Such an amazing museum with aquarium, a ton of interactive play and brain teasers all over the place. They have sensory room with water play for kids under 6. A lot if exhibits about space, the body, the brain. Also have a playground and a cafe. Everything looks new and renovated. Highly recommended

The science center is a new family favorite. The change the exhibits every few months, and There is always so much to do. The hand -on activities are the best. They have an outside splash park, mini golf, and a small Cafe. We have a membership. It is Definitely worth it if you go 2-3 times a year. Choose one that fits perfectly for your family. Can't wait to go back.

It was very cool. Very interesting displays and a cool show. They have things outside for the kids to play and a splash zone if they have bathing suits. Science is literally on everything they play with. Super kid friendly. Also....veterans! It is a 100% discount for up to 4 people including the vet. That was an inviting surprise. We didn't know. Loved it all around.

Wonderful place to bring the kids, young and old. We brought our 6, 8, and 13 years Olds and they all had a wonderful time. The aquarium exhibit was fantastic and had a huge variety of fish and creatures. The space and science exhibits were probably my kids' favorites because there was so much to do. Great veteran's discount, good food selection, wonderful variety of exhibits!

Aquarium is tiny. You can walk through it in 2m. The fish seem confined to tanks that are too small and it wasn’t able to capture my child’s attention. The science center is better and worth a visit for kids 3-10. There are lots of little games like a wind tunnel and robotics machine which kids like. Also it’s not too packed and not too expensive.

Great place for kids. And cool indoor activities. It is educational museum first . But also it is fun . And it is interactive museum. Kids can try a lot different stuff to do. Kids definitely loves this place. Available also outdoor activities. And also summer camp is right here for kids. But I really like the movie about Black Holes here. Friendly and helpful stuff.

This place was great! Lots of options to choose from with something for the smallest babe to the wisest in the family (we don’t say old 🤫). Some old school stuff mixed in with some newer technology. We took our almost 7 yo with us during fall break and it was not packed but had a steady flow of other patrons. There’s a splash pad out back as well as a Kona ice truck. Lots of outdoor seating options as well. Friendly staff, clean facilities. Will definitely return. Oh, and there was a Titanic exhibit there that was amazing! Interactive, you find out at the end if you survived (they give you a ticket when you enter the museum for the exhibit as well). Super cool!!

Great experience for the whole family. For being a smaller science center they had so much to offer. We went two boys ages 10 and 5, and it catered to both age groups, including adults! They have four major areas plus in between play areas that work really well. They also have a planetarium, which is great especially for kids who have never been to one before. You can tell there are some upgrading that needs to be done, but they are working on that with an expansion to be completed in 2026. I would say it is a great local day trip that is educational, hands on, and entertaining. Reasonable priced and they even have a free mini golf. Would recommend for any child under 14.

This place is great for all ages. If you really like to read and learn about the brain, cool off on the splash pr playground, it has a safe place for kids 5 and under and an aquarium. Very cute but small place. I don't know I'd it's worth $21 admission ticket but still a good place and clean to learn

This should be name more as a kid’s interactive science museum. If it was name that I would give it a 5 star. Not much of an aquarium just a few tanks. Everything else is more kid friendly. The outside area for playing golf is super cute but it was in the high 90’s when we went so skipped playing. Is a well kept place and the staff is very friendly and kind.

We had a fun time at the Science Center. There were a lot of interesting and interactive things to see and do. We also played some of the miniature golf but we cut it short because it was so hot outside today :-( We plan on going back when it cools down this winter.

Great place to take kids of all ages. They really have some amazingly interesting exhibits. I had a great time with my 4 year old son. It is very interactive and they have playgrounds if the kids want to burn off some energy or get some fresh air. On the one side there is also a splash pad next to a covered patio.

You could spend a whole stay here! Absolutely love it. Their new renovation of the outside is so great. In addition to a ton of interactive hands on things to do inside they have a small splash pad are, playground and mini golf that keeps the kids buy for hours. They have a cafe with diy snow cones, snacks, hand helds and more. Our family of 5 bought the membership last month and it’s paid for itself plus already. Now we come all day or even for just a couple hours. Rainy days or sunny days you can always find things to do here.

