough for us to have breakfast together. Rooms were comfortable and had a beautiful view of the pool. Great location for us to get around. Will definitely come back.

Do not be fooled by the pictures, the rooms are well well outdated and shabby. The whole of the room needed a updated overhaul. If you want a cheap hotel then stick with this one.Staff overall were friendly apart from reception who on every occasion were rude and snapped back at you if you asked them anything.

Great location , staff are friendly in all departments, rooms are clean and we'll maintained. Location is the best for everything . Walk to beach and shopping and very close to the best entertainment areas

Location is great. Gym in urgent need of upgrade. Main worstation is broken and needs repair. Will not return for this reason as need a hotel with basic weights station. No option to get iron or ironing board also sucks for long stays. Staff in Marble Bar attached to hotel clueless. Such a shame as was hoping better.

I stayed here for 5 night Pros: The location is what sells this hotel as there are plenty of great restaurants around and it's right next door to LK, So you can easily crawl home after a big night out and also the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Cons: The internet here is terrible, keeps cutting in and out (not that you would be wanting to use it all the time, as there is so much to do) and also the breakfast is not the best, But as I said there are plenty of other restaurants around with a very good price range. So final Verdict is, It's a little over priced compared to other hotels in the area but if it's your very first time here and want somewhere centre in the main action, Then you can't go wrong. Enjoy Your Stay!
