The Norton museum has to be one of the best art museums here in South Florida, they greeted us and had complimentary masks up front which are still required but it’s ok. Not that many people where there it was a very calm and quiet museum. The art was super versatile there was more modern art and then more remote art. There was also a couple sculptures and generally a good museum to roam around 🙂

Enjoyed visiting, super modern yet many of the displays are From the old age. The integration of the 2 is great. The museum consists of 3 floors serviced by a huge elevator and a nicely decorated staircase. The also have a restaurant and a boutique shop. I mostly enjoyed the Asian artifacts.

I would give it a five but do-to the day at the end of my review I can only give it a 4 star. The second attempt to go to the museum was great. We love the museum and the Dale display is out of this world. I could just stare at it forever. Would definitely go to this museum again First attempt (I put a day aside to go to the museum with my kids. Did not know that you had to show proof of vaccine even though we are wear masks. Waste of one of our spring break days)

Nicely curated art museum with a refreshed and purposeful emphasis on often-marginalized voices. They have classics along with more contemporary pieces, along with ancient (we’re talking before common era) pottery from China. Really breathtaking stuff! Museum layout is fun to explore with tons of different mediums and eras represented. There are also two outdoor courtyards though only one was open. The open courtyard by the cafe had some outdoor art and what looks like a well-cared-for cat that was hanging out in the shade. Parking is available just across the street, on the southwest side of the crosswalk. It’s a $5 flat rate paid at the kiosk. Crosswalk makes walking to the museum safe and easy.

This is one of the coolest museums I’ve been to in Florida. My friends live in West Palm Beach and had never visited this museum so since I was here for the weekend and we are all suckers for art and a good museum we decided to swing by. The $18 admission was a steal considering how much we enjoyed walking this joint. They have some serious art in there from some of the best artists to have ever walked this earth as well as some fun pieces that are eye catching. May not look big from the outside but there are 3 floors of incredible art. This is a nice fun activity if you’re visiting West Palm and it’s also close to a lot of restaurants.

Great works of art. Beautiful venue to hang out and enjoy the day. Spacious and easy to get around. Perfect size museum if you want to spend 2-3 hours to view the entire collection. Modern collection was tiny. But happy to see some terrific works from leading pop artist. It would be great if they expand the modern collection. They might get more visitors 😉

This is a great place to go to and see the new place where we can park and see loads of exhibits. We joined the museum as a family member $150 for a year membership. We can go to Friday after dark. Plan to come and spend at least 2-3, hours. It’s a tremendous thing for palm beach. Dot not fail to see the khala and diegg Rivera exhibit. It’s a world class exhibit. Donors are welcome to come over free there’s no one night or music and lectures. Called after dark

Great art museum in West Palm Beach. They have a permanent collection with a fine selection of Modern/Contemporary American Art. They also have European and Asian collections. Temporary exhibitions are usually interesting too. If you're in West Palm, do not miss it!

Visited during the Chinese New Year Festival so admission was free and included museum access! It was fun and they had interactive activities good for families like lantern making, etc. The garden area was really nice. I will need to check out the night events and more of the museum next time. Heads up, they do require to show proof of COVID vaccination (even just photo proof) or a 72hr negative COVID test and I believe you are required to pre register on their website.

We have been annual visitors to the Norton for several years, as we spend a week snorkeling off Peanut Island every December. (which is stunning!) Equally stunning are the colorful works of Joseph Stella. We love the Norton, an exquisite collection with a friendly, welcoming, fun staff with activities for all ages. We really enjoyed the fashion photography too, and as a costumer myself, we felt appropriate to wear our regalia and be part of the Art After Dark festivities. A very impressive band was an added plus and the restaurant is to die for. What a gift to your community, to have such a beautiful cultural palace and gardens.

Norton is a beautiful museum. It has 3 floors of art that displays many forms of artistic modern, contemporary and old European pieces. This museum holds special events especially on Friday with extended hours until 10pm. For us, it was a jazz concert dedicated to women in jazz and it was all included in the price of admission. In addition there are special exhibitions displaying a featured artist but for an additional entrance fee. Speaking of fee, there is nominal fee for museum entry that does offer discounts. But well worth it. Each floor has something to offer any art enthusiast. This museum has all kinds of services like classes, tours, a gift shop to a restaurant, kind of high end, limited menu, but good food and decent service. Surprisingly, this restaurant was very popular and our night required reservations, so keep that in mind. There is also an outdoor garden displaying sculptures, somewhat provocative (you'll see what I mean) and a nice garden as well. Overall it is a excellent place to visit for the whole family.