Brought my 6yr old to see the dinosaur exhibit and we had a great time. Outside there is a nice area to interact with, mini golf, and a TON of hands on activities for the kiddos. We also saw a show in the planetarium that was great and much longer than expected. Will be back again!

A Captivating Day of Exploration and Fun at Cox Science Center and Aquarium If you're looking for an educational and entertaining outing for the whole family, look no further than Cox Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach. Our recent visit to this remarkable facility left us thoroughly impressed and excited to share our experience. Upon entering the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, we were greeted by a vibrant atmosphere filled with an array of exhibits and activities. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the traveling exhibit, "The Mind Bender Mansion." This unique and engaging experience challenged visitors, both young and old, with critical thinking puzzles and problem-solving games. The kids' faces lit up as they enthusiastically tackled each mind-bending challenge. Upon completion of the exhibit, they were rewarded with personalized certificates, adding an extra sense of accomplishment to their day. Beyond the captivating "Mind Bender Mansion," the Cox Science Center and Aquarium provided numerous opportunities for family bonding and entertainment. We ventured into the mini-golf area, which offered a delightful diversion for everyone. The inclusion of a splash pad was a masterstroke, especially during these hot summer days. The kids had an absolute blast splashing around, and it was a perfect way to cool off after exploring the various outdoor exhibits. Feeling hungry after a day of discovery and fun, we headed to the mini restaurant within the facility. While it may be "mini," the selection of snacks and refreshments was surprisingly diverse and satisfying. From quick bites to refreshing drinks, we found just what we needed to recharge our energy for more adventures inside. We timed our day according to the activities schedule from the front desk. Be sure to grab one to enjoy the extras. We got to make shark tooth necklaces and watched the aquarium animal encounter. One of the standout features of Cox Science Center and Aquarium was its commitment to providing an interactive and hands-on learning experience. Throughout the facility, there were knowledgeable staff members ready to answer questions and engage visitors in insightful discussions about marine life, scientific concepts, and the wonders of the natural world. This emphasis on education made the visit not only enjoyable but also enriching. In conclusion, our trip to Cox Science Center and Aquarium was an absolute delight. The "Mind Bender Mansion" exhibit was a highlight that encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fun and rewarding way. The mini-golf course, splash pad, and mini restaurant added a great deal of variety to the experience, ensuring that visitors of all ages had something to enjoy. With its dedication to interactive learning and family-friendly activities, Cox Science Center and Aquarium is undeniably a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike. We can't wait to return for another day of exploration and excitement! @kidsinflorida ig fbgroup: Things to do in Florida with kids #coxsciencecenter #mindbendermansion

Such a great, informational and fun time here. Smallish, for sure but that doesn’t diminish the impact their exhibits and installations have. The Hall of Heroes was fantastic and even as adults we had a great time and even learned a few things!

Great experience with my family! The fish seem well cared for. We watched them feed fish in one tank that had a few new fish recently added. One fish was still adjusting and harder to feed (other fish would snatch up its food quickly because he was still more reserved, so they attempted several times and worked together to make sure the fishy got his food - just strangely endearing and made me feel good.) The facility is very well kept with lots of fun hands on experiences for the kiddos. The science section and outdoor area are awesome as well. They had cool musical instruments, a physics play area, water pad, sand pit and the mini golf was included in general entry! We had a blast!

Fun place lots of entertainment for kids, tons of educational opportunities with the various exhibits they have. The aquarium has lots of interesting fish, frogs and even baby Gators!! A little expensive for what it was, but would definitely recommend it to anyone with small children, or the child in you!! #Localguide #daddydaughterday #love2learn #SFSC&A

(Translated by Google) Very interactive museum for children. There is an exhibition of super heroes where boys can dress up. While the museum is not that big, one can be like 4 hours since there are many games and the children are entertained. I went with my 4 and 5 year old nephews and they liked it a lot. I do not recommend the planetarium show at all. It is quite boring for children since the guide explains the stars and constellations that are being projected. Very didactic, lasts about 1 hour and is paid separately! I didn't like the aquarium either. The exhibition of the species is very varied but the space where they are is small, so it is likely that the animals are quite stressed. They could see accommodating them in more spacious places.

Very informative for all ages! We went to a birthday party. The party was in a private room for 2hours and after the kids explored the museum. The outside area was also very nice. My kids had a lot of fun at the splash area. Perfect for those who love dinosaurs!!

