This museum is lovely for children under twelve and over age one year old. This is a children's museum for children and their parents who are there to supervise them. I paid for my ticket online before the doors opened for visitors. The best experience was the weather/news caster exhibit, otter living exhibit, the movie theater I watched a documentary that was included in my entrance ticket and one or two other exhibits. I did not visit the cafe or gift shop on site. As an adult this was very underwhelming for me. There's several outdoor spots for families to have lunch. I decided to go across the street to the beautiful open park. I sat under the pillars near the water fountain display and that gave me some vitamin d and a wonderful view of boats on the lake, people walking by and beautiful sky. I saw the taxi boats that tourists can pay to ride to different locations and restaurants. I will try when I visit fort Lauderdale again. There were public statues to take pics at, water fountains and restrooms. I didn't get the name of the park but it is directly across the street from this museum and made a great place to eat lunch and think about my next place to visit.

Great interactive museum for kids of all ages. This is a two story complex with an attached imax theater. In our visit, several exhibits were closed, so make sure to check the website in case there was something you were hoping to do. A nice plus to this museum is that the two motion simulators were free and no additional cost like some other museums. Overall, it was a good place to spend about three hours of fun, including one of the documentary imax shows.

Fantastic museum for kids! Very interactive, not busy during weekday. Great playroom and quiet room for babies. Loved our time here! Def recommend for families.

The museum was amazing and beautiful. My kids and I had a wonderful time, so much to do and exciting things for all ages. We will definitely go again. Highly recommend this experience for everyone! Plus they have two simulation rides that are so cute and so much fun. Our favorite one was the Great Wall of China.

Really cool and amazing place for the entire family! We all had a blast! The amount of activities and interesting information they have available is extensive. We went within the last 2 hours on Sunday and they stamped our receipt so we could return for free in the next 30 days. Definitely recommend the trip. Amazing experience with aerodynamics, dinosaur models, human physiology, and real animal exhibits.

I have seen many otters, but the pair of otters here are incredibly interactive ! There is also this sweet turtle that is incredibly responsive to humans in the ecological portion of the museum. I loved the displays given by Florida Power Light. My husband and I didn't have any time to see the 4D shows, but we did finish most of the exhibit quickly as we didn't have our kids. The museum is truly designed with kids in mind, and with that being said I can't wait to bring mine!

Great for kids to enjoy and learn in general. Parking is about $2.5 per hour, right next to the building. They have sections for younger kids, that was a plus. We also enjoy learning about the animals. Overall is a awesome place for kids.

Its a nice museum for young kids (2-10) with at-least 2-3hrs of entertainment not including the free i-max video (+45mins). So plan to pay for 3-4hrs of parking. It has 2 floors with activities and exhibits separated by areas. It also has a nice outdoor area with different activities. Less then 100$ for a family of 4. The exhibits are a big old and quite a few broken but the kids (especially my 4yr old) loved it and didn’t want to leave. Overall worth the visit of you are in the area.

Simply a great museum. Attached IMAX, separate areas for specific learning centers, more "active" and interactive learning museum than most. Excellent outdoor area as well. Warrants a family membership. Rotating exhibitions are frequent and diverse. Staff is generally a cut above. Only bad thing is their food offerings.

This is a great place for the whole family! Kids of all ages will find something to enjoy! There is a corner of wildlife, scientific facts, entertainment for logic, a couple of rides, beautiful exhibits with airliners (kids love to fly in air transport lol))), there are places where you can relax and sit while the kids are playing! Separately, I would like to be glad that on the territory of the museum there is a place for strollers, an elevator, an escalator and, of course, a children's entertainment area)). Parking is located next to the museum building (we were lucky 🥳 there were enough places). There is also a very cute gift shop on site with really useful and fun toys for kids! Our 6 year old daughter loved it! She was pleasantly impressed and loved every activity where she could prove herself! Thanks to the employee for an exciting activity with paper cups flying in the air mass))) In any case, if you want to keep the kids busy and relax a little, this is the perfect leisure

