I love that place! Amazing park with birds, trees and flowers. We spent there about 3 hours just working and enjoying the views and atmosphere. Employees really do the great job with love to nature. Also we visited small and cozy museum house, it was nice and very friendly. We will definitely come back)))

This place is super cool. All donation based and relatively cheap for admission. The peacocks are just free roaming so you can get as close as you want to them. As well as the iguanas and the lizards. The trolly ride is free and very cool. The show was also cool. I would definitely come here again, it seems like they do care for the animals unlike some zoos.

What a fabulous place to visit. We brought our young kids (9 and 5) And had such a fun time. So much to see from all sorts of birds, panther, alligators, eagles and more. The botanical gardens are beautiful and well kept. The history behind the property was very interesting, especially visiting the old family house. They've done an excellent job maintaining this property. A must visit!!

Nice place to spend time if you have kids. Tried the pizza from the cafe and the kids enjoyed it. A good variety of animals and birds. Our tour guide was very nice and informative on the shuttle ride around the gardens. We loved seeing the peacocks upclose. Wish they had more alligators that wee visible easily!

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The only place I know of where you can feed the flamingos. For a buck you get a bag and they will even eat it out of your hand. They a black bear, panther, alligator and a great place to watch the otters above and below the water. There is a historic house to visit where the interior has stopped in time. Don't miss to take the guided tour tram of the property. I had Mike who was very informative. I would recommend checking this place out.

What a gem! Mature gardens with beautiful peacocks & a butterfly house. There was a wedding that going to happen soon. This is a look back to some old Florida that is being preserved. Very reasonable admission prices.

Seriously a must visit park that was a ton of fun. Tons of beautiful flora, animals, interaction with the peacocks was amazing. Absolutely exceeded my expectations and you could have fun whether you’re a young child or an adult. The animal show with rescued wild animals and their handlers was a ton of fun. Feeding the peacocks using flamingo food was great as well. Reasonable entry ticket pricing as well with plenty of parking.

I loved this garden. Parking was a breeze. The staff was nice and the tram ride took a load off of my feet. Fortunately for me the weather was nice, cloudy and no rain. The staff clearly loved their jobs and taking care of rescued animals. I spent more time there than I thought. It's shaded in most areas.

We had a truly magical experience at this place. My kids absolutely loved it, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The real enchantment for us wasn't the flamingos, but the freely roaming peacocks. Their beauty and charm added an extra layer of delight to our visit. We highly recommend allocating at least 6 to 7 hours to fully savor the experience. It's worth the time, considering the joy it brings, especially with the enchanting peacocks. Don't miss the opportunity to feed the flamingos – it's a unique and enjoyable activity. Make sure to grab food packets at the entrance for just a dollar each. Feeding the flamingos added a fun and interactive element to our visit, creating lasting memories. Lastly, the free parking was a pleasant surprise, especially considering it's a rarity in Miami. Overall, a delightful outing that we highly recommend for families.

What a GREAT experience! Took my boyfriend there for his birthday. He loved it. We had so much fun walking around and seeing all the animals. We even fed the ducks right out of our hands. The tram tour was fun too. The staff in the gift shop we're so friendly and nice. Only negative was the smoothies were not so great.

I absolutely LOVED this park!!! I believe the staff love their work as well, they were all in good spirits & gave thorough information to make sure you enjoyed yourself, from the tram driver, the aviary guide, even the food staff. The gardens, the fruit trees, banyan trees are plentiful! The animals seemed larger than life, especially that alligator, and peacocks are all over. The lake with the swan, relaxing. Worth way more than the $20 to get in!!!!!!

I’ve lived in the Davie/Fort Lauderdale area for over 20 years and has never visited. It is a great botanical garden and animal sanctuary to visit as well as learn about our local history. The grounds are well kept. The tram is a nice tour you don’t want to miss. It is a very shaded park so you don’t have to worry much about the sun. Almost all animals were in their cages and very easy to spot/see. They also have a gift shop with many souvenir options. I would recommend this park if you feel like taking a stroll outdoors and see some animals and interesting plants along the way.

