The Plantation Historical Society again did a great job mounting and showcasing a comprehensive exhibit of a momentous period in US and world history in a way that a hundred years later we can relate to in a very human and visceral way. This World War I exhibit encompasses all aspects of life, not only in the trenches, but what was happening on the home front. Most if not all the many great items are on loan from locals. This is a must-see for all history buffs. As other visitors have also noted, the volunteer staff are the very best hosts, friendly and knowledgeable.

Very nice train exhibit but theres nothing kids can touch, i went because fortlauderdale on the cheap suggested it for my activities, but it is not a place for children who want to feel, touch, smell and just be kids. People was nice but my toddler got bored after 7 min of seeing and not being able to touch anything but the floor.

I walked by it today and it was a very lovely building. Thanks for snooping on me Google. As an aside, I did walk in there a couple years ago and it was a nice display of the history of Plantation including an old fire truck. When I went, the local model railroad people had a large display set up. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know about the history of the city of Plantation.

Closing at 4:30? Really? Most people get off work at 5:00 and your events are in the morning and end at 1:00 people work at that time. I understand that there are elderly folks that volunteer. But how about the younger folks between the ages of 18 and 65. They like to appreciate the games and events and so forth so when you have an event at 1:00 and everybody is at work and your clothes on Sundays?? Then what? No one can appreciate if it's a community museum open for the public then it should have events in the evening like around 7:00 or 8:00 and end around 8:30 9:00. I'm a local I'm 46 I Live 5 minutes away I do my exercise there practically every other night and I take a look what is the next event. So when I see an event at 1:00 in the afternoon and it's close on sundays. I asked myself how am I supposed to attend if I'm working I would like to participate in these kind of events such as '80s Bingo '70s Bingo '60s Bingo I'm a '70s kid so I think I'll do good in the '80s Bingo '90s Bingo but it would be fun to do 60s Bingo as well and so on those are just examples maybe if you did it at night 7:00 8:00 the same as if you had someone coming with the exhibitions like you did in the past the Christmas events you do every year think about it.

I come here at least once a year and it is always a nice visit! Staff are great, kind people and is always a relaxing visit to come with family and even friends. It may be small but overall a nice, calming, and good place to get away from stress to visit.

Cute little hidden gem in Plantation. Its a lovely museum to visit all year round with exhibits that change often. I saw their archive exhibit and returned to see their Christmas exhibit! Fun and educational, trips can last 20 minutes or an hour depending on your interest in the exhibit
