If you're over 50, you may think you know Bob Dylan. The truth is, as this art exhibit will prove, you don't know him at all. Yes, his music spanned 6 decades, but he was and is an accomplished artist too. You have no idea how good his paintings truly are. Actually, magnificent. This exhibit at FIU campus will be there until April 17th. On your next rainy Sunday, go there.

Very modern museum. Very educational for young and old. The planetarium is a must to visit. Just don't forget to make your reservation when you arrive. I loved the shark exhibition during my visit with many interesting stories of Pacific culture related to sharks.

Over the weekend, I had a fabulous day at this Frost Art Museum on Earth Day (free family event!) I was greeted warmly and provided a run down of the event. My kids took part in a scavenger hunt where they had to look for artworks and answer simple questions (main incentive was a cute small toy) Definitely a fun type of activity for young children where they are encouraged to pay close attention to artworks in a exciting way! I enjoyed the Haitian live performance and artworks on the displays. Would’ve been nice if there was an MC to briefly talk / introduce to the audience the background about the performance/ artworks. The organisers did a good job with entertainment, activities, giveaways and complimentary snacks! Hopefully there will more of these great events popping up again! Parking was available using ‘pay by phone’ app around $2 for an hour. Plenty of parking and it’s about 5 min walk to the entrance. I’ve become a fan and can’t wait to see more of it!

This science museum is located in the Modesto A. Maidique campus of Florida International University in Miami, Florida. This 46,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art museum has provided the community with free access to world-class art that spans cultures and time periods. The aquarium is awesome! Great place for families including children to learn about science and art. The planetarium is incredible, particularly the black hole show. I’m not an art enthusiast but I do appreciate good art; and try to interpret the artist’s vision when he/she created the artwork. 😊 This is a great place to spend time with family and friends. Great for a date night! 😍

I truly enjoy visiting this Art museum. Interesting and well laid out exhibitions. We often visit on weekends and it never seems too full. Nice outdoor terrace and easy parking.

I’m pleased to say that we enjoyed our visit to the museum. I liked all of the diverse levels. I enjoyed being able to interact with things in the museum because those helped to keep me intrigued. There were several things that I liked about the museum, but my absolute favorite was the shark tank. I enjoyed the close encounters with the birds located in the pond. I would definitely go back another time I’m in town.

The experience of going to a museum is always so calming, everyone is just there looking at art which in turn you get the human expression and there's something very beautiful about that. This museum had 3 "rooms" and I did enjoy looking at everything however it's mostly pictures. There wasn't many sculptures or interactive pieces I guess you could say. The entrance is free. Parking is $1 an hour. It took me about 30 mins to see everything, but if you stop and read it might take longer. I'm not disappointed, I'm glad I came, however I probably won't be coming again. It wasn't crowded at all on a Sunday and employees were very nice.

We went New Years Eve as a trip to watch the fireworks and use the Brightline for the first time. The sad thing is when we arrived we had less than an hour to use the museum and the tickets cost the same price. They could have at least discounted them accordingly. We had about 30 minutes and ran through the shark exhibit before being ushered out. It wasn’t anything special.

What a truly lovely break from the Florida sun. This isn't the biggest museum, but it is a free family activity that is quite an enjoyable walk through. I definitely recommend.

We Checked out the Bob Dylan art exhibition. Not only is he a one of a kind songwriter/ musician, Wow! , this cat is a really good artist / painter / & metal sculptor too. I'm happily blown away once again. Thanks again to everyone who set up this exhibition. So cool to be able see some of what Bob has seen in his travels. After All these years.✌

Small museum but it has so many possibilities. I see grandiose moments for this museum in the future. Donors be aware, you want your pieces on these walls! Westchester is thirsty for your art!!

The Frost Museum is on the FIU South campus. It hosts many class-act activities, art exhibits slot lighting many cultures, presentations, talks and a variety of exhibits of art styles all for free or a nominal fee. I enjoy donating to this museum and therefore supporting the arts in our community. The Frost is World-class, some events include a reception with the coolest servers and the tastiest and most unique foods. I only wish the museum where closer by being more north. I get a hotel room or Airbnb and spend the night whenever I go to avoid the extensive round trip journey from my pad in Aventura. It’s worth it though.

Sophisticated place with large collection of marine animals, as you would expect in Miami, other parts not so interesting. Show at the planetarium was pretty cool, there are a lot of options for shows.....and if you want a cool photo under the oculus, better off paying for it, their set up is better.