Today was a very surprising impressive display of an array of exhibits at the museum. There's was a lot to learn if one cares to regarding several disciplines from science to biology and anatomy to ecology to geology to environmental science to weather to health to ocean science and much more. There were several hands on exhibits (not every single one worked properly). Very family friendly environment. There are assimilated rides. There is an outside park with activities for children. The highlight exhibit was dinosaurs in motion. Since the last time I visited this museum they have enhanced and updated several areas which made this experience very inviting. Live animal displays. Children's educational sessions at certain times. Of course the inclusion of the Imax movie opportunity certainly adds to the overall experience. This museum makes for a perfect outing for the whole family, young and old. They converted their Subway to an adequate concession stand for movie goers or a cafe experience for a light meal. Wheelchair accessibility. Elevators and escalators for those who choose not to use stairs. Hand sanitizing stations. This museum is a must visit. Prices reasonable for what there is to see and do.

This seems to be the best place to take kids in Ft. Lauderdale. The facility has so many hands on stations for kids to enjoy plus a 7D theater ride (Toy Ride) which my great nieces and nephews enjoyed. We all enjoyed watching the Wings Over Water 3D. The kids absolutely loved Design Build Play and the outside playground. They also have a Discovery Center for kids 6 and under that is very nice and has a variety of things to do. They also have a gift shop but the prices are somewhat high. There are items for kids under $15 that are decent. The staff members are also very friendly and helpful. We arrived around 12:30pm and it was very crowded. By 3pm the crowd thinned out. My suggestion is to go around 3:30pm to avoid the crowd. It was so peaceful and no line to ride etc. This is a place for kids to have loads of fun while learning. I highly recommend visiting if in the area.

I went here with my 17 month old. I don't recommend coming here with a child that young but 4/5+ would have a fun time. There were lots of bigger kids running around and I was afraid she would get hurt if I let her out of the stroller. Although I did enjoy walking around learning things myself. One thing she did enjoy was the animals and the "sand pit"

Love this museum! We had such a good time we wound up going back the next day😄. It’s great for adults and kids alike, it’s informative, interactive, and overall a lot of fun. I personally like taking my time when I go to museums, so I would say it took us about 3-4 hours to look through everything, but it’s really worth it. They had fun simulations like a mars adventure and a roller coaster. Kids love it here! The customer service was also great, everyone was professional and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Lots of hands-on and educational exhibits for kids. There are a number of simulators that also make this a fun experience. They have IMAX theatres, a place for snacks and a decent gift shop. The atmosphere is nice. You could easily spend several hours here.

5/5. A friend and I got tickets for the party after dark gala and it was so fun!! Open bar every where, (Awesome) food was decent. They served chicken wings, paella, veggies and fruit. Photo booths were set up around with props to take funny pics. And even a candy bar!!!!! The event was set up so lovely. The best part of the night was the silent disco area, you could tell what channel other people were on due to the color on their head phones and my friend and I danced the night away in there with other amazing people!!!! SoOooo fun, we can't wait till next year

It's an ideal place for small kids. I made the mistake of creating high expectations based on my prior museum experience in cities like DC or New York, but to be fair it is a pretty good museum. I would have preferred if it had more space because the exhibits seem jumbled together. It has exhibitions pertaining to wildlife, dinosaurs, renewable energy, health, aviation and the sort. They have a cafe and a gift shop outside. I would not pay $24 again for it, that's for sure, but it serves its purpose.

If it's a rainy day and you need an indoor activity that will appeal to the kids, take them to the Museum of Discovery and Science. The museum is filled with so many activities, animals and exhibits, your kids may never want to leave. Get introduced to river otters, take a simulated airboat ride through the Everglades or learn more about Florida weather patterns at the Storm Center. Other must-visit spots in the museum include an aviation station, where kids can climb into the cockpit of a World War II fighter plane, and the fossil-filled Dino Boneyard. If that's not enough, guests can catch a flick at the 300-seat Imax theater, buy a souvenir at the gift shop or pick up a sandwich at the theater's snack stand. Whether you're traveling with or without kids, recent museumgoers highly recommend a stop at the property. However, some felt slighted that select parts of the already pricey museum cost extra to visit. Others noted that certain exhibits were outdated and in need of an upgrade, as some interactive features didn't function as promised.