My 8 year old daughter blew through this place in under 15 minutes. She was more disappointed than the adults were. And she isn't hard to keep entertained. "Aquarium" is a total misnomer if not false advertising. There are bars in Florida with more impressive fish tanks. The bulk of the science center was based around comic book super heroes. Very few times, weak associations were drawn between superheroes and science. Moreover these superhero exhibits were the least interactive -same a couple. There were a few entertaining interactive exhibits, but nothing worth the time to find, much less the cost. Skip this so-called "attraction" and find something better to do with your family time. Don't say I didn't warn you!

We got there early @10 and literally no one was there which was perfect. It is fairly inexpensive to get in and the place was clean and had hand sanitizer stations everywhere. It was VERY interactive and there was so much activities for the kids ages 4-11. They did have a few exhibits closed but trust me it did not stop the fun with everything else they had to entertain. I had a blast with the water play area and the children enjoyed playing mini golf. We stopped at the gift shop and I spent $14 on gifts for 3 kids. Very affordable and very entertaining. This place deserves 10⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful location, one of the most well kept museums you can find. Everything in its place, everything up to code and clean. Love how the building is split into two, one side is an aquarium with lots of different sea creatures and the other side being more interactive science. The mini golf is such a great feature to top it all off. The only issue I’ve ever run into with the location is that the staff is a bit strict and don’t really seem to know how to properly interact with children, making my whole family feel very uncomfortable.

If you enjoy history and diving into a well-known historical event, the Titanic Artifact Exhibition is one to check out! I visited on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn’t too busy. I enjoyed that it was a self-guided experience where you can go at your own pace. There’s lots to read and learn about some passengers and crew. It truly was an experience, and the best part was the boarding ticket you received as a “ passenger ” and seeing if you survived the wreck. Overall, it was an eye-opening and complete experience that was beautifully curated! Highly recommend for history lovers and curious learners.

Clean, organized and interesting but brief and not that exiting. TITANIC the artifact exhibition was good but brief, a few pieces but not that immersive experience, I loved the ticket and the souvenirs, other than that I wouldn’t recommend driving more than 1 hour to get here unless you are a true fan or you are planning to visit the zoo and park.

This is a nice place to go for a break from the outdoor heat! It features an Aquarium, Hands on Exhibits, a toddler zone and alternating themes next to the food area. There is an outdoor splash pad for the littles and a wind tunnel too. It is a smaller science center but did the job for my group up to age 11. Keep an eye on show times because you can catch feeding times and other cool add ons 😎

Love this place. We were visiting from Michigan, we planned to go to the zoo,and saw this on our way in. Hate to say this but this science center is 10x better and funner than the zoo. My 7 years old daughter had so much fun,so did my 28 years old brother and parents.

We have enjoyed going to this museum many times over the years. We even had annual memberships for a few years. However, this time when we went, we were disappointed multiple times that a lot of the exhibits inside just weren't working. To name a few - the robotic arm inside the brain area, the traveling exhibit where two people use team work to move a ball, and the another traveling exhibit where you push buttons to see what the future was thought of in different years. There were other ones that weren't working also, but I can't think of which ones. Overall, we did still have a good time though and did find things to do. Highly recommend the pizza from the pizza truck that was there, it was amazing!

The younger children definitely enjoyed the site seeing. But as for adults, if your not into boring stuff don't go. Oh let me not forget, don't go here hungry. The snacks are ridiculously expensive.

  • 5/5 Sadia F. 1 year ago on Google
Great museum for kids. Tickets vary from $17.95 for kids over 3 years and adults $20.95 seniors $19.95, open till 5:30pm. They have extended outdoor area to a mini golf course and a splash pad area for kids with lots more science and dinosaurs playground. Love the aquarium section has a tank where u can see the fishes from inside by crawling under and getting inside. Also has a planetarium theater which have shows which is $5 more than your tickets. Definitely recommend taking your kids there that loves science things and dinosaurs along with things to learn about the earth.

