Local Landmark! As a FL local this place is the epicenter, where it all happened, and played a major roll in how Florida came to be. I recommend you take the free audio and take your time. Great for all ages, families, as well as seasoned history buffs, culture chasers, and museum heads. Don't forget to visit the rail car! Rail car 91 is an amazing add on to an already great tour. Go through the gift shop come out and make a left when you enter the pavilion if your lost the gift shop manager is very kind and can help you find your way. To elevate the experience come at sunset watch the light seep into the rooms during golden hour and embrace one of the best views in town.

Always a great time!! Had not been in 10 years and love that they have acquired old pieces to the museum. Please don’t “rush” through the museum. It’s full of history and wonderful treasures. My only complaint is that I was there at 9:50 waiting for opening. The lady setup the Exit booth instead of the entrance booth. Staff shortage due to ‘Covid’

This place is top notch! Do your research about the Flagler's before you come to fully appreciate their legacy in the Gilded Age. There is a small history room in the mansion, but that area was packed! Otherwise, we loved the home. It was $18, including a headset. It's grandeur is out of this world!!!

A really stunning museum. The details in this house are truly overwhelming. There is also an audio tour to go with it. The mansion is on the water and the view from his house is beautiful. In the glass building/ conservatory there also one of his train cars. Definitely check this place out. A level of opulence that one very rarely sees.

Very interesting museum to visit. Really well-maintained. There’s a free parking lot up front. There are maps, audio guides, tour guides, and informational signs throughout the home. There’s an antique rail car available to visit. They also offer afternoon tea by reservation at select times of year. The tea was great! Beautiful presentation and flavors. Not massive portions but great for a casual meal. Museum admission was included in the afternoon tea price.

Very beautiful mansion which worth a stop. The parking is free but the entrance fee is $26 per adult which includes an audio book which has a lot of good information about the house. We especially liked the entryway and the ballroom. Theres also great views from the back of the house and an event space with some amazing windows with pretty neat train car you can go in.

This historic building sits on a large, beautiful piece of land on Palm Beach. You can tour most of the first and second floor. It has many nice pieces of art. There are multiple bedrooms on display that take you back. There is so much detail in each room, and many antiques. The architecture is really nice. It has a great view of the intracoastal waterway and downtown west palm beach.

A beautiful museum filled with a story to tell. It is kept mostly the same as Mr.Flagler left it when he died. Beautiful art and instalation can be seen all around the house. The house is a 2-story house and looks more like a mansion on the water. On our tour, we got an amazing guide that explained all the stories so well that I was in total owe how much I learned from such an amazing day. I would definitely recommend coming to this place and exercising the beauty of the mansion in person. Below, I am sending some pictures from our tour. My favorite one is the godfather clock with Father Time.

Don’t waste your vacation dollars here!! The employees are very unfriendly and this is highly overrated. I Have a service dog and the man at the front entrance stated “no dogs allowed “ We explained the circumstance with my disability and this highly uneducated and rude individual actually told me they only allow service dogs if you’re in a wheelchair!!!! Moments later the manager tried to argue that the museum is ADA compliant and nothing could be further from the truth. They are cruel, arrogant and hateful people. After a frustrating ordeal and no apology from the manager I got a refund and left. The manager had no conflict resolution skills and did not attempt to resolve the issue whatsoever. They really are not interested in sharing the legacy of Mr. Flagler and his family but rather a wedding venue—-however I certainly wouldn’t waste my money as there are so many more beautiful places in southern Florida for a memorable wedding. You and your guests don’t need to be treated like second-class citizens. Ironically we were the only visitors at the museum and it was no surprise after finding out how rude employees are at the Flagler museum. Don’t waste the $18 per person to deal with these hateful people—maybe they’ll have a disability someday and understand what it’s like to be treated like this . It was absolutely horrible And cruel

Beautifully preserved example of turn of the century, over the top opulence. Extensive use of marbles for the structure and wood carvings and inlays for the furniture . The Pavilion is a great surprise as well as the finely appointed rail car inside. Our docent was knowledgeable and interactive. The building, its contents, and the docent portrayed the lifestyle of Whitehall when it was the home of newlyweds Henry and Lilly.

So happy we made a stop here while we were in town! This house and the grounds are gorgeous. We did the self guided audio tour using the provided audio tour wands and they were exactly what we were hoping for. Each room offers unlimited things to look at in amazement and also learn plenty of historical key moments that helped shaped early America and South Florida. The ticket prices are priced exactly what they should be. I’ve seen some other reviews calling the ticket prices steep. I couldn’t disagree more with this statement. Expect to spend at least two hours.

Henry Flagler was a visionary, and seeing his home is one of the great state of Florida's gems. You'll love the windows every room offers into the past. If you want an excellent photo opportunity with the whole family, check out the back and tip at the gift shop.

A magnificent mansion from the early 1900’s is almost impossible to fathom how it was built when there was absolutely nothing in Florida. The opulence expressed in the architectural style and contents of the mansion reminds one of any European castle. Although a bit pricey, $26 per adult, it’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in West Palm Beach.

