Always consistent with great steaks cooked to perfection. We visit several times a year and have always had good, sometimes stellar, service. We take friends and family who visit from out of town here often. The sides are large enough to share and the marinated crab claws are to die for!

Great food and service. Quite expensive for food at dinner and parking lot was full and hard to find a spot. The 10 of us had a good time for a birthday we were celebrating. Good prices on glasses of wine, not too expensive.

I brought my family to this establishment after the Archbishop Shaw and Franklinton High School. We were greeted immediately by the staff. My family was greeted aggressively by a gentleman. He stated, "What do you want?" I was taken back by his negative tone. My 11 year old daughter felt that the man was rude and did not want to serve us. I asked the gentleman can they serve us a meal. He stated, "The kitchen and grill is closed." Another waitress laughed at us at us and another male staff yelled sarcastically "Have a good night! " It felt very unfriendly and racist. I would hate to think this establishment did not serve us based on our race. However, their behavior was totally unprofessional. Hopefully, the owner will read this and offer his/or her employees additional training on etiquette. I teach my kids that this type of behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. We will never return to this place again. They do not welcome African-American families.

Best steak hands down that I've ever had. It's more on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. Plus they are all super friendly. Def out fav place to go when celebrating.

The food was delicious. My lamb chops was seasoned to perfection!! Nice, elegant place to dine. You have to make reservations on the weekend being as though we didn't know that we set on the balcony and had dinner. Great music, awesome 5 star service. It was a pleasant experience. I will go again and again.

Today Chip Gardner and I hosted a luncheon to thank the people we rely on most in our real estate sales business. Service providers came from across Greater New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. From the photographer and videographer to the cpa and our preferred preferred lender. They came from Denham Springs and from Diamondhead, MS and Every one of them said how delicious the food was and how the service was fantastic too. We invited the people who make our listings and the communities shine brighter and the people who make our lives a little easier so we can perform at a higher level and some time with our family too. Today Chef Pat Gallagher and his staff at Gallagher’s Grill in Covington was added to the list of people who make us shine! He helped us make the people we rely on most feel special and appreciated!

I struggled with this review. You see - this isn't a typical establishment for us (due to the cost) but it was for a close friends birthday and so here we are! We started with the Eggplant Orleans - perfectly fried eggplant disc's topped with a cream sauce that contained crab and had a very light flavor of lemon. The eggplant was very crispy on the outside and the sauce had just the right amount of lemon flavor. Not tart, but you knew it was there. It made you want to eat slowly and enjoy it. We had the Chilean Salmon and the Mixed Grille - personally, I'd pass on the Mixed Grille and go straight for the salmon (it was GREAT). Not that the Mixed Grille was bad, mind you - but the salmon was a more complex dish and the latter was, well - two lamb chops and two tiny birds with a lot of small bones to pick around (very, very good, by the way). We had the corn grits for the side (sides are big, you can certainly share on with your date) and they were great, and a good pairing with the salmon we thought. We wrapped it up with the New Orleans bourbon bread pudding - a mountain of a desert that you'll push to get through because it is that good. The drinks (two old fashioneds) were as go be expected from any bar. I can't say we'll be back soon as it is a VERY spend place for us, and we feel even on expensive dates we get better value for our tastes elsewhere (Cena', for example) but I do encourage you go visit Gallaghers to see if it is a fit for you. You will not be dissapointed. The only (minor) issue we had was things like mixed up desserts and forgotten drinks by the wait staff, but it was an extremely busy night, the impact was negligible, and ultimately - we're all human right?

Our first time here and we love it. Food and service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly. My husband had the stuffed softshell crab, he loves it. I had the crispy redfish and it was freaking good. If you're a Merlot lover, the Meeker was really good and smooth.

Great steakhouse. Come hungry. They have a wide variety of steak and seafood dishes. The sides are large enough to share with a group, so a few is plenty for a crowd. Don't overlook their specials, and they were spectacular. We had the halibut and the bacon wrapped shrimp and loved it. While we enjoyed the sides, the mushroom side wasn't for us. I imagine if we had ordered steak the mushrooms would have complimented it nicely, though.

