This was a hidden Gem! I spent almost two hours soaking up this rich history. I have a different prospective of what it means to be black in blue. Hands Down a must visit!

This is a part of American history. Please make time to see this amazing facility! The museum guides are knowledgeable and relay the historical facts in a way that encourages you to ask questions. They show you how important it is to have a police force within the community that is also part of the community. Please make some to see this

Full of history and definitely makes me a greater appreciation for those who work as officers today and grateful for those who paved the way. You are blessed to learn your history because you are less likely to take your blessings for granted.

A fantastic place to visit to increase your Black History knowledge of Miami, Florida. Our tour guide on Wednesday, December 1st was eager to share the history. I would highly recommend that you do not leave Miami until you visit there and tell everyone you know to go.

Hidden gem - well curated, interesting museum precinct and court where black officers could arrest only blacks. It was a point of pride that Miami had separate police for blacks . Great guide. Learned a lot about Miami’s not so distant segregated past. I appreciate the exhibit did not spin or mute the reality of how blacks were treated. Well worth the visit.

During our first trip to Miami, my son, niece, and I visited the Museum. OMG it was amazing to see my son interact with the director and understand visually how determined our people were and are. The director shared some of the most intriguing stories and gave us insight we did not expect. My son who is now 13 says he's going to be a commissioner and I am so proud to introduce him to greatness. If by any chance you are in Miami I strongly advise you visit. I'd say you'd be empowered but I'm sure the experience will provide you with so much more...going there, you'd recognize your divine providence!

A very interesting discovery of the history of the black police in Miami. We had a retired Miami police guide who shared the history of the place with us. You need to understand English quite well to take the tour.

My grand heartbeats and I took a small tour. It was educational for us. I was so excited to see all the officers that I knew personally. The most exciting part was seeing my mother's name as a pioneer of the Black Precinct. I can't wait to return for a full tour.

Fantastic learning experience. A true peek back in time. It really helped me to piece together the various pieces of history I was hearing on different tours. I now understand Miami and how the past impacts what I'm seeing today. The letters on display by citizens and police administration are profoundly shocking. I will support them financially annually rather we return to Miami or not. Thank you for your service.

This was my second visit to the museum, once with my dad at the opening and returning to pay homage. It is always an eye opener to see what he and his fellow officers endured during the earlier days so we can have the black officers of today. The Museum is an awakening, historical and extremely knowledgeable experience that provides a look back into the of City of Miami Black Police History. Recommend everyone to stop my and read the articles see the displays, read the letters, it will truly be memorable.

Recently visited this museum and I was very intrigued with my experience. The museum provided historical and interesting information/facts that every day citizen doesn’t know about. Truly glad I got to visit this pioneer landmark.

Because it is historical and we need police present in the black communities and neighborhoods with out them we can not depend on white cops to understand and give fairness without them now dont get me wrong there are some good police in general who are good men

Really nice opportunity to contemplate how black people fought for the right of being protected by their own at one point in time when oppressed by the white folks. It's still surprising on the black people suffered and still suffer for the simple right of being seen as equals. This place has ton of history. 5 stars

GREAT historic tour!!!!! It was so interesting to learn about and see pictures and artifacts from when the precinct and court house were founded. I was moved and inspiredby the stories of the many brave and dedicated Black officers who served there and in the Overton community.

This place was outstanding. The captured history was wonderful to view. It was very informative. I believe the preservation of history is very important. You have to know where you were so you can see accomplishments and navigate forward. It is very easy to walk through, observe and take in some important black history. I hope you enjoy it as I did.

Excellent tour today. This was beyond great. We had the most excellent volunteer tour guide. This has encouraged me to do a lot better in life. I want to explore history and continue learning about the past. I will remember this for the rest of my life and encourage others to visit. My family enjoyed this visit.

My tour guide is Willy Jackson, a retired policeman. He is highly knowledgeable and friendly, sharing numerous stories behind the pictures and exhibits. I wouldn't have gained so much insight by exploring on my own.