I really enjoyed my visit today, but there are a few things visitors need to know: 1) they are currently working on several galleries upstairs (Dec 12, 2023) and have blocked part of the area normally open to visitors. Because of this, you have to use the elevator to access the back rooms and bicycle exhibit, and use the stairs to access the front bedrooms and exhibits. The height of the first floor ceiling means climbing 1 1/2 flights of stairs. If you have health or mobility restrictions I would suggest checking with the museum to see when the entire floor can be accessed by the elevator. 2) While the cafe does offer “picnic boxes” to eat on the grounds, they do not offer anything that is gluten free and visitors are not allowed to bring in their own food and drink. 3) The lighting in many of the rooms is very dim, especially on the ground floor, and can be a challenge for anyone with impaired vision to enjoy what’s being displayed. Overall, the mansion is amazing. A true American Palace, with lavish and ornate detailing on every floor, wall, and ceiling. Then there’s the furniture and artwork which is all that an apparently endless supply of money can buy. I visited in December while the mansion was decorated for the holidays, but the splashes of red and green were subdued by the extravagance of the home itself. I’m very glad I made the trip, and would highly recommend this historic treasure to anyone else.

The Henry Flagler museum is a fun location to visit while in West Palm Beach. They have the house well air conditioned and it is very nice to cooly enjoy history. The entrance is around $18 but sometimes they will have specials that let you come back for free or they have free days every now and then. They also host events at the hall and you can contact the business section for more information. Their gift shop has some nice Florida history pieces and books. The rooms and history has been well preserved and is a good 45 minute to 75 minute self toured location.

Worth a visit, inside and outside. During lunch time, there is an option for a so-called "afternoon tea" as it is unfortunately served, without the indispensable clotted cream, but which on the other hand, comes with a bad sound system composed of a single speaker, screaming distorted opera music in the background. That being said, beautiful room and views. MISSING: benches outside fences, while we are waiting for our ride. Absolutely no place to seat whatsoever. Unacceptable.

This magnificent home of Henry Flagger is a must of you want to appreciate massive wealth of one of founders of Palm Beach's "rich" past, as well as individuals! While a great house, it pales in comparison to my favorite great houses in Newport, RI. Still, go see it;) * The bedroom photo is that of Flager's servants; a different/important perspective.

Visited this past weekend and loved it! I enjoy history and learning about the areas I visit, so it was very interesting to learn more about Mr. Flagler and the impact he made in Florida. The museum is gorgeous! Did you know it was Henry Flagler's gift to his 3rd wife? She just wanted a little cottage by the sea as her wedding present and Mr. Flagler sure delivered! The views, decor, details, artifacts, art and sculptures throught the museum are not only mindblowing but full of history. Parking is free and there is an entrance fee. You can cover the house and grounds in about 2 hours. It is next to the ocean and you can even see Mr. Flagler's first train! Definitely worth it, enjoyable and a history lesson!

A fascinating view into the home of a true visionary. The exhibition room that features Henry Flagler’s history and facts about his family and business is not to be missed. Every article reveals something extraordinary. For instance, there is more than $1 billion of Flagler's fortune invested in endowments or trusts that support more than $50 million in educational, charitable, and cultural programs nationwide each year. Henry Flagler is quoted as saying, "The hardest problem a man has is how to help people. The desire to help others comes when a man has more than enough for his own needs, I have come to the conclusion that the best way to help others is to help them help themselves."

Really cool museum. Unreal the amount of money necessary for that lifestyle. A look into the past and a testament to the quality of the work done. The quality of the trim and woodwork just isn't done today. Beautiful!

This was our first visit. At first we were skeptical due to the high admission fee - $26 is a lot to visit a mansion (it’s much more than we pay in Europe for similar experiences). But the house is absolutely stunning. We attended the complimentary guided tour and our guide Ed did an amazing job. He presented the interesting facts very well, seemed to be very knowledgeable and had an answer to every question. He also was quite entertaining and easily to understand - if you are a non-native like myself, you know what I’m talking about. The bonus exhibition about the Wild West was also super interesting and I learned a lot today.

The house is very beautiful with an interesting history. However, the history shown about Flagler is very sugar-coated, so don't expect to see any information about the laborers that he employed to build his railroad, hotels, or home. I feel that admission is too expensive and they offer no discounts for seniors, students, etc. The tour only lasts about an hour.

Great spot to visit. Its kinda huge so make sure you have some time to see everything. The audio guide is pretty basic but the guided tours can be extremely detailed. (As in all the back stories, it was a bit too much for us, to be honest).

This Museum is Beautiful from inside and outside as you can see. There’s A lot of history about Florida where was the first hotel, street from St. Augustine to Key west. If you really like Museums and history come check this out, it’s fun. The only thing is kinda pricey compare to other museums. I will come back for sure!

Really class operation detailing the house and history of the times, and the man largely responsible for developing Florida. The museum is really well laid out and easy to navigate. You can read all of the posted information at each exhibit and listen to the recordings at each stop all in like 2-3 hours. The device with the recordings is included in the admission price.

