I had an amazing time! I love all types of art and when I came across this one I had to rally up the girls to go!!! We're from Cleveland and went to Miami for my friend's 40th birthday. While the art was nice and the vibe was there, I wondered alot about not seeing any brown skinned art. On top of, it was an extreme amount of homosexual pics and statues. I'd like to go to an erotic museum to see all flavors and colors not just pink and pale!

Interesting museum. I enjoy the display about the Kinsey institution and it studies they've conducted.

Where do I start…this museum is interesting lmao. They have all sort of “content”. Some of it can be educational and some other can leave you shocked lolol. I recommend coming here if you’re a local or a tourist, it’s an interesting experience and it’s located at Miami beach. The staff is really nice. Good price and exhibit overall.

We came here because there was a coupon for the general admission at the time. You can get a combo ticket to see all of the exhibits for $30. It was engrossing and fascinating to see different kinds of artwork like drawings, sculptures, figurines, etc. We probably spent about a couple hours in here looking at everything. It wasn’t crowded or busy when we went. I don’t want to go into great detail because it’s one of those things that people should see for themselves if they’re interested.

While an interesting concept and some interesting pieces, the museum itself seemed poorly maintained.. We often encountered very warm rooms or hallways that should have led to other exhibits with no door handle that lead to them. The "security" seemed uninterested and on the phone the whole time while I told them about the leak in the roof. Thankfully they addressed the issues to save the exhibits. Interesting but not sure it was worth the money.

This was an amazing visit. We were skeptical about a museum dedicated to the erotic, but it turned out to be very interesting and insightful. The amount if erotic art on display is mind boggling.

Really love this museum and was genuinely surprised at the amount of pieces on view. It’s a really sizable collection. The background info on how the pieces were acquired was also quite interesting. Besides the erotic art, the Wilzig also houses an exhibition dedicated to George Daniell. I was not familiar with his work prior, but also really enjoyed this. I’m not normally one to spend a lot of time reading plaques and background info when visiting a gallery, but found myself actually reading in-depth for both of these exhibitions. The space itself is modest and unassuming - but it stands to reason that there probably is not an insane amount of funding available for this type of space celebrating traditionally taboo topics. Highly recommended.

Very small museum. You will be totally baffled without much advance knowledge; there are no deep historical and cultural narratives that one would expect in a "world museum," although if you have some advanced knowledge you will appreciate several world-class items. The wall of vulvas includes some interesting examples of post-transition-surgery results, but if you don't know the history of gender-transition surgery,, you won't even recognize them. Some miniature items are behind deep platforms, so one cannot examine the details. And, even with some knowledge of art history, for most items on exhibit I could not figure out why they were there. But it is cheap (just $ 15.), and near the beach and good places to eat, and does have some things worth seeing.

This museum has over 2000 years of erotic art. It's an impressive collection, with some items making us laugh while others made us think how uncomfortable that position must be.

Absolutely enjoyed this museum. Lots of erotic art from every culture. There is a theater room that shows a video of the owner telling her story of how it all came to be and it is inspiring. Definitely a must-see for the non-prudish and nonjudgmental. I can't show the pics of the art without possibly getting flagged. But go see for yourself!

This is awesome!! There should be a place like this in Toronto, somewhere around the CN Tower and Rogers Centre, back in Canada. I enjoyed learning about this place and I wish to make this on my Miami bucket list when we drive back here.

Super fun for a honeymoon stop. I thought the price was a little steep but we really got to see a lot and really enjoyed ourselves. Also there was some kind of private party with a woman talking about exploration of all things sex and it was lovely to see and hear the openness.

Hidden away amongst the clubs and restaurants of South Beach is an erotic hidden gem! View X-rated art from across the centuries as you wind your way through this adult collection. One of only a few erotic art museums in the world. Do yourself a favor and check out this well curated experience.

Would give it 5 stars, but we visited on June 16 at 4-6 pm, and the security guard was very rude because it seemed he wanted to close up early and go home. He turned off the lights to half the museum 15 minutes before closing time and yelled at me when I tried to walk through the dark section to use the restroom. He eventually turned on the lights but was huffing and puffing the whole time. Just thought the management should know that the security is creating a hostile environment for visitors. Maybe some customer service training is in order.

Amazing, and way better than I had hoped. The entire museum is upstairs and the gallery is laid out in a way that makes walking through it flow very well. some of the exhibits didn't have information cards on them, and there wasn't a souvenir shop, but I'm far from upset. I will definitely visit again

What a unique museum! The proprietor was very helpful and helped guide me to some unique pieces. There were such beautiful works of art. There's photography, paintings, sculptures, and so much more. There are a lot of tasteful pieces, but also some shocking ones, so be warned! There's a lot of historical sections, which was fun to see, and everyone was super respectful inside. Definitely worth a visit, but not for the faint of heart.

Excellent museum! I've been here several times and it never gets old. Love all the new exhibitions that come every year. Make sure you take a picture with the giant gold peen!

interesting over but seriously left much to be desired. the building looked like it was falling apart. paint and dry wall looked a mess. and it seriously smelled like they hadn't cracked a window in there for over a decade. extremely stale air. intriguing artifacts but the place looked like it hasn't been cared for in quite sometime. rather disappointing

It's a very cool place to spend an hour or two if you are on south beach. I enjoyed all the pieces they had there. The only reason I did not give it a full five stars was because of the building and layout of the museum. It is an old and unkempt building and the rooms are too sparce. I felt like this could have been condensed down into a more manageable and much more easily navigable layout.

