I want there on a whim..I was very surprised and delighted as to how historic and informative it was. We had a guide and he was very informative. His enthusiasm and knowledge was incredible. I do wish the ac was working better. Someone or some company needs to invest in this historically well presevred place as it is a part of American history. I was very pleased!

The Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum had been on my "must see" list for a long time and during a recent trip to Florida, my husband and I were finally able to go. We cannot say enough great things about the museum, volunteers, exhibits, and pure heart and dedication that was present during our visit. We wish that we lived closer because we would love to be frequent visitors and volunteers but we hope that everyone will make this an essential stop if you are in the Fort Lauderdale area! Thank you to the hard-working and dedicated staff who gave us an excellent walk-through tour, answered our questions, and even gave us something very special related to my husband's service that we will treasure forever. Keep up all your hard work and know that there are people out there (of all ages!) that appreciate what you do and will carry the torch of NEVER FORGETTING as the years go on!

I love this place. A senior lady who used to work as a commercial pilot gave us a wonderful tour. They take such good care of the items in the museum. It really shows a community of pilots and people into Naval History. We had such a wonderful time in this small museum filled with rich history.

Had an excellent time! Our tour guide (I apologize for not remembering his name, I'm bad at that), was amazing. It is free of charge. I will encourage buying aomething at their store or donating. Lots of history, stories, pictures, airplane and ship models, and pictures. It will take around 30-40 minutes.

There is a true Hidden gem in F.t Lauderdale. In the Form of a Navy Museum behind the airport it has a super interesting and rich history. I enjoyed it so much. It had such an Awesome staff, and the charm of a much Grander Museum. I absolutely loved this place.

We need to do everything to preserve this hidden Jewel. What a fantastic experience, short and sweet but a very rich history which the local community must fight to keep around. Large corporate interests uninterested in the preservation of American History are trying to push it out of existence and if we lose it it would be an absolute shame. It's a great place to stop by for anybody in the area interested in Naval and US History

I wish I remembered the gentlemans name that gave me the tour. His dad was the roommate/friend of the Steve Jurika JR. He was so nice! The tour wasn't too short, nor too long. It just stunk because my kids were grumpy (nap time missed) & I wanted to do more. They have a TON of pictures, uniforms, NEWSPAPER ARTICLES FROM WW2, & more memoribilia. I recommend taking a second walk through after the tour in order to really take everything in. It is a small building with so much history literally covering all the walls & floor space. I definitely recommend. They also work off of donations. So it's completely free. But I donated anyway.

Little museum packed with artifacts of history. Driven by volunteers, who are extremely nice and knowledgeable. Check out the last log of Flight 19 that was sent from that base and disappeared off Bermuda Triangle. Also a room full of memorabilia of George HW Bush who was stationed there once. Don't expect large airplanes, but this little gem will provide your family with interesting historical tidbits... Worth a detour!

This is free to the public but please leave a donation. Naval Air Station building from the 1940's. Lots of historic artifacts here. Veterans give you a tour of the facility then you can walk around at your leisure. Wish the County would put more funding into it or maybe the Navy. If you like military history you'll like this. Takes about an hour.

You know all those TV shows and Movies about the Bermuda Triangle and the disappearance of Flight-19? Where this is where many of them come first in their research. This is the unofficial home of all things Flight-19. They also do a bang up job representing the history of World War II especially when seen through the eyes of the former Naval Air Station and local inhabitants housing a myriad collection of uniforms an ephemera. In addition they must have the largest and finest collection of miniature model aircraft on the East coast. A great place to visit some history.

Very small but very informative. The old men there (with all the respect they deserve) very very nice, attentive, respectful. They are happy to share the knowledge they have about the place and the displays. Very positive and interesting experience... this place, as important as it is, should be better known to the world. Very happy I went there .... and it's free!

Absolutely amazing experience! Greg was the best tour guide ever and he explained everything so consice, I was so interested! It's free to go, but you can make a donation which I definitely did just because the effort in this museum is so amazing and everyone there are volunteers and vets themselves. Great evening learning and looking at all the model planes. 😀 thank you guys for your service and passion ❤️

This museum sparks interest in EVERYONE! In my opinion, one of the greatest museums I have been to. Every one of their guides is super knowledgeable. I was super surprised my friend, who couldn't care less about history, actually enjoyed the museum just as much as I do. It is full of history left and right and is definitely a hidden gem. Highly recommend.

This is an awesome place to visit. Don't let the outside fool you. There are no actual planes here, but there are models. The caretakers are so knowledgeable and tell you about everything! Totally loved it! Only open weekends and is by donation.

👍👍 Cool place to watch the planes coming and going. This was also where many planes like the F-22 were based for the air show.