Made it the last hour before clothes this museum has been open for a long time I visit here once when I was a child decided to take my daughter they have a few attractions that are being worked on but the main events like the storm center and IMX theater were wonderful along with our purchase for one day pass for the museum they gave us tickets for one IMAX show and that was very nice they have a lot of learning centers within the museum which were nice otters have been added and you can view the otters for my glass tank, I would love it if they added more dinosaur attraction to the museum however what they have is spectacular still for children. Follow me for more great reviews and give my post a like or two will return like for like.

Hello everyone, the other day we were in the museum, it was interesting for both children and us adults 🥰 There was a lot, but I took a picture of what I managed to do, I liked the cockpit and the big shark statue more. In the toilet, I did not like that the liquid soap was not fixed and for the children there was no small ladder for the sink, it was difficult for them to get it. In general, it was fun and educational.

The Saturday we visited, it looked like it was undergoing renovations and had a very small crowd. Surprisingly, even the famous outdoor clock in the patio was not working. We have enjoyed going here since this place was built. (First with my son and now with my 16 month old grandson.) It has been many years between the last visit to now. Based on what it used to be in its heyday, many if not all of the permanent exhibits desperately need a re-fresh. Several were not working and/or had missing parts. Staff was scarce and the few that were there looked overwhelmed trying to keep up with everything. A positive was that the animals in the exhibits were well cared for. It is shame the interest (or funding) isn't there to restore this treasure to the once thriving place it used to be.

Ended up checkin this place out after having lunch at a nearby restaurant. The huge building that pushes balls around on what looks to be like a huge roller coaster for balls, was what actually caught my eye. What was even better was that the entry tickets were free. I did go on a Saturday so that may have been why they were free. Either way, it was a cool museum with different types of live sea and land animals. It seemed to be mainly a kid environment, but it was still nice to walk around & the see the animals. Theres also an iMax an a cafe that is connected to the museum but I didn’t have the time to chance to check out. If you have kids this is a definite place to check out.

When looking for educational tourism for grandsons ages 9 and 11, Fort Lauderdale's Museum of Discovery and Science answered that quest perfectly. The family-friendly museum fills up an entire city block on two floors. I joined in the thrill of all the hands-on exhibits ranging from oceanography, geology, ecology, health, to aerospace. The enormous megalodon shark steals all the attention on the first floor. We built skyscrapers out of wood blocks. We tried our skills on astronaut life. There is more to do than one day affords! They also have an outdoor playground that demonstrates physical principles. A snack shop offers food on-the-go. A gift shop entices with creative souvenirs that takes science back home. An IMAX theater plays several amazing short movies. Parking is a snap with a big garage across the street.

We have come here many times over the years when the kids were young and now that the kids are older we watch for the traveling exhibits and look to see some of those. This particular visit we also saw a IMAX now playing motion picture which is a great way to see a high resolution movie. I highly recommend you visit MODS if you have kids under 11.

Museum is very cute but definitely geared towards younger children 0-10. My teens were less enthused although they loved the animals, the giant marble machine, and the cloud maker.

This South Florida field trip staple is still holding on, with some cute exhibits for kids of varying ages. Seems to lean mostly to the younger kid crowd, the toddler in our group had an absolute blast but I could see kids in elementary school and early middle school enjoying it too. The two stories feature exhibits about a bunch of things including a play area for the younger ones, some fish tanks of wildlife, a heavily branded broward health sponsored section about the human body upstairs, an aviation themed area, and what looks like a mars explorer ride for the older kids. Some of the exhibits are definitely a bit older, but others have been updated. The museum was clean and it was great to see the iconic clock up front still working. Parking is downtown Fort Lauderdale so prepare to pay to park in a garage or lot nearby.

