We visited Bali/Gili ten and twelve years ago, a fellow Dane recommended Nick Tours, and we used them both times (for ideas, inspiration, bookings); it was great! This year (2023) we are back with our five children (aged from 7 to 27), and again had services through Nick Tours; we have now had 16 good days, and assistance from Nick along our travels, some days with weather problems, and we needed to switch attractions or hotels; all went well!!! Nick nailed it! We’ve travelled a fair amount in SE Asia and were always happy to figure out our own routes and destinations. However we found it to be more difficult in Indonesia with the many islands and not having easy access to public transportation. We were in Sanur (Bali) and decided the best way would be to go through a tour company. So glad it was Nick! We told him what we liked (being out doors, doing treks or cycling) and what we didn’t like (being in cities). He set up two tours for us. Java volcanos (Ijens is a must see) there was a lot of driving but well worth it as we got to see so much. Deni the guide was perfect, and we appreciated Adi’s driving skills and the fact that he didn’t need to come on the treks with us so was able rest up for the long drives. All the mornings were very early ( a couple at 3 am) Nick also arranged our flights to Kalimantan where we got on a Klotok (houseboat) to cruise down a river to see Orangutans, Proboscis Monkeys, and crocodiles. It was a beautiful experience! The boat had a crew of four and they took very good care of us. The food was amazing and the very best that we had in all of our travels in Indonesia. Everything was perfect on both excursions; thanks to Nick for setting up such memorable experiences for us.