Beautiful and fun place for the whole family. Don't miss the schedule. When they feed the wildlife, the staff introduces the animals, such as James, the flamingo (last photo) . Had a chance to speak with a tram guide, I was told the cats there were abandoned, then they take care of them - neutering and feeding. It's an animal sanctuary, they do such amazing work taking care of those animals.

Wished I could have spent more time here but was on a visit from a Princess Cruise ship. 60 acres of gardens with exotic plants growing in the wide. So much to see. A large gift shop with a lot of interesting gifts. Lots of parrots and a new aviary for butterflies. Lots of parking with toilets for disabled as well. And of of course the large flock of Flamingos.

Wonderful place! So much to see. Love all the animals and plants. Peacocks walking all around. They even ate the special food from my hand (buy there for only $1/bag). The tram ride was really informative, and great for kids. The aviary was my absolute favorite! Loved being in the aviary with the birds all around free. Highly recommend!

This garden has a vast variety of plants and trees from around the world. They were planted in specific areas, so they are not spread out at random. You will find all kinds of birds well kept. But the ones you will find roaming around are the peacocks. They own the place. Such a lovely place to spend time with your beloved ones. A must!

This was such a pleasant surprise! The gardens were unbelievably beautiful and so many varieties of trees from all over the world! The flamingos were so much fun to feed and the peacocks roaming and gardens were fun to watch. My kids loved every minute of it. The staff were all nice and very helpful. There's a tram that had lots of good information about the history of the property and the family that started it all. So much fun! Well worth the price of admission!

This botanical garden & animal sanctuary is truly a one-of-a-kind gem. There are too many gorgeous flowers, exotic trees, and amazing animals to count here--one could easily spend a whole day wandering the grounds and not see everything. The aviary is especially impressive and includes a broad variety of fascinating birds of prey, and their orchid collection is stunning. During our visit, every staff member we encountered was immensely helpful, polite, cheerful, and friendly. This is definitely a wonderful place to bring kids, visitors from out-of-town, and anyone else who wants to spend a fun day surrounded by nature.

The place is nice. It has a nice parking lot, it's pretty easy to access. You can buy or scan the tickets pretty fast too. The lights are magical and they had live music which was very cool. They sell some smores around.

Amazing place and staff. We enjoyed a guided walking botanical tour with one of the volunteers and we were so impressed by the knowledge of our guide. Also we took the tram tour and once again the guide was fantastic! I also highly recommend visiting the Wildlife Encounter where we learned so many great things about some of the wildlife we can encounter in our areas. We also were able to visit the temporary show of "Gardens of Lights" and it was beautiful and so well designed! I definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area, you won't regret it!

Highly recommend for anyone with kids! It could even be a cute place for a date as well. The garden is beautiful and huge. There is a tram that can take you around the property if you don’t want to walk the entire time. There is food and drinks so you don’t have to bring your own food in although you can if you prefer. I definitely recommend bringing water if you don’t bring anything else in. There are peacocks free roaming throughout the property and a LOT of caged birds so it can be a little smelly but that is to be expected obviously.

Was lots to see and explore. My favorite part is the river otter exhibit. There is about half a dozen and I could watch them all day without being board. Lots of variety with species and a tram tour is included in the price. Is just under $20 a person with tax, but we spend 4 hours there easily. Would definitely revisit.

This place is awesome! It is not a tourist trap. It is family oriented but also great for adults. It seems to be family or volunteer run and the people that are there seem to love the visitors and the animals I really think of it more as a mini zoo. If you go be sure to take the tram ride it is included with your price of admission and very informative. It will take you to places that you probably wouldn’t walk to. I also want to mention that if you’re a member of another museum or zoo you may have a reciprocal membership with them. We love our reciprocal membership if you enjoy visiting places it’s worth joining a local museum/art gallery/zoo which offers reciprocal memberships to other facilities. This means that you may get into other facilities for free or half-price. I might even suggest that you consider becoming a member of this place. We went to visit them because they’re on our reciprocal membership list from our museum in Jacksonville.