(Translated by Google) Dear Friends. A proposal to have fun in a different way. You do not only need to spend in the shopping centers, here you will find fun for a whole day with your children, and as an adult you will also have fun, there is also a great cinema. Going to go is something fun, and in the same way you will learn a lot; You should be encouraged to buy your tickets online and you will not regret it. There are different rooms and environments in which you will spend a whole day entertaining and really dicipated, I am 35 years old and it seemed great to be in this place, resting from the shopping centers, the noise, the noise, and above all learning more about this wonderful country they have a lot to tell and they have a lot to learn. Additionally, you keep yourself from the heat of the city, you have a shop where you can kill your hunger and in the afternoon you can go to the cinema that has a spectacular screen and surround sound. As you will see in my photos, we spent three generations enjoying it, young people, adults and seniors and we all had a great time, it is a matter of changing the routine that they sell you as vacations. Again I tell you that you can buy your tickets online; enter summer past or search for it on the internet and you can purchase an additional ticket that along with that entry you acquire other wonderful places to visit in Miami and Fortlauderdale. In my opinion, I would visit it again and if I should return with other people, then I would let them know the museum since it was a great experience that left me with fond memories. (Original) Estimados Amigos.

It is the best science museum. The staffs are very friendly. The exhibitions appropriate for everyone. They were pilots, engineers, artists biologists etc. My 5 years daughter enjoyed a lot. And for us it was the right learning place to spend during our vacations. That was a really good experience. I love to repeat again to see my daughter smiling face. And my parents 73 years old also have a good time and they enjoyed the experience too. The exhibitions are designed for kids but I notice that was a really good therapy for older people special for my dad. The activities that he also participated put a smile in his face. It was better than a doctor visit. They were kids for a couple of hours. So thank you I hope we can flight again to this wonderful place.

First time coming here with our kids and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The staff is friendly and the exhibits are very hands-on for little curious minds. The littlest was only 3 months and even he was excited to see all the new sights and sounds. Great local family museum, would highly recommend. Cafe food is a little pricey, so I’d recommend packing a lunch and eating outside around the fountain.

I really like this Museum, they have a lot of interesting exhibits and a lot of places where my baby can play and learn something new as we play around. I didn't have time to check everything in detail, like those simulations, i tried couple of them. Will come here again, staff is very friendly and always ready to assist or help with some explanation about particular exhibit. My son and my wife were happy, that's the most important thing to me. Keep with good work! 🙂

Amazing museum! Fun for all ages, even my 9 month old enjoyed it. It’s very interactive and we would 100% come again, we came today because Bank Of America has their free museum days the first full weekend every month. There are animals such as alligators, otters, insects, spiders, horseshoe crabs. There were a few areas that were closed due to covid but it’s ok. We were surprised at how big it is!

We had an absolutely amazing experience. We went with our 3.5 yr old and 22 months old. They both loved it and were able to find new things to explore. There is a parking lot right across the street so you can pay for parking and cross the street. We loved all the different activities and the sprouting stem room is excellent for younger kids (there’s a diaper change station with wipes and tons of toys in the room). There was also a story time for the kids. We really enjoyed the play session especially with the water experiments and outdoors . It’s also amazing that it includes imax tickets. We watched the Blue Whale and it was wonderful. Everyone was so helpful and kind.

Me and my kids love this museum very much. we have been regular visitors for 6 years. I can say that my son grew up in the halls of this museum. in recent years, the exposition on the second floor has changed several times. but before our eyes, the first floor, especially the playground, has turned into a 99% worn-out attraction. the “orange juice” production chain simulator no longer works, the bricks for building walls are in a terrible state, also our favorite garbage man talks about how to sort garbage, it is dusty and dirty. flight simulators on the top floor have also been out of service for several years (green plane) please renovate your old halls they are beautiful, useful and necessary for our children from Broward County. thanks for your hard work!