Had reservations for lunch with friends. Food was delicious and service was very good. I love the Appetizer Trio and had for my entree on multiple visits including this one. Only real draw back is the great difficulty finding parking during peak hours with very small lot. On street parking was required crossing on a very busy Tyler St or walking some distance on streets behind the restaurant.

We love the food. The kindness from the staff. Everything was delicious. If I had to eat there every day on my vacation, I'd be totally fine with that. The portions were perfect and especially for the price. Definitely check this place out and they're ooey gooey cake, omg🔥, out of this world. It's in one of the pictures I posted.

One of the best dining experiences you will have in this area. Everything is fresh and delicious. Prices are more then reasonable for the quality and work put into the dishes.

I read the reviews and heard all the great word of mouth...so we gave Gallagher's a shot. It was a special night for us, and first off, the service was exceptional. From the host to the waitstaff, top notch. Now the bad. For a place to claim to have the best steaks on the Northshore...meah. My ribeye was edible. That's about it. Cooked medium, even medium well, it should not have required I saw at the meat with my knife. I'm not a fancy guy, so this was a rare experience at a pricey restaurant. I learned an important lesson. I do not like "a la carte" at all. To pay the price they charge for just a steak, then add a side for a price most appetizers go for...it just doesn't make sense for the consumer. The side I chose was the asparagus with "hollandaise sauce". I love asparagus and prepare it regularly, and just assumed that one should trim off the hard, fibrous, inedible ends of the stalks, but what do I know. I also have made hollandaise sauce a number of times, which can be time consuming and finicky, but should not be presented on your side dish as runny, foamy and basically buttery lemonade. My wife tried the catfish pecan, which was mushy and had a muddy taste...sigh. The side she chose was potatoes au gratin, which brings to the imagination, thin slices of potatoes, baked with an abundance of cheese...or in this case some lumps of potatoes in a semblance of cream sauce with a spattering of cheese on top. To return to the "a la carte" aspect...I do no see the appeal of having numerous plates and dishes consuming the table space and making it a tedious endeavor to bring one stalk of asparagus from the bowl shaped dish to the inadequately sized steak plate one at a time to be able to cut it and eat it. We paid for the meal without complaint, as there was nothing that could have been remedied at the time, the damage was done, lesson learned. But I wanted to ensure that my experience was available for people thinking of going there. While most people seem to rave extensively about the place, I could in good conscience, not. The three stars above are solely for the exceptional front staff, if I could just rate them, it would be absolutely 5 stars.

Our all time best on the Northshore. Food is always tasty. All the staff are very friendly and attentive always. Our food came out promptly, everything was delicious. Keith took care of us tonight, very friendly and constantly smiling. his suggestions were a hit. Chef Michael came out to chat with us and brought some extra spicy hot sauces for my husband who likes his food very hot. Thanks chef and everyone at Gallagher's. We can't wait to try the holiday specials you will have on the menu in a few weeks!

We had a great experience here! Mike is a phenomenal cook who created some very unique flavor combinations. He even came out and checked on us throughout dinner to make sure everything went perfectly. Then our waiter Keith was awesome too. Very personable and attentive. We would definitely go back again!

Good meal and great service from Patrick. The grilled shrimp were OVERCOOKED. : -( should not have been in the broiler long enough to burn, yet they were. Only issue with the meal.

Our waiter was so bad. The waiter gave me the wrong drink and I tried to explain that it was the wrong one. The waiter took it back to the bar, came back with the same one and told me "it is what it is". I emphasized that it was the wrong drink and the waiter finally fixed it. The waiter kept acting frantic during the whole dinner, which was very odd. Our table was never pre bussed after our appetizers. I was left high and dry after I finished my drink, no one asked me if I wanted another one. It was comically bad service, like the movie "Waiting". The food was great, but the service was horrible!

The staff has always been attentive and great with food and drink recommendations. The food is spectacular. You've got to try the stuffed chicken... Keto friendly and to die for, I'm not doing keto, but it will knock your socks off!!