Good museum with an interesting and quite unique collection. The man at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. Only negative is that, at $30 for admission, it's definitely overpriced, especially compared to other museums in the area.

A lot bigger than I thought it was! Great way to spend a couple hours and to learn about the history of erotic art! They don’t allow food/drink inside (for good reason) but let you take all the photos you want. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something interesting and different to do in South Beach.

Such a fun visit! We are coming off a cruise and had the day to spend in Miami. Afterwards I was ready to be naked and lying back on the beach. A good stop for the open minded. Really nice art!! Amazing history too. We spend 2-3 hours here.

A museum with plenty of potential, but in desperate need of cleaning and refreshment. Poorly curated, but plenty of amazing pieces ranging from kitschy to world-class. The facilities don't appear to be cleaned regularly. Dust and stains prevent visitors from fully enjoying the art on display. The HVAC appears to be in disrepair, creating a stuffy atmosphere in the summer. I don't think I've ever seen a museum this filthy before, I wasn't expecting it and it caught me off guard. Hopefully, somebody cleans it up and hires a curator who knows how to create a compelling space.

Stopped here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Varied items on display. Some very artistic and others more vulgar so some may be offended. Also history on erotic art and its tribulations of trying to be accepted as an accepted part of the art world.

A first time experience at an Erotic Art Museum that was intriguing at first but quite enlightening at the broad spectrum of works (across Western, Asian, and African regions) that were displayed. It included photos, oil on canvas, watercolor on paper, and prints, but what impressed me the most was the sculptures on display. Overall, definitely worth a visit.

This place was very interesting and not what I was really expecting at all. Not to spoil anything, so please stop reading here if you're going soon, but I was assuming the entire exhibit was like what it is in the beginning of the walk through, and it most certainly is not. It was like cool little pictures on the wall drawn by artists, a large xxx sculpture, and some stories. It gets more x rated as you go in past these. Definitely interesting and worth a visit!

Great place to visit. The museum will not only take you through time and history, but through different cultures, mediums and other forms of expression. One of the most unique places I’ve ever visited. Takes about 45 min to 1 hour to walk through

I read the other reviews and was excited to go but I was extremely disappointed when I went. The guy at the desk tried charging me more than what online had said but thankfully he honored the online price. The first floor did not have anything really and he said the exhibit was on the second floor along with another exhibit. I went to the second floor and the place smelled like a wet basement. There was some cool art (just look at the online photos and that's basically the only exciting stuff to see) and each room had different genres of erotic stuff. Yet more than half of the second floor was dedicated to this other non-erotic exhibit which was all photographs of random objects or people. I was pissed at my experience overall. This should've only been a $10 charge that comes with an apology not a $30 charge. Hopefully the new Sex Museum that is coming in February 2024 makes up for this disappointment.

We stopped in to this museum on a rainy day during our honeymoon and had such a fun time. Interesting and educational collection of artifacts! We spent probably 1-2 hrs here.

VERY disappointed in this place. Upon arrival we were told we must pay cash (this should have been on the website). So we had to leave and go find an ATM as they don't have one. You are NOT allowed to bring in any food or drinks. The AC either was NOT working or it was NOT on? It was so hot in there! The building is old and in dire need of repairs. This could be a nice place is someone invested some time and money into it. What we saw looked more like a flea market set up than a museum. BIG disappointment! Save the $50 and do something else.

The museum was a very fun experience. The diverse collection prompted great conversation and pushed boundaries, which truly makes for a great museum. However, entry was quite expensive for the size of the museum (we spent 2hrs or less, taking our time). The air conditioning was not great and construction disrupted the flow of the exhibit and sometimes left us confused about where to go.

Interesting museum with a relatively large collection of erotic art from a private collector. A different experience aside from going to the beach at Miami

This place has never disappointed me, as far as burritos. I have been coming here since the 80's and it has always been great. They get busy, and my suggestion is if you are ordering for somthing in the neighborhood of five people or more, call the order in. Parking sucks, street only, so bring money for the meters.

I didn't know what to expect, but I was definitely pleased with the art that was displayed and the price to enter. I think it's worth a visit...super interesting!😁

Really cool collection! The front desk employee was super helpful and thorough.. There were three different collections when we visited. They seemed rather random in relation to each other but all were really interesting and we definitely enjoyed the experience. One of my favorite pieces was the phallic sculpture that was in A Clockwork Orange film! The only off putting thing was that there was a private security room upstairs in the midst of the collections. An employee in the room was blasting music extremely loud and also singing along with it super loud and crazy. It was pretty strange and did interfere with the atmosphere of enjoying the collections. The price of admission is $20/person, which I feel is a little steep for the type of collections they had. But I do understand that museums are not huge money makers and I'm sure they are even more challenged with pandemic so we were fine to pay that much. It's also pretty cool that you're allowed to take photos in the museum with the art :)
