We're sitting in the Pharmacy and Soda Fountain right now sharing a hot cocoa. It was snowing earlier but it's just freezing rain now. This was really good tonight. We took a free horse drawn trolley ride which was a better choice versus the very cold metal seats of the train. This was an excellent trip tonight. We will be back , just in warmer weather. Great for the whole family. They even have wheelchairs you can borrow as well as golf carts bringing people down to the 1920's Main St we are right now.

I love this village. I remember going as a kid when I was younger. When I lived in Ohio a few years ago, I had a membership here and loved every minute I had it. I love the trades, villages and living history. I have even taken a coopering class here. Walked out with a wonderful bucket. This weekend, I got to see the historic downtown. Attached are some photos from there.

I can t say enough how awesome this campground is... everything is within walking distance. We were right across from the splash pad which my kids loved. The campground is quite with plenty to do. The sites are are large and the new section is all full hookup. The village was alot bigger than we thought and it pleasantly surprised us. We will most definitely will be coming back here again

My son and I stopped here on a whim. We ate at the restaurant and toured the Village. About 10 minutes into the Village, it started to pour. Continued for the next 2 hours. It was somewhat of a blessing as we had more 1 on 1 time with the actors/employees at each house/building learning all we could. We ended up getting a membership and can't wait to return with the rest of my family.

I loved learning and relearning the old ways which I am working toward living that way again!! You'd think you were back in the ole days as well as the gentlemen and ladies portrayed!

Historic Sauder Village has 110 structures on 239 acres. Erie Sauder invented the furniture you find in almost all box stores that you assemble yourself. Almost every Historic building has a docent or craftsman plying their trade and most in period dress. You can ride a train from one end to the other. The buildings are from the early 1800's to the 1920's and filled with incredible artifacts and displays. Their is also a nice RV Park and Inn. Even restaurants and bakeries.

Sauder Village is a wonderful place to spend a few hours or an entire day! All of the interpreters are so kind and knowledgeable, and it’s obvious that they enjoy their jobs and care about visitors. The village is clean and well-maintained, and there are activities for everyone from preschoolers to seniors to enjoy. Sauder truly makes history come to life!

Very nice attraction. Loved all the buildings they have saved and the craftsman that explain their craft. The campground was great also, nice and quiet except the very busy train tracks close by.

This is an absolute must for family to experience all the opportunities available here to see how things were done in the "old days". So authentic even costumes and staff friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their own expertise and share with guests. Some hands on areas. Schools come here as groups because the experience is life long memories. Absolutely love this place!!!! A must go to place!!! Don't forget the Barn Restaurant next door with down home feeling and atmosphere with comfort food. Fried chicken is the best ever!!!

An outstanding family destination. There is SO much to see and learn, you can't fit it into one day. Stay overnight at the inn and take your time seeing it all. There is something here for everyone, and plenty for even the little ones to enjoy, from ice cream to a train ride, to all the animals and rotation of special events and lawn games, not to mention the pool and game room at the inn. We have visited again and again, and learn something new from these precious artisans every time. No better educational field trip than this.

We were traveling for a Michigan/Ohio quilting shop hop and ended up here at Sauder Village. Threads of Traditions is a quilt shop within Sauder Village. Quaint little village set up of many different types of shops. Threads of Traditions has everything for your quilting needs. Very nice workers, very helpful with a wide range of fabric patterns and sewing/quilting accessories, including sewing machines. We will definitely stop back in when in the area as we travel to Ohio frequently.

Great place! We’ve camped multiple times - very clean shower house, use of the lovely pool at the inn (restricted hours for campers), sauder village itself is also a fantastic experience, highly recommend! Red Barn is a fab homecooking style restaurant. So much to see and do here!

My husband and I came when we were in 4th grade and this year we were able to attend with our 4th grader. It was so fun to relive memories with him and to see how things have stayed the same but also changed just ever so slightly!

The village is a wonderful way to step back in time to learn & appreciate the daily lives & trades of settlers. Take time to visit the bakery & dine in the restaurant. Their chicken dinner & buffet is top notch!

I love this place & the people are amazing! The only thing I would say is how expensive it is& continues to climb. Though I do understand, as everything is climbing daily. I would rather spend our money here, creating family memories while learning, rather than other expensive activities.

Best historic village I have visited. Artisans in every shop. Organist in the church. Excellent buffet restaurant. Great little Bakery. We even watched an old-fashioned baseball game. Highly recommend for couples and families.

Love the history and demonstrations. The location is clean with pots of bathrooms for kids who constantly need to go. And don't forget to check out the ice cream shop and the new candy shop in the 1920s strip. Yum!

We fell in love with Sauder Village when we found out about their junior historian (youth volunteer) program and our daughter participated for a summer. She loved it and was offered an apprenticeship position the next summer. She learned valuable skills, gained great experience, and we made friends we look forward to seeing when we visit the Village each season. It's a place you should visit and enjoy! We are very thankful for it! 😃

This place is a home-schooling dream if your kids are young enough. They have a lot of different little exhibits and shops that reinforce lessons being taught at home. The conductor and engineer of the train were the nicest people. It really made my son's day to be able to sit beside the conductor on one of the tours. On a more personal note for me, the church has amazing acoustics. You could just feel how amazing God's presence would have been back when it was full of people. If you're not afraid of singing in public, you have to go in there and try it. It is absolutely gorgeous.

It was a very pleasant surprise. Did not expect all the houses and business with a historian to explain what life was like in the time people lived and worked. The property is well maintained nice walking paths. The museum is larger than expected it seams to just keep going and had a great time line of the Sauder family. Will definitely return with the grandkids.

This was a wonderful holiday experience for the family. Learning about the history of Christmas carols and seeing how people lived in the early 1900's.
