One of those very beautiful old churches, i'm truly amazed by the creativeness and craftsmanships of those people who dedicated their skills and valued time. Many good people of their time shared their blessings.

One of the astonishing old churches we went to and have our Sunday mass. The homily of the priest is precise and heartwarming and you can feel the holiness in every word he said. We will surely come again to visit and pray. 🙏🙏🙏

Betis Church as popularly called is also known as St James the Apostle Church, located in Guagua, Pampanga. It is known as the Philippines' version of Sistine Chapel (in Vatican). It has intricate murals all over the ceiling, that depicts the life of Jesus. The wooden doors are artistically carved in detailed fashion by the local artisans -- my favourite is the door with the Virgin Mary. Built in the 17th century, the church still have the remains of the concrete when it was built. The facade looks simple, it was a surprise to see the beautiful interiors. The main altar is very elaborate, there are angel statues in the columns. And a bit of extra, was a fascinating tri-bike displayed in front of the church's yard when we visited.

Ok I was very surprised with this church as I wasn't really expecting much. This church I think is one of the prettiest churches in the Philippines in my opinion. The interiors are just beautiful. Just looking at the interiors makes me feel good. The main doors of the church are exquisite with angels carved in. If you're in the area, you should check this place out even if you're not Catholic just to appreciate the work that's gone into it.

An old church in Betis that has a simple white exterior but an intricately detailed interior. The ornate decorations inside the church are truly eye candy, especially the ceiling. The well-maintained wooden floor and perfect lighting enhance the overall ambiance.

The most beautiful church I visited so far. Kindly go here 1-2 hours before mass, because the church usually closes during siesta hours.

The outside of this church is plain, not much I can say about it but the interior is absolutely stunning! The place is studded with decorations so elegant that I can honestly say this place deserves to be called the Sistine Chapel of the Philippines. I'll never get tired of visiting this church.

A treasure trove of religious antiquities. Its paintings and retablo all dates back to the spanish regime our country has been. It also has a museum to know more about it's rich heritage.

Love the murals on the ceiling! I also love that they preserved the old installations in the church like the pulpits and retablo. They even have a small museum, and the church is pretty much open to everyone and has spacious parking areas! Definitely a must see when you visit Pampanga!

In celebration of Willy Tadeo Layug, special day of thanksgiving , on this heritage church, the most famous in Central Luzon, an iconic faith tourism embraced with its history and beautiful artistry. The face was a masterpiece creation , the Virgin Mary , is a donation of Maestro Layug @ the church in Malaga, Spain. In this coming Holy Week , please do visit this church to remember nearly 500 years of Christianity , an edifice that speaks a truly remarkable work of history , in collaboration with the presence of the Almighty , a well preserved structure of Love, History and Time

The place is very historic. You dont need to read anything to prove that. Even just by touching a surface could remind you of the past. There are some fruit bearing trees around the church. I'd recommend coming to this place around December at night. The decorative lighting is just "Wow".

The Parish Priest is arrogant and not a people person. He should focus more on eing a great examplr for humility and giving as a man of God.
