This fort is an historical landmark. This is very very old fort build by King Pawan. It is incomplete. It was in a very bad condition as there was no one to look after. But now after little renovation is looks quiet ok ok. One can have a look of Pauni city from there. Good for trekking.

Pauni fort Pauni Fort is a historic fort located in the Pauni village of Bhandara district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It was built during the 17th century by the Gond rulers of the region, and was later conquered by the Maratha Empire. The fort is situated on a hill and provides a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The fort has several bastions and gates, including the Nagzari gate, the Pauni gate, and the Bhalinga gate. The fortification walls are made of stone and are about 10 feet thick at some places. There are also several water tanks inside the fort, which were used to store water during times of siege. Today, the fort is in a state of disrepair and is largely abandoned. However, it still attracts tourists and history enthusiasts who are interested in exploring its ruins and learning about its rich past.

Pavani village is situated on the south bank of Wainganga river. There is a Bhandara- Pavani railway line. Umred- Bhiwapur- Pavani can also be found. A strong fortification of the fort can be seen right next to the road. The fort towers are in good condition. There is a gate to the fort. One can walk on the fort ramparts. There are towers on the coast. Toilet pits are also found in the coast. Water and accommodation can be provided elsewhere.