I loved this place! My daughter on the other hand was scared of everything except the craft area and the playground she loved those. A few of the exhibits were closed (I'm assuming because of the virus) but it was my first time going there and I still had fun eventually my daughter did too. I'm sure if every was open we could have spent all day there instead of 4 hours.

This place is frozen in time, it's lush and luxurious Florida 100 years ago. The house and grounds make for an enjoyable botanical experience. There's one monkey remaining swinging in the trees, and we were fortunate to see her near the Cafe while drinking a cold beer. The Bonnett House has an intriguing story, and the staff are well versed in its lore. We also paid $5 for a private golf cart tour of the estate, 35 acres in all. It's hard to believe such a pristine place exists in the heart of Ft. Lauderdale. It's a nice 2 hour outing if you're looking for something leisurely and beautiful.

This is a children's museum with a lot of interactive exhibits catering to children. They have an IMAX theater showing several different documentary style features and some full-length features such as the new Avatar movie. Good place to take the kids, and adults can enjoy it too. Senior and Military discounts, and if you are a member of Bank of America, you get in free. Pricing is reasonable and will not break the bank for large families.

Very fun place for walking toddler. I went with my 18 month old and there was a lot for here to do. They had kids slides, blacks, small animals, hurricane and tropical storm simulations. She even went on one of rides with her dad. The place was very clean and even tho it was busy there was enough things to do to keep the place looking like there wasn't much people. I saw they also had places designated only for little kids but I didn't go in. The entrance was only $2 if you had your foodstamps card. Great place for toddlers don't recommend for 12 and up unless their going with smaller siblings.

Great place for young children. Theres areas to explore inside and outside. I suggest being there for 2hrs and 30 minutes to 3 hours visit. In order to enjoy everything and if you have several children. There's 2 stories of fun things to do and animals to see. I suggest waiting till the end to allow your children in the play area since it's closed off and they can run around. There's also a theater in the premises and a gift shop.

They get sold out and kids love this interactive area. You will also see alligators, turtles, python, fish and oters. They have two simulator on the second floor a toy ride and rover recommend both. In addition they run movies in their IMAX.

This was a great experience for our 4yo. So many interactive experiences and he enjoyed them all. It’s very clean, organized, and friendly staff. We live in Doral and would consider a day trip to here as we could spend all day enjoying the activities. Don’t forget the park out back!

We had the best time here! Went with 3 kids, ages 4-6, and easily spent 4 hours here without getting bored. We only left because parking was running out and it was getting late and we had to get back to Miami. Between the kids room at the beginning, the Everglades animals and otters, and the flight simulators our kids had a blast! We had a great time. Not a lot of food options so that could improve, but overall a great way to spend a day in South Florida.

A small but very cozy zoo. Very kind, pleasant workers. It is evident how they love and care for animals. We spent only half an hour there, that's enough. The road took more time there. I think it makes sense at the visit to take private communication with animals. Or come with the school class just for learning.

Fun things to do with the grandkids on rainy days in Fort Lauderdale. Went to see The dinosaurs, except for the one head none to be found. The girls stayed busy with lots of hands-on activities. In a nutshell, a successful day.

Got free entrance because of a special deal this weekend for being members with Flamingo gardens. We were here couple years ago. In comparison it was much better couple years ago. Not because the activity center was closed due to COVID19, but because the activities areas that was open was not maintained. Many equipment was broken or defective, i.e. many flight simulators not working, outdoor ball shooter, sun spotter and bottle rockets, etc. My children are small and didnt mind but Im not sure how happy I would be if I had to pay full price. The best part of this trip were the robotic moving dinosaur exhibits and the scarf activity were it sucks it up travels around clear tubes and shoots it back out, and the crafts and art area. Kids enjoyed that alot.