This museum has been beautifully renovated and there are so many wonderful things to see. I would have given it 5 stars, but there was a 200 foot walk to the handicap parking lot for my handicapped mother. The Norton is not handicap friendly for that reason alone, which is a shame. Other than that, it is a great place to visit.

Absolutely stunning, a beautiful museum intent on its mission to share art of all types and mediums in dynamic settings inside and out. My first trip was a private small tour group and our docent was nothing short of amazing. Her riveting stories about the pieces, the displays and the architecture allowed us to learn and admire so much in z short time. We enjoyed lunch on property with a unique film of art brought to life. Toured the gardens on my own. Love, love, love. Bought myself a membership and plan on visiting often.

Visited here with my bf after the renovation. The architecture of the museum is really impressive. We joined a guided tour and the docents were really knowledgeable and engaged us on the tour, asking questions and what we thought of the different pieces of art. The hour tour went by so quickly and was so enjoyable we barely realized time went by. The museum is big and has so much to offer, that you could get lost in the art for hours. There’s even a café!

Awesome museum- love the combination of classical art with modern pieces. The restaurant was great to grab a snack and eat outside by the fountain. So many amazing pieces. I would plan to spend about about 2-3 hours here.

The main art museum of West Palm Beach the Norton has an eclectic selection of modern contemporary art, impressionist and classical pieces. The building is modern in style with all whitewashed walls, spacious rooms and a lot of natural light in the right locations. The displayed art per room is uniform (e.g: a room will only have contemporary art) but you can easily drift from one room to another completely changing styles. This is not a complaint, just an observation. While there are three floors, the main floor holds the largest collection (including Picasso, Monet and Cezanne to name a few), while the second floor has an extensive collection of Chinese artefacts as well as some classic European paintings. There is a decent store (but we didn’t find anything overwhelmingly interesting) and a café (which we did not visit). Regardless of the style of art you like, the collection here is worth a visit. It takes about 1 ½ to 2 hours to tour the museum. Parking is available in a designated lot across the street for a fee of $5. Payment is by credit card only and based on your license plate. Enjoy!

The Norton is always a great place to visit, with interesting art from the collection and interesting traveling exhibits. The museum is beautiful and so are the outdoor grounds. To top it all, the restaurant serves delicious food in a great setting.

Wow— this is a well rounded collection of permanent paintings and sculptures of many different artists, genres and time periods. You could spend 3-4 hours here at minimum, more if you enjoyed a meal at the outdoor cafe. We also enjoyed the sculpture garden, where greenery compliments the sculptures. We also visited the Impressionist exhibit of some fairly rare and unseen paintings. I found the works unusual and colorful, ranging from interesting portraits to abstract but colorful landscapes. The gift shop has a nice selection of jewelry and colorful and unique tchotchkes. The only snag is the parking across the street. The parking lot has plenty of spaces, but the payment kiosk didn’t function properly. When I told the front desk they said not to worry about it. Overall this is a must see museum for art lovers— would make a great date!

The art was very beautiful to take in. A lot of interesting pieces in there. One staff member seemed to be following my family around the whole time on the first floor, just to let us know something that we were doing wrong even if weren't doing but looking at the different pieces. I understand that he was doing his job, but no other staff member had anything to say to us in the 2+ hours that we were in there, except for him. It was borderline harassment. This place would be rated higher if it wasn't for that guy.

We attended during school break. There are a number of opportunities to get in Free and this was one of them. Uniquely to this week was a sketch book with colored pencils and a pouch to put them in for the kids. My kids really enjoyed them. For the kids there is a new VR experience that was fantastic! It made my daughter interact with the art and when she completed the tasks she wanted to use my phone to take pictures of everything... So I have a ton of from the perspective of a 6 year old pictures attached... Enjoy!

Visited this museum and will save the best for last down below. A very pleasant atmosphere marred only by one political installation which I shall ignore. Works by Matisse, Degas, Pollack, Picasso, Rubens and others of their eras. Also fine Asian ceramics are on display. There is a museum parking lot for a $5 fee but we parked on the neighboring street using phone metering and ended up paying around $3 for 2 hrs 40mins, plenty of time. Now for the best part and I wish more museums would do this: Veterans get free admission and one free admission for a companion. Just show proof of Vet status, mine is on my drivers license, otherwise bring you DD214. That'll save you $30

For a small city (even though it's the biggest in the County) this is a huge art museum, something you might find at a much larger city. Their recent expansion put much more art out for viewing and the property has much better flow than I remember. The classrooms and programs are really wonderful and the whimsy begins at the front door and continues throughout. I was amused and delighted to visit the Norton and marveled at how far it has come since I was a young adult learning about art.

