Authentic middle eastern food! Everything we ordered was crafted in such a way where the taste was familiar enough to feel homemade while also being unique enough to wonder how it was prepared differently. From the appetizers to the dessert, all the food was delicious and didn’t disappoint. We had the hummus, baba ghanoush, pickles, beef kebab, and fish shawarma. For dessert, we had the knafeh which was fantastic and the malabi which was delightfully refreshing. Keep in mind that the “pickles” didn’t actually have any pickles but was rather a bunch of pickled veggies. We had a reservation but you should be able to grab a table without one.

Wow! What a wonderful restaurant. Laid-back decor, very friendly and professional staff, great music (they played one of my favourite Talking Heads songs), lovely selection of drinks and the food was just stunning: I enjoyed very tasty bread and dips, dark chocolate truffles and the polenta with mushrooms was one of the best dishes I have ever experienced in my life. 10/10 - absolute perfection.

Quite new place, really nice interior (industrial look). The owner was very kind and we could talk a bit. Hard choice for the „right“ dish (so we took some of the starters accompanied with a foccacia). Those very quite tasty as well as the homemade lemonade (with roses). The main course could have been a bit bigger. But in addition to the starters all in all enough. The look is also really nice and we can reccomend a visit there.

Beautiful Mediterranean restaurant. Amazing food. Very friendly people. I have had many kebabs, but nothing like this. A true feast for the taste buds.

Wow. I mean, WOW! Had a great dining experience here. The husband/chef, wife/service, and waitperson provided a friendly, concerned, efficient service. You can tell the food was made with love. They were out of several (actually quite a few) items and so we ordered other dishes; they comp’ed us grilled Padron peppers in a tomato sauce to compensate for our disappointment. All the dishes had an interesting interplay of textures and tastes and complexities and depth of flavor. The must order: Corn (beer nuts & popcorn!) and Mushroom Polenta (handmade from scratch). Also, very good was the ceviche. The presentation was also spot on. One of the best meals we had in Portugal (out of abt 20)! Nov 2022.

Nice and cozy little restaurant near hotels and Trindade metro station. Atmosphere is relaxing. Drinks are good. We had some appetizers and a kebab. The kebab was really good, well seasoned. Yemen bread wrap was like a thin pancake. Humus was good, peppers too. Babaganoush was not to my taste. homebread bread which comes with a small tomato puree is just okay. -1 star because food is pricey for what it is, size is small and the mezze dips are served without anything to eat them with. No Mediterranean bread, Crackers or etc. This was a 1st.

We had two amazing meals at Monteen. Fresh, vibrant and delicious dishes packed full of plenty of herbs and vegetables. We particularly loved the hummus with freshly baked (warm 😋) bread, the tabbouleh, the beef kebab and the burnt aubergine starter. The food is completely different to anything else we tried in Porto and such a great addition to the local restaurant scene. In summary: an innovative menu that’s a mix of Israeli and Mediterranean influenced dishes with plenty of flavoursome ingredients. A* for presentation, effort, incredible ingredients and lovely staff. Go here for an adventurous and delicious menu with plenty of surprises.

I had an amazing time dining at Monteen! The dishes looked like works of art - so beautifully presented. I really liked how they're meant for sharing, which lets you taste a variety of items. The service was fantastic too. Just remember to book a table ahead of time. Enjoy your meal!

We’ve been to many mediterranean restaurants here in porto and honestly they have all been good , that being said we have now found our favorite sooo fresh and flavorful we where thrilled to find Swiss chard in one of our dishes . Owned and operated by the most charming family. Something for everyone here , fish , meat , vegetarian, their hummus rocks🤘English speaking , reservations, strongly suggested, unless you go right when they open when no one is there yet like we do cuz we’re old lol , oh gosh almost forgot their dessert are sublime.

Came here on a weekday, we had drinks, bread, ceviche, prawns and mussels, kebab, and dessert. Wonderful friendly staff and lovely cozy ambiance! The ceviche was superb and well balanced, prawn and garlic mussels were so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. I was wanting a little more flavor from the hummus and kebab. Dessert could’ve been a little more crunchy/crispy felt a bit soggy. Overall very lovely spot and reasonably priced , would still recommend a visit!

Very nice and beautify restaurant! We really enjoyed the food although the price was a bit higher compare to the size of the dish. Overall, great experience and tasty food!

Great place, great atmosphere and of course great food. If they happen to have their special dessert Knafe - do find some room for it, it’s totally worth it! :)

The best fried cauliflower, super friendly staff and a nice vibe! I loved it there and I even came back to have a second cauliflower. 😊 It was definitely one of the best dinners I had in Porto.

We absolutely loved our dinner at MONTEEN! We arrived early for our reservation, warmly greeted and sat immediately. There were several vegetarian options and we appreciated the variety. We learned the chef hand picks all the produce himself! We ordered bread and spreads to start followed by cauliflower and sweet potato to share then the polenta and fish shawarma entrees. We finished with the artisanal chocolates for dessert. The dinner was the highlight of our time in Porto! We had a wonderful conversation with the owner who recommended some local spots that we also enjoyed. We loved supporting this small business and recommend making this little treasure part of your visit.