Clock meets abacus meets Mousetrap TM the board game meets croquet, in one massive installation in front of the door. Pretty cool.

We love the IMAX theater here; it's real IMAX, not what you see at normal movie theaters. We haven't made it to the museum yet, but we plan to. What we could see if it in going in/out of the theater was awesome.

The Museum was a nice activity to do now, because of the Pandemic we've been indoors a lot. I decided to go somewhere where there we no crowds, and this worked out perfectly. Everyone kept their mask on, and we were able to see all the expositions keeping our social distance. Right now they have dinosaurs which are electronic and move. Pretty cool for kids and adults alike.

Watched Tenet in the IMAX. Totally awesome sound! I felt like I was vibrating in some of the battle scenes. It is well set up for the pandemic as the seats are segregated in groups of two with plenty blocked off for social distancing. Someone had a extra ticket they left at the boxe office so one of us was free!

It's a nice place mainly for children and they need more exhibits. It was maintained clean, staff was friendly and they had their masks on correctly.

Great museum for the kids, lots of hands on stuff. I especially liked the Aviation area where you can get into different simulators and fly around. The outdoor area with hands on experiments were very cool and educational as well.

Love the learning aspect for all ages! Great atmosphere (although it certainly felt warm in the building) and a great variety of exhibits. Would like to see some newer exhibits as some of the exhibits have been there for many years. Enjoyed it but not sure I would return for the same exhibits. Loved the weather science, outdoor area, and the airplane exhibits!

This is a must. If you haven’t visited this museum you are definitely missing out. It’s one of a kind in Fort Lauderdale and can be lots of fun for kids and adults all ages. High recommend.

Awesome awesome awesome! Can’t say enough about this place. It has something for all ages. Interactive exhibits. My 5 year old grandson had a blast. It’s fun and educational! The tickets even included a 2 D movie. They have live spiders, snakes and a couple marine life exhibits. The parking is easy and convenient. It was too hot for us , but they have a cool play ground.

This was my first time here and I absolutely enjoyed the experience. I had a good time all while learning about weather, science and nature. This place did a wonderful job with the layout and ' The Arctic 3D ' IMAX movie was very informative. If you are looking for a place to visit, please give this place a try. Thanks guys.

We had a wonderful time here. Our child loved all the hands on activities and how everything was crafted to her age. The staff here was wonderful especially Liz Medina. She made our trip very well worth the drive and made our visit here very memorable. She was the shining star of the staff here. We would go back and enjoy the museum again.

Excellent day out for the children and whole family. My only concern was that they didn't seem to be managing the amount of people in the museum or any ongoing cleaning of the exhibits. They also list the exhibits on the website but when we arrived a bunch were closed including the ones suitable for my children. If this was listed on the website or outside at the ticket office, it may have changed my mind about actually visiting the museum. I'm scoring it a 4 because my daughters had a blast especially my 3 year old.

I'm 19 and my girlfriend is 18 and we both absolutely loved it! Definitely more for kids as this place can be an absolute jungle gym of children during the busier hours but not bad at all. Some of the things to do there were broken as well which kinda sucked. Also, wish one turtles had more room because the one didn't have any resting stone. He just literally had to stay swimming which was really sad. But overall and fun experience especially for kids.

This place is amazing! I love how they accommodated my stroller for the theater and they had so many activities for my kids to play! If you haven't already check this place out!!!

The entrance is impressive, the first floor is the most fun with the aquarium and the food and sand part, that was what was expected upstairs. The second floor is not worth it, the part of the astronauts and the dinosaurs is nothing special. The children enjoyed playing in a wooden ambulance. We did not see the Imax but our 6 years old came with the school and said it was very dark and long. The soda fountain only had hotdogs and snacks. The staff is not friendly.

Great spot, they need to gut and redo the animals though. Sad how some of them are living: I wanted to rescue the bunny. 😞

A lot of fun even for teens but no enforcement of masks and a kid grabbed a turtle and we had to tell her to put it down.