Great venue, plenty of shade. I think it serves as a nice arboretum. They do offer trolley tours, they have a gift shop and a snack shack. It’s a nice park area to sit and enjoy. They do have some mammals, not so thrilled by it to be honest. So many peacocks that I would rename the place as peacock arboretum. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I decided last minute to go, as I've never heard of this place before. I absolutely loved it. Flowers and other plants are stunning, the otters are adorable and I've never seen so many peacocks in my life! Definitely a trip I'll repeat, was pleasantly surprised by my visit. I also loved their nature show.

This was a cool experience with some neat history. Got to feed some flamingos, see a neat nature show, look at all sorts of different plants and learn about them. You will need to plan about two or three hours to get the full experience and walk around but I recommend this place for sure. It seems like they actually care about the wildlife.

Flamingo gardens is one of my favorite places, we visit every time we are in South Florida. Not only is it a beautiful little zoo and a fun place to spend a few hours, they also do so much to rehabilitate wild animals and educate the public. It feels really good spending my money here :) My 6 year old daughter loves it here as much as I do. She especially likes feeding the birds, the tram tours, the French fries, the pressed pennies in the gift shop, the wildlife shows, going inside the giant banyan tree, the wooden cutout photo-ops, and the many cats and peacocks that roam the property.

This is a nice human-sized park. It’s really peaceful just walking through the park and botanical garden. The tram ride is a little on the short side but you get to drive through a mini rain forest which is pretty cool! The river otters are a lot of fun to watch! Be sure to catch their feeding time!! We didn’t get to see Josh the bear and the bobcat and panther were a little shy but they have beautiful birds (in cage for the birds of prey and roaming through the park for the peacocks and ibises!!), and alligators, tortoises, and of course Flamingos!!! The animal encounter were fun and educational (we got to see a Burmese Python, a black vulture and a baby alligator up close!) The little museum is a nice way to see how they lived back in the 30s. Would definitely come back!

You will need at least two hours to soak everything in and enjoy the nature. It’s time and money worth spent. Very beautifully maintained and during Christmas holidays the lighting adds to your experience. You should definitely attend wildlife encounter show and take a tram ride that covers most of the massive acres of greenery and wildlife. You will see peacock, bob cat, black bear, wild birds, exotic birds, native plants and trees, parrots, panther, ducks, alligators, birds of prey, otter, turtles and many more. The food and drink in the garden is reasonably priced and there’s plenty of free parking around. If you are a senior or military, you also get discounted tickets.

Super cute place to visit if you're in the area and looking for something for the entire family! Lots of walking so wear comfortable shoes and don't forget your camera! So many beautiful photos to capture! The open area reminds me of Hawaii! Beautiful peacocks to walk amongst! Highly recommend! There's a tram ride included with your entrance fee that will take you on a 20 minute ride throughout the park. There are restrooms, benches and plenty of open areas to sit and enjoy the park. There's a cute playground for kids, snack shop with a variety of food and drinks and restrooms!

Beautiful presentation and friendly staff, but in my opinion, a little to expensive for what it is. In regards to specimens, there really wasn't anything "exotic". I could get everything at a lower price at home depot, which is saying a lot. Non-plant related items are where this place shines! I'd pass on the plants, or go to FL Nursery Mart for better variety.

Very nice preserve for protected native Florida wildlife. Amazing variety of both animals and plants. Great gift shop. There is an outdoor snack bar. The bus tour within the park is a must (very educational) and is included in the price of admission. Most of the workers are volunteers. Buy some bird food at the front entrance for a fun experience up close with any and all of the free roaming birds. They eat right out of your hand.

Absolutely lovely day excursion for a family, couple or single traveller. The botanical gardens are beautiful to enjoy a walk in. There are several animals that have been rehabilitated ranging from native Florida birds to reptiles, and mammals like river otters and bears. Be sure to walk through the historical Wray home to experience what FL was like in the 1930's. This was a really wonderful experience and I look forward to returning soon.

This is perfect for family outings! They officer military discounts too 🙂. Load your stroller with snacks and water because there is plenty to walk and see. There’s even an educational show where the kids may interact with the animals and ask questions. The staff is very helpful. Bring your cameras for great photo opportunities. There’s even a trolly rides that gives you a tour of the park grounds. You can also walk the same trail and even set up a picnic under the beautiful trees. There’s a banyan tree where they host weddings that is truly magical 🥰. Enjoy!