In depth look at one of Florida's main developers and crazy amount of wealth that he stayed in as a summer home for 6 weeks out of every year. Gorgeous with an in depth audio tour into the lifestyle of Henry Flagler. Also with a classic gilded era teatime with appropriate time period foods along with a look at his personal train car 91.

Architecture inside and outside, friendly staff, setup, gardens and its views is to step into an Era and take a peak into history of affluence. The locomotive carriage gives us a peak into bygone days of luxury, elegance and comfort. The gift store also is neat to visit with unique quality gift ideas. Thanking the director for the hospitality towards myself and my friend so we could see the locomotive which we had missed on an earlier visit due to a musical show, held on their premises. Honorable act from the staff.

Incredible! What an amazing place. The staff was very friendly & kind. You aren’t allowed to bring in a backpack however they tell you this before you ever purchase a ticket. I was able to check my backpack for free & security looked after it. (Which is kind of nice that I didn’t have to carry it around.) Each room has so much detail and a lot of information you could honestly spend hours here. I personally believe that pictures don’t do it justice, it’s much more breathtaking when you visit in person. All in all a wonderful place, I spent about 2.5 hours there & would highly recommend.

A beautiful museum inside and out. The self guided audio tour (which is included in admission) really enhances the experience and allows visitors to double click into aspects of gilded age and South Florida history based on your interests - I loved hearing more about social customs of the time. Some might enjoy the detail on specific antiques and art in each room. The grounds are also lovely, and I noticed they do a high tea - will definitely be back for that!

What a breathtaking place to visit. This is the very first museum I have ever visited and I was very happy that I got this opportunity. My first time coming to this museum was with my chorus at John I. Leonard Highschool. We performed at this museum during Christmas time as part of one of our performing/singing gigs. We sang “Hot Chocolate” Polar Express and we did outstanding. I always used to say this Musem resembled the White House. 😂 Truly beautiful.

So understand COVID downside but audio tour no longer provided. A bad Flagler Museum app (which, unless you carry earbuds around has another set of issues) that does not work more than it does or a boilerplate brochure is offered instead. If hearing impaired, no services. Tour is pretty much just walking around. Update your website and tell people what to expect before rather than after they have paid.

Flagler built this home for his wife Lily as a wedding present. The house is magnificent, the craftsmanship amazing! All rooms are exceptional. One of Flagler's train carts is in display. There is a small gift shop. Worth the visit!!!!

Great museum! I always love seeing the decadence of the Gilded Age. Whitehall is such a beautiful house and the staff are very friendly.

This is a superb museum, a must for everyone who wishes to learn about the history of Florida, the guilded age, Henry Flagler and the spirit that built up the USA. A bit of Newport Rhode Island in Florida.

Admission is a bit pricey, but overall a great experience! The house and all its history is amazing, definitely worth checking out, especially if you are interested in Florida history or the Gilded Age.

Very interesting tour of the winter home of one of the most influential industrialists in American history. The guided tour was fantastic and gave a great deal of context about the history of the architecture as well as Flagler's impact on the development of the entire east coast of Florida.

Flagler was a very important man for Florida..Thank goodness for Granddaughter Jean William's to keep it from being Demolished. It will be here for years to come.. Yesterday was special.. It was the anniversary of his death " A celebration of Life" May 20 1913@10:00am

The self-guided audio tour was fascinating if maybe suspiciously uncritical of Henry Flagler. I think it’s safe to think of Henry Flagler as a “founding father” for Floridians so you can expect his portrayal to be somewhat idolized but as long as you are comfortable putting that in perspective there is a lot to learn here about Florida and Palm Beach’s history, the gilded age and the American myth in general. I highly recommend checking this place out, they also offer guided tours and given the enthusiasm of the people working at the museum I imagine those must be excellent too.

A must visit you feel like you are in Europe. Absolutely stunning. Make sure you do the FREE tour so worth the explanation. I will be back for when they decorate for the holidays.

What a great place and marvellous experience. We took the curated tour and the female guide was very interesting and absolutely made the visit interesting and educational with her knowledge and insights. She managed to virtually transport us back to the wonderful period when The Flagler were in residence. We loved the Flagler tramcar and the bicycle exhibition was brilliant too. Highly recommended

Beautiful place with lots of interesting Florida history! Highly recommend taking the decent-led tour. Make sure you take time to sit in the coconut grove and relax - so quiet and peaceful. Wonderful place to visit!

This place is beautiful I highly recommend visiting it. This was my first time in Boca Raton I am so glad I took the time to tour this home. The grounds are beautiful the home is immaculately well kept. The solo audio tour or docent lead tours are both worth doing. Step back in time by visiting this place.

Great experience! Whether you're interested in this historical period or simply appreciate beautiful interiors, I highly recommend this museum. Follow each exhibit with the audio guide from your phone – very convenient. I suggest downloading the app and bringing headphones along. Thanks also to the staff, who are kind and helpful.