Visited on Wednesday to take pictures for an article and I was able to go in with my sister who isn't a student at FIU. Today, on a Sunday, I came back with my sister and her bf because we didn't have enough time to look around the Bob Dylan exhibition before and they didn't allow them to see the Bob Dylan exhibition. I'm not sure what changed but last week the Bob Dylan exhibition was free of charge and this week there is a charge for non-FIU students. I also felt unwelcome when one of the associates accused us of trying to enter the Bob Dylan exhibition without paying. My friend was not happy with her accusation. I didn't catch the associates name but she was an older, short woman with a short haircut in the back of her head with bangs. She also wore glasses. I'm not sure if she was a manager but we did not appreciate the attitude she gave us for simply waiting to use the elevator that was close to the exhibition. Not only that, I was the only one that entered the exhibit and I am a student here so I am able to enter without paying. Had it not been for our interaction with this lady, we would have enjoyed ourselves. Normally I love coming to this museum but she was very rude to us so this time around was not so enjoyable.

I had a terrible experience at the museum this Sunday afternoon. I went with my wife for the first time as we are museum enthusiasts. However, we never made it past the lobby as we were informed that there was a policy in place where my wife could not enter with her purse. Her purse is a medium-sized tan purse that is commonly used by many women. It really shouldn't offend any policy. Especially, when the Frost Museum in biscayne Blvd has no such policy. Furthermore, she was asked to place it in a shelf out in the lobby. She had her identification, money, credit cards and various important items, as most women carry within their purses. A purse is not something that should be left out in the lobby for anyone to take. This policy simply doesn't make sense. Definitely wasn't worth the hassle to find and pay for parking. Thank you for you time,

I took my mom to see the Landscapes of Cuba exhibition because she is from there. She loved it. We didn't have time to see other exhibits, so I plan to return. We also had lunch at the Vicky's Bakery located adjacent to the museum. Nice outdoor area to enjoy the scenery. Parking is at a reasonable cost in the parking garage.

I have been to art walk a few times and frankly it's pretty boring. This time was different. I saw a random sign in front of the santa fe lofts for a vaudeville show. Turned out to be a really cool vintage dance studio (lindyloft) and the show was wicked. The whole experience felt really underground. Hope more things like this pop up during art walk.

We just went to see the Haitian art exhibit, it was beautiful with art dating back several decades and more recent pieces. The museum also just finished a Chitra Ganesh exhibit which we missed but I hope to catch elsewhere. The quality and presentation of the art here is beautiful The lighting is excellent and the museum is very clean and modern. There is a Cuban cafe next door which has seating outside by the trees and water, it is very peaceful yet lively with students.

The parking garage was FULL. They give you 10 mins to find a spot before you're charged $18. There is smaller parking lot next to it, but if you're not lucky it will be full too! Best bet is to have an Uber drop you off or arrive extremely early to park in the garage or find parking somewhere on Biscayne. And eat before your visit or after because the food was overpriced.

An excellent art museum at the university campus! So much wonderful art to see on different floors! The front desk staff is kind. If we had time we would have participated in the art class they offered today but we had plans at another location. Overall, beautiful exhibits to some that make you ponder things in life.

Massive museum/aquarium great for all ages. Can easily spend the entire day covering all the floors. Planetarium was also a highlight. Really young kids eg 2-4 might be a bit scared in the planetarium, a few left with parents during our show (on Black Holes). Cafeteria can get quite crowded at peak/lunch time, but turnover seemed pretty good with the staffing levels.

This museum is beautiful and absolutely stunning. The ticket price comes with one of 4 shows in a dome like theatre. We saw "Journey to the Stars". It was beautiful. But the reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because it left much to be desired. I found it to be a glorified indoor Miami Seaquarium. The aquatic displays was indeed beautiful and families with children can really appreciate it. Lots of tropical fish, baby sharks, stingrays and a small section with a very nice jellyfish tank and octopus. I was just expecting "a little more". Miami Dade residents get a 15% discount on tickets that was generous. But overall a very beautiful facility for what it is.

The museum itself is a terrific building, spacious and elegant. The Art after Stonewall exhibit is really excellent. Would be 5 stars if t weren't for a less than 5 star organization of events (I reserved a ticket for event weeks in advance but then wasn't allowed in because they let people in on first come first served basis and it was full--So why issue tickets?).

Very cool facility and is very very good for children! Unfortunately people in the movie theater that are locals have zero culture, what else could you expect from Miami? They were talking, flashing their phones and placing their legs and dirty shoes on the seats in front of them as if they were home. It was my experience in adults night stay at the museum... As far as I know during the day this is not the case because they have staff enforcing what should not be happening in the first place...

It is not often that art teaches so much American history and politics. The latest exhibit does such a great job. Law and history students will learn so much of what up until now has been ignored and baby boomers will be reminded about how far America has come since Stonewall

Always a fun time here! I used to have a membership here 10 years ago. But have not had a chance to return.. came here with the kids on a Sunday afternoon. We explored almost the entire place except the planetarium. The aquarium is my favorite especially the jellies. The rainforest wasn't very crowded, the butterflies, the parrots, the spiders.... oh my! The earthquake room exhibit was also a favorite. Great place to spend with the kids.

  • 3/5 Martin M. 3 years ago on Google
Good to spend some time, but in comparison to other science museums like in Chicago or New York really underperforming. It praises itself with being a planetarium, aquarium and science center but it really is mediocre in each category.