Went on Juneteenth after many years and found a much better museum, with a lot of interesting pieces of art, clean, and very organized. We will need to go back to finish seeing it all, also because that day they had some shows (Gospel for instance) and extra exhibitions, so we couldn’t see the whole thing. I really liked the European section, especially the Impressionism paintings and they had some pieces from very famous painters. Like I said, nothing like what it was 20 years ago, when it took us probably 7 minutes to see the whole place. The American section had also very fine paintings, but we didn’t complete it (we read all the explanations by the paintings so we take our time) and will go back for that and the Chinese part. It really is worth visiting also because we don’t have much in terms of fine arts in PBC. By the way, until September the 4th, on Saturday, PBC residents go in for free (regular ticket $18), so it’s a good opportunity to give it a chance, stay out of the heat for a few hours and nearby you have some good eateries without going to Clematis-City Place. There’s a great Asian restaurant, Joy’s Noodles and two BBQ places, tropical Smokehouse (very good) and Pig Beach (still have to go). All are on Dixie Hwy near the museum. On Kanuga street, if you take it from Dixie and go west to the very end you can chill and enjoy some good IPA’s at Civil Society brewery, very laid back, good beer and you can take your dog if you wish. Parking for the museum is across the street, $ 5.

We visited this museum for the first time after about 20 years; maybe it was because we were used to European museums, but we left so disappointed that we never thought of visiting again. The original museum dates back to 1941. In 2019 after several years spent on a remaking project it re-opened with 12,000 sq. ft. of gallery space, expanded classrooms, a larger student exhibition space, a 210-seat auditorium, a store and restaurant, a Great Hall, a lawn for outdoor programs and a sculpture garden. It now displays more than 8,200 works in five different departments (European, American, Chinese, Contemporary and Photography), has ongoing special exhibitions and offers events and workshop at decent prices. The museum has a private parking lot for $5 (for non-members). The entrance costs $18, but it’s free every Saturday for WPB residents, and every Saturday during the summer for all PBC residents. We took advantage of the free summer admission to PBC residents to return to the museum to see what had changed since the last time we visited: well… it is now amazing! In addition, we went the day of the Juneteenth celebration: parking was free, there were so many artists selling their works, we attended the performance of The Florida Fellowship Super Choir and participated to other music events in the program! There are a lot of pieces displayed, even from famous artists, and the staff seems always eager to explain it and interact with you. Of course, the museum offers free (and private) tours, but also a new app (Norton Art+) that will give you more information. We will certainly keep taking advantage of the summer free entrance, but we enjoyed our visit so much that we are thinking of getting a membership!

The best museum experience I've had in Florida so far. From the exhibits to the restaurant everything was excellent(it is expensive though). Huge variety of artwork and an enormous space. All the exhibitions were impressive. We started at 12pm and finished at closing (5pm). All the staff were super nice.

My toddler and I had a fantastic time. Amazing rare art by some of the most famous artists and amazing local artists, including families from the family art workshop! We got to join the program while we were there and had a blast. I haven't made art since many years and it sparked so much joy in me especially to share that moment with my child. When they shared with the group the art we made, he was beaming and it was awesome to have that moment. The volunteers, security and staff where so nice and the teacher leading the art class was so encouraging and everyone was so welcoming.

Awesome to have this incredible museum so close. Every exhibit I have visited has been meticulously curated. The permanent collection hosts incredible art pieces that are worth the visit ( Hockney, Giacometti, Renoir, Sorolla, Flavin, to name a few) no doubt the best museum in South Florida, by far. I was finally able to enjoy Museum after dark last night and it was awesome! Every Friday, the museum remains open until 10 p.m, and most of the times they present live bands or have special activities for only $10 per ticket. The garden is beautiful and so peaceful with a restaurant that is truly inviting. A great plan any day of the week specially for those whose appreciate art as much as I do. Also, Palm Beach offers great dining options, so you will be able to close your night with a smile on your face 😊.

How magnificent is the art collection here! For a minute I thought I was in the Louvre! Beautiful & prestigious pieces including works by Monet, Matisse, Cezanne, Soutine, Picasso, Degas, & so many more from all throughout Art History. We went to Art After Dark & had a great gallery tour & talk led by Jim, who was highly knowledgable in the field of the Arts as well as regarding the paintings & sculpture housed in Norton. Fantastic live music & make your own art work! Every Friday, at Art After Dark! We have a prize in West Palm.