This place is incredible and the staff is amazing! We visited from Michigan and happened to stumble across this place on one of our last days in the area. It was cool and rainy, but that didn't stop us! We had the whole place to ourselves, and even got a private tour through that back half of the grounds - even saw the elusive Soft Shell turtle! The variety of fauna and flora was awesome - especially the birds! But ... Make sure you check out the otters, super cute and entertaining!

It was an interesting place to visit. Beautiful grounds and very pretty flowers. Lots of Banyan trees and one that is huge! The enclosures where the Otters and Black Bear are seemed like they needed an update. The tram tour was interesting but a little difficult to hear and understand the details. I think there are too many cars behind the tram which makes the road seem even more bumpy and uneven plus it makes it noisy. Alyce is a volunteer and she is very knowledgeable about the plants and trees. She walked with us for a while and her information was very interesting. I think they should look into having small walking tours with guides that explain about the interesting things on the paths of the garden.

I am convinced that this is the most magical place in the world. I pet ducks, cats, snakes, and flamingos (for the first time EVER, mind you), and even hand-fed the flamingo and the ibis birds. I saw a whole bunch of amazing animals such as peacocks up close, and took a really informative tram ride throughout the park. I knew I was in for a treat when I first found this place online, but my expectations were blown away and I spent the day as happy as I could possibly be despite it being boiling hot outside. I unfortunately didn't get to see the rest of the park, but that just gives me even more of a reason to come back. I think this is one of my new all-time favorite places. Thank you, Flamingo Gardens, for the highlight of my year so far!!

Flamingo gardens, what can I say? I mean, the experience was great. We went with our school on a field trip and the different animals to see was cool! We saw birds of prey like the bald Eagle and Red-Tailed Hawk and snakes as well. You know, everything was pretty cool to experience. It was definitely a great time. The children were amazed, asked questions and had a great time. Playing. and meeting and seeing a panther for the first time. His name was buddy. It was really good. Really dope. Thus anyone wanting to go, I highly recommend it. You can go alone, with your spouse or as a family adventure. Mind anyone can actually go and have your imaginations come yo life!! the Flamingo Gardens was absolutely an experience to remember.

Interesting ride if you have an interest in plants and fruit.

If you are planning a field trip or an activity this is a great place to visit for children or those who are fascinated by nature. I've been here a couple of times, one was during a field trip for school and the other was with some friends. Admission is a bit expensive though, I think there are certain days where admission is free, but those days it will be very busy and a lot of people may block the exhibits. There are lots of exhibits to explore and it is a great learning opportunity as well.

This is the place to visit to see whatever you enjoy. There's a wonderful variety of rescued animals and birds, as well as birds that choose to stay for the sanctuary and free food. Be sure to see the playful otters and Josh the bear! The informative tram ride provides a chance to see and learn about a wonderful variety of plants as well as the history of the gardens. Be sure to visit the Wray Home Museum to get a glimpse into life in South Florida in the 1930's. I love having a membership so I can just wander the grounds whenever I want.

My family and I truly love Flamingo Gardens. There are BEAUTIFUL GARDENS and RESCUE animals everywhere. They have beautiful birds like Hawks, Owls, Parrots, Flamingos, and Peacocks. Pleanty of other animals too like otters, gators, and turtles. We feel like we're not in the suburbs! Perfect place to escape from the day to day chaos. We come at least twice a week. We purchased the annual membership and are so HAPPYwe did!

This place is magical. The gardeners have gone through extensive lengths to raise orchids, bromeliads, ferns and epiphytes all across the extensive grounds creating the space to be lush, dense, and full of detail not to mention along with rare species of plants! It also includes an aviary where they help rescued birds and allow visitors to feed the flamingos.

For this to be flamingo gardens there aren't many flamingos. The peacocks 🦚 stole the show as they roost in the trees and strut around. Wide variety of tropical plants. Take the tram tour to get a feel for the place -just don't sit behind the truck as the fumes are bad.

