What a wonderful compilation of the history of the West Palm Beach area. A must for anyone visiting and would like to learn about how it all started. The Docent is very knowledgeable if you have any questions. I would highly recommend this museum.

Stopped by with my ten month old and our stroller. Fabulous exhibits and great way to spend 30 minutes out of the sunshine. There is an accessible entrance with elevator on east side of building. The staff were super informative and friendly. Thank you!

Love the historical displays and photographs and love that it is in the restored 1916 Courthouse. The building is beautiful neo-classical architecture with Roman columns. Wonderful way to learn the history of Palm Beach County!!

Very nice museum. Small, but very informative and a lot to learn about South Florida. The guide men, who I forgot to ask for his name 🙈 dressed as the mail man was amazing and very patient with children! Highly recommend this place. 🥰🥰

Cute visit for an hour or so. It's in the old courtroom building that has been saved from demolition. Very helpful ladies had lots of history on the place. We got to visit the old courtroom and a bunch of school kids were acting out a trial which was fun. The displays are static but lots of super interesting history lessons !

Very nice people running the place. A lot of beautiful things to see, just don't buy books that are $80 from the gift shop!

I went today to see this historical place and the man who works there was so nice and gave me the whole history of the place and its importance. The nice man is Gene. He was great 👍👍👍

My homeschool group was led by a docent through the exhibits. I highly recommend this option. There is a lot of information and I believe it would be really dry to go through it all on your own. Our docent was full of humor and shared tons of extra knowledge based on his personal experiences around the county. The only negative is the Holocaust exhibit was very underwhelming.

Always wonderful exhibits on Palm Beach County history. The programs they have are very interesting. Join the Young Friends of the Historical Society if you are 49 and under for parties that give you the opportunity to meet Floridians with the same interests.

Visit on a Saturday. Free & tour guide Diane will provide the most comprehensive & interesting history of WPB with much about Mizner, Singer, Flagler & others. So much to see and comprehend. Don’t pass this 1902 original area courthouse which houses the museum without going in. Such a treat!!!! Took the $5 RT Miami metro rail for the 1st so all around the day was spectacular. Short & safe 20 minute walk from the WPB metro rail station.

Charming gem of a place. Snippets of history to relish in beautiful surroundings. Check their events calendar for surprise things to do. Let's all be grateful to those who saved places like this from the wrecking ball and developer encroachment and raised the funds to restore for the rest of us to relive history.

Great place to visit. It's a wonderful learning experience for those interested in this original PBC Courthouse building and its history. There is emphasis on the history of PBC and its development through temporary and permanent exhibits. You can all visit an original courtroom. Our tour guide, Sandy, was very informative and enlightened us as to local history. The building has AC, and the museum tour is free. We parked on the nearby street at a meter. Our visit took 1.5 hours. So glad it was made into a History Museum. Thank you to the PBC Historical Society.

As a local resident who deeply values the preservation and dissemination of our region's history, I cannot praise the Palm Beach County Historical Society enough for their commendable efforts. The Society is an invaluable resource for anyone seeking to explore and understand the captivating history of Palm Beach County. The Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum offers a captivating journey through time, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the stories, events, and people that have shaped our community. The old courtroom is a true gem, the preserved architecture and attention to detail are truly impressive. The staff and volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, always ready to share their expertise and answer any questions. Overall I highly recommend a stop into this museum to history enthusiasts and the general public alike.

Certainly not a whole day worth of exhibits but if you have a morning to spare, there are some interesting pieces of historical significance.

I really love history and seeing local history is awesome. So when one of my BoyScouts asked if we could go, I was all over it. They loved it, learning how the town started and grew and seeing the difference between the 1916 court house and the state of art one across the street.

This is the way to get the history of Palm Beach county in an entertaining presentation. You can tour on your own or have a docent take you through. There is just enough text with each visual display to give you the story without excess length.
