I stayed a week at the Cordova Hotel and Hostel and it was a great experience!!! I was greeted warmly by Cynthia, the manager, and the rest of staff as well! Cynthia went out of her way to make me feel comfortable, and even moved me to a larger room that was wonderful! the pool is great too! Location is unbeatable ! I hope this place does well for many years to come!!!

We stayed here on our honeymoon before and after our cruise. Initially, it looked appealing due to its convenient location, small business appeal, and reasonable prices. When we stayed there before our cruise, the staff was very friendly and picked us up from the airport in a timely manner, and took us to our ship at no cost. However, we stayed for an additional 6 nights following our cruise and were HORRIFIED with what we found the second night we were there. This room was a bit dirtier than the room we were previously in, but we tolerated it initially due to the more spacious environment. When my husband found two bed bugs in our bed, it tainted the remainder of our stay significantly. We quickly informed the staff of our findings; my husband even capturing the bugs to show them that they were in fact bed bugs. They were very apologetic, and offered us another room. This new room was a bit dirtier still than the last one, with ants crawling on the floor, but at least there were no visible bed bugs in the sheets. The staff's response to the bed bugs in our previous room was to bug bomb it; including our clothes. We received free lunch the next day, but no other discount. The outside environment would have been pleasant, without the locals smoking by the pool at all times of the day. Overall, we got the impression that this place could be a real gem, but the people running it seem to be in over there heads.

HOMELESS If your options are The Bridge at Cordova or being homeless…seriously consider sleeping on the street and saving your money! In all my years of travel, I have never stayed in a more rundown dilapidated disgusting motel. There is mold, mildew, and bugs everywhere! We booked (and paid for) The Bridge at Cordova after visiting the website and my husband speaking to the manager, Cathy by telephone. The pics on the website have to be five plus years old. I can almost guarantee that nothing has been done to that property since those photos were taken. The once pretty flower beds are full of weeds and trash. The rooms are dirty bug filled petri dishes of mold and mildew. The furniture is broken, and looks like it could have been picked up on the side of the road. The mattresses are old stained and horrible, as are all the linens and towels. I actually felt dirtier after taking a shower than before. The bathroom had only been half-way painted to cover up the mold and mildew growing all over the walls and ceiling. They either ran out of paint or just gave up. And the bugs…oh my god, the bugs! They were all over the counter in the kitchenette from the moment we checked in, and the problem only got worse as our stay progressed. Bugs were on every surface, and even in the bed! I found ants crawling on me more than once! After leaving, we had to fumigate our luggage and our laptop, because they had crawled in it as well. Now on to the other “guests” at The Bridge at Cordova… They are not travelers…they are “lifers”. These are people that obviously get some sort of government check. (mental disability, if I had to guess because they seem to be physically fit enough to work) They are always there in various stages of drunkenness and undress, no matter what the hour. Not to mention the fact that the security/manager, Luis stays drunk with them. And don’t even get me started on the drug use in the open. This is DEFINITELY not a place for women or children!

Step right up to the nastiest of the nasties! I'm always up for an adventure and this took adventure to a new level. When we arrived, we were greeted by guard dogs and a colorful troupe of ganja toking residents. When we finally found someone to show us our room, we opened the door and entered mothereffen Satan's outhouse! Cigarette burns in the walls, dog claw marks on the door, feces on the floor, mold around the shower. I was getting the stare down from a roach as I was in his territory. He moved. I flinched...I never should have flinched. Oh why did I flinch? This gave him ample opportunity hit me across the temple with his gun and in his other tiny insect hands he had a set of brass knuckles and a machete. I hit the floor with a thud. The roach spit out his cigarette and pulled the machete on my wife and demanded her diamond ring. Damn roaches! Reluctantly my wife gave up the ring as the roach made for the door, stopping only to grab her purse and give me a swift kick in the ribs. We notified the manager of the assault with the insect and he offered a full refund. I took plenty of pictures of the room and would be happy to share on The Chive under "Nopes". A direct quote in writing from the owner, Jorge G. Ramos, "Next time don't try to bring your girlfriend to a budget facility waiting to receive Ritz Carlton Services..." and "I don't personally need any social media, will always be full as who ever have used this service will comeback, as well as hundred of people who are not picky..."

This is definitely the very bottom of what you might accept. If you are traveling with wife or family, seriously consider something else. If you are used to camping on the beach, and the weather was bad, this might be better. We got a "private" room, no towels, soap, or even toilet paper. Microwave in room did not work, had not for a while, nor had it been cleaned. In fact, I did not see any evidence of cleaning. The sheets did appear to be clean. If you are used to dives, it is survivable. Motel 6 looks like 5 stars in comparison. Good location. We overnight-ed prior to cruise. Saved 100 - 150 over other hotels, will think very hard about spending the extra next trip.

This place is under new management and is looking tremendous. The pool area is looking wonderful. Mike is doing a fabulous job getting the place back to the way it should have been a long time ago. Amazing how much he has accomplished. Bravo Mike

This hotel is nothing like how it is advertised on the website. They say that there is a Jacuzzi and a barbecue on the website that I have yet to see either. The door to our room was not sealed. There was mild on our shower curtain as well. They say they are a bed and breakfast, but the only thing they had for breakfast was cereal, fruit, and toast.

This was the worst place to stay imaginable, don't let the pictures fool you its a Dump and its infested with criminals convicts pedophiles some of the worst scum and even stories of rapping young boys. They put me in a room with a 2 term offender fresh out of prison, after getting into a verbal confrontation with people there over harassing a girl, he went into our room and stole my valuable possessions. Don't stay here!.

Decent budget extended stay... No room service at all. No extra basics at all! Gotta buy your own TP and bring your own shampoo/conditioner/soap. There are sheets and very basic towels. Good for saving $!

Decent enough short stay hotel with a good pool. Towels are woeful and bed isn't great. The external AC units make sleep impossible, but the inside wall units are quiet and delightful. The pool is the best part of this hotel.

It's a decent budget spot to stay with a really good, clean pool. Outside AC units need to be removed permanently. Too loud, makes sleep impossible. Inside wall ac units work fine enough, as does ceiling fan. Fridge could be on a circuit breaker or switch on the back wall of the kitchenette so guests could turn it off if so desired. Big wall unit television. Decent bathroom. Needs new towels and for goodness sake, conditioner and shampoo and 2 more rolls of tp should be standard in hotel/motels by now. 😳😂🤦🏽‍♀️

It is a disgusting flea pit run by incompetent rude idiots. I made a reservation for my son for 2 nights. When my son arrived they had got the dates wrong, really wrong not just a little. Rather than try and accommodate him - due to their mistake, they got rude, belligerent and threatening, my son had to call the police. I had to threaten police involvement to get the money credited back to my account. I have no doubt that they would have kept it If I did not

Mike & Martha have completely redone The Captain Quarters. Everything is new. They have a great staff and it has made a complete 360 from the previous owners.

👍👍 Loved my stay, I would highly recommended smart move to anyone taking classes at MPT you can walk to school, and all of my roommates were also taking classes at MPT so it was a great way to make new connections. The neighborhood was also great walking distance to many great restaurants and bars!