Been here twice with the whole family, have LOVED it both times. 100% one of the best values for the money for a family outing. The wildlife is INCREDIBLE. Come for the otter enclosure alone, the kids will be mesmerized for a long time (and you will be too), and stay for everything else. The shows are intimate and interesting with close encounters that are safe, and the roaming birds like ibis and peacocks (including a white peacock!) make the experience immersive. They have live music sometimes at the on site museum just outside of it. The gift shop has fun stuff including some fun wine accessories that are animal based and seem to keep my wife looking forward to checking it out each time. You can also purchase food that is safe for the animals. Truly I love this place more than any zoo I've been to, the plant life is its own attraction especially their incredible natural trees that are impossibly beautiful. You miiiiight want to eat before or after you come, however. The food options are limited, not available during the entirety of open to close, and take a long time to prepare. I'm leaving animal photos out of my review out of respect to the business owners. It's worth a visit to see for yourself!

I did not at all expect the outstanding plant collections here - yet another South Florida botanical gem! The tram tour guides (I had Carol) were extremely knowledgeable. The croton collection is worth seeing if you’re into tropicals, not to mention the palms, international cycad collection, and vast array of fruit species. Many champion trees too! Will be back when I have a few more hours to poke around.

Well I had a pretty great day at flamingo gardens but hadn't been there in a long time but went there this past Sunday but the only thing that it was too hot out! 🥵 although their were some shaded area's but the rest of the place was fun.🙂

  • 5/5 Hans J. 2 years ago on Google
Enjoyable. We took a long stroll through the back but you can also take a tram. Photographers can get good closeups of birds here. Don't forget to look at some of their champion trees in the front. Military discount.

  • 5/5 R M. 2 years ago on Google
this place is truly surreal whether you are a local or a visitor. the wild roaming peacocks are everywhere - feels like at least 100 on the grounds - they will eat right from your hands it is truly amazing. the trees, flowers and other plants they have are massive, beautiful and in many cases rare - from the rainforests of the world over the pond and in South America. the animal exhibits are also great- from a bear, to an awesome entertaining otter area, gators, bobcat panther and turtles among more. they have many beautiful birds of prey from eagles, hawks, to owls. there is also a walk-in aviary where you can get close to many birds including Walter the grumpy massive pelican and walk around and feed them. there is much more and words can't describe the experience and how connected you can become to nature when you are there. we became members after the first trip as the kids loves it too and visit a couple to a few times a month as it never gets old. highly recommended.

  • 5/5 Rizelle V. 2 years ago on Google
It’s a hidden gem. I wish I had more time to explore the place. They have orchids, animals such as birds, a bear, flamingos, and lots of ducks, and peacocks. They offer tram tours as well. The place seems to be well maintained. The entrance fee costs about $20. 😊

  • 5/5 Lisa L. 1 year ago on Google
I went there in early April, 2022. I had an amazing time! The animals and plants were amazing. The organization functions largely as a clinic for animals who can return to the wild after healed, but they also provide a safe haven for animals that are not able to return to the wild. Extremely knowledgeable tour guides and kind staff. If you have a late flight from Fort Lauderdale, it is a great way to spend the afternoon. They have a complementary place you can leave your luggage so you can enjoy the park freely and unencumbered. There is a cute house/museum there with lots of early 1900 furnishings. They have shuttled tours and walking tours and you can also walk around on your own. There are places to get a variety of sandwiches and snacks too. They also had lots of orchids and a beautiful orchid photography exhibit.

  • 5/5 Gyongyi V. 2 years ago on Google
Love this place! It’s the perfect place to show kids animals without taking them to an actual zoo. The peacocks are walking freely and they are beautiful. The little tram ride gives a lot of information on the gardens. We go back a few times every year.

We visited Flamingo garden as it was included in our summer adventure pass. It's worth visiting only once . It's a beautiful garden with different species of birds, exotic flowers and trees. There are also rides that run every hour and take you through whole garden. Children will enjoy this place. Flamingos are in one small section but there are lot of peacocks and they are used to humans. It's a beautiful place for picnicing. There is one food truck and ice cream shop inside.

This was my husband and mine first time at Flamingo Gardens. We absolutely loved it! The beauty of this peaceful haven draws you in. The place is like eye candy. From the orchids to the lego exhibit, we couldn't get enough . The peacocks roam wild, so smaller kids may be scared. You're able to purchase food to feed the Ibis and There are so many opportunities for photographs. It is well maintained. We'll definitely return. I highly recommend Flamingo Gardens.