This is a wonderful family day spot. It's a fairly small museum but the mini golf and splash area are a nice addition. The outside portion is very interactive as well. The spotlight exhibits are great. I cannot wait for the next one. The human brain installation is very interesting. It's a little pricey. I totally understand that museums need the support though. If you are a Bank of America member then wait for the museum weekend. It totally makes it worth it when you pay for the kids and not the parents. The one star drop is actually for the planetarium. It's only $5 and my daughter really wanted to check it out. I cannot pay for my family for an old large scale projector with soft brightness and contrast and low audio. I would pay a little more for an Imax quality audio and video for those movies. All said, nice excursion, only takes about 2-3 hours to do the whole place even with the mini-golf.

A great place to go with young kids. The center is on the smaller side. Really good exhibits if you’re thinking a local/neighborhood place. I appreciate that their were small interactive booths and a good number of staff on a weekday. Admission is a bit more than what I would like to spend for it. Aquarium tanks could definitely be cleaner.

  • 5/5 Amanda K. 1 year ago on Google
The aquarium area is small, but still enjoyable visiting. The observatory was closed during this visit. The museum was interesting with exhibits about the brain and it’s response. The mind bending activity room was a blast with the puzzles and challenges to complete. The final stage for photo gallery wasn’t working because the printer was out of ink. The price for adults $19.95 each. Family friendly and children are welcome in this museum.

Lot's of good 'kid' content. Too bad Covid-19 has limited or closed a lot of the interactive science stations. The aquarium was well presented. Sometimes the fish in the exhibits weren't the same ones listed as being there.

No enforcement of social distancing or mask wearing at all after assurance from staff that they do vigorously enforce it. Even manager giving private tour to (i assume) a potential benefactor stayed with in 3 feet of my family despite best efforts to get away. I’d say it was a solid 70/30 split between non compliance to compliance . If you are looking for safe place to bring family, this currently is not it.

However if your child likes to read and learn all kinds of new things you can spend hours here. We went during the covid disaster and it was still a great value. I felt safe and the staff was freindly. We didn't do mini golf this time or the planetarium but did watch a live science show. We will be returning and hope to do the things we didn't do today. Less than 28 bucks for the three of us.

This place is great, plus it is home to this hilarious fish that has a human looking grill lol. I wasn’t expecting so many interactive exhibits and Cox Science Center & Aquarium exceeded my expectations. We went ahead and bought annual passes because we’ll definitely be back regularly. Will also be back for the laser light show and the planetarium. Your kids will love this place. There is a big focus on conservationism which can be a depressing reminder of how bad we’ve trashed our only habitable planet for the sake of corporate greed and to make a small percentage of shareholders wealthy but it needs to be talked about. Everyone living in or visiting Palm Beach should make a stop at Cox.

My family love the South Florida Science Museum! We go at least a couple times a month. They have an aquarium section, an area with interactive activities, an outdoor playground, an outdoor area with a waterpark and full putt-putt golf course and a planetarium with different movies to watch. They also have a large section where they feature different exhibits at different times (e.g. they had a dinosaur exhibit a few months ago then a superhero exhibit, etc). Tons of fun for all ages.

Visited 8/29/20. If I could give it a 3.5 I would. Good price. Plenty of exhibits for kids. Geared towards kids so my two loved it. They are 9 and 5. I think the robotics area needs more pizzaz and more to do. I think the golf course is good and provides some shaded areas. I wish it had more “obstacles.” Like an old school mini golf place. They could incorporate scientific ideas into it. For example a pulley system. Or make giant beakers or something. So much they could do in the golf arena to incorporate science. Same with the splash pad. The area for under 6 was limited on our visit probably due to covid, so hard to judge it based on true capabilities, but from what I saw limited for sure. We watched the dynamic earth planetarium show. It was informative, but I was expecting more stars and galaxy before the show started. We were able to leave and come back In the same day for lunch. We spent about 2 hrs there before leaving for lunch. Then another 1 1/2 after lunch. Overall, I would visit again.

Love the dino exhibits and the variety of exhibits available! The outdoor area is great for kids to run around and learn about science! Great welcoming and clean atmosphere! Look forward to returning. The staff was very kind and friendly as well!

Be warned don't drive here looking at the website thinking you can go to a planetarium show without paying science museum ticket prices. We had a party of 8 it was going to cost us $150 to see a 26 minute show. There is no way you can buy a ticket to the planetarium without buying a ticket to the museum. Be warned.