We bought the Ft Lauderdale Sightseeing Pass and admission was included. I was surprised at how cool this place was. The botanical gardens were really amazing. All the plants and flowers were interesting. There's the house originally owned who started the preserve and it explains the history of the place. There are lots of animals roaming the grounds, Peacocks, chickens, other birds and lizards of course. They have animal exhibits for more wild animals, like a small zoo. At the time we went there were a lot of Lego sculptures throughout the garden of different animals, that was really cool. It was a very nice place to visit. Lots of shade so a nice break from the sun.

I had a day in fort Lauderdale yesterday and had planned to come here, mainly to see the new butterfly house and I'm glad I did. I arrived at opening and walked around for a couple hours. It started drenching rain so we had to wait to ride the tram for about 40 minutes. I walked around and looked at the wonderland of different trees and animal species. If you love nature this place is a must visit. With towering trees and tropical plants everywhere you look It really does feel like being in Jurassic park. I left for a couple hours to get lunch and when I came back it was sweltering. (Gotta love Florida weather) I highly recommend bringing water, lunch and an umbrella if it calls for rain. One could spend all day walking amongst the grounds here. There is a tram that takes you from the entrance to the butterfly house so if you don't want to walk it's a good way to get around. There are tram stops throughout the park. I recommend visiting even if you have just a short time in town. Also check out flamingo road nursery down the road if you like plants :)

Loved it! Friendly staff and beautiful animals! Loved the environment and the food. I love that they take care of animals that wouldn’t make it in the wild. I would definitely recommend this park to others. Thank you for an amazing time at the park! :)

I used to write for them a few years back and fell in love with everything that they do. I finally was able to come visit last week and it was beautiful! They have such an impressive display of flora and all of their permanent wildlife residents can't be released due to imprinting or injury, they get a second chance here and all look to be very well cared for! They rehab injured animals and if they can be released they do, and babies born in the sanctuary are also released helping to replenish local populations. If I remember correctly, they release hundreds each year. My favorite part was the bird of prey center. And of course, the amazing display of orchids. They've got a cafe and food truck and an adorable gift shop too! They also have a learning center, and a wonderful art display currently in the gallery by the Wrays old house. Definitely worth a visit and just a wonderful organization overall to support.

Needs more maintenance. The animals are not impressive and they look sad. The gardens ride are worth it for the $20 you pay. I would encourage the owners to have more kids oriented / educational programs. A streaming audio explaining the whole place.

We loved it. There is not that much animals (and this is great since it’s a refuge) but we enjoyed the sight of the free birds, especially the flamingos. We loved the « botanical garden » way the refuge is in. We loved the art expo (legos at this time) and the historic house and the how the staff help you understand how it was when it was first created.

I love flamingos so I flew to the Miami area before my trip to Key West with tickets purchased in advance for this place. I paid for a flamingo encounter which was amazing. Every staff member we met loved working there and supported the mission of the park, and that was obvious with how they cared for the animals and treated the patrons well. I highly recommend the tram tour as you get to see a lot of the park with information. It was like a botanical garden crossed with an animal park. I would go here again!

I enjoy outdoor, animals and nature if you have similar interests you wont mind the heat. This exceeded my expectations. Will go back to view the property that is on the premises left from Mr. And Mrs. Wray which left in their will for others to view and animals to rescue.

My partner and i visited and it was a wonderful experience. We did the tram (free) which lasts about 30min, twice. we attended a presentation done by a lovely woman and my partner and i got to touch a python! There were peacocks and birds, roosters and cats wandering. There is so so much to see and to take pictured of, and its the best for nature and animal lovers. We saw the otters being fed, saw toucans, spoke to parrots. I would definitely come here again. The shop has a bunch of little gifts and the staff are super helpful and informative!

A beautiful day was spent here. Employees are friendly, and the animals are well cared for. The free tram with a tour guide was informative on the plant species. We spent about 4-5 hours just enjoying the trees, plants, and animals. The cats roam free and are super friendly. The food was tasty as well. Thank you for the experience!
