For a free museum I have to say that I am pretty impressed. The major exhibition is the art of The highwaymen. I spent about 40 minutes here just on the first floor the second level is mostly administrative offices classrooms in the collection of photographic art. I wouldn't say that this museum is worth driving out of your way to visit, but if you're visiting the Lakeland / Central Florida area and are looking for a little excursion this is totally worth your time.

I went to their haunted house. They all did a great job 👏. And a lot of guests came dressed up! Hopefully next year they will have it on several days. Decor was really spooky 👻

I highly recommend this museum!! I love that it is free and that right now you can see the Highwaymen exhibit. All of the art that they have within the museum is beautiful and the museum itself is big and open and lovely. There is also a cute little gift shop where you can get little art and Florida’s nic-naks

Very nice museum run by Florida Southern College, Closed on Mondays, free entrance but donation preferred. They get some really awesome exhibits. They offer kids camps in the summer. And have different events through our the year. Calm ,quiet place, not for kids under 10. They also have a room where chosen arts from schools are displayed. And a small gift shop

What jewel of an art museum and its free!! The Toulouse-Latrec Exhibit is an amazing and large collection of original lithographs from Athens Museum. The museum is medium size with photography exhibits on the second floor. Because of Covid you must book in advance. Good Covid precautions, with temperature checks and limitation on visitors. We highly recommend this museum.

Loved this museum! The Edward Hopper and Guy du Bois exhibit was sensational. And, it's free admission, but I did donate because I liked it so much. Don't miss the 2nd floor exhibit. The food and home photos are eye opening.

I love this museum. Not large but world-class exhibits. Free admission, but you still need to make a reservation and wear a mask. Excellent tours and a cool reasonably priced gift shop too! Exhibits change so check their website!

Very engaging information on the feature artist. Local schools get their very own exhibits in the student area. Be sure and to go to the second floor to see the continuing exhibitions Material World: a global family portrait and Hungry Planet: What the world eats. Visit Black and Brew for something to eat and drink before you leave the area. Black and Brew is just across the parking lot in the local library.

Lovely small museum. Excellent publicly laudable general interest displays done with superb professionalism. Great depth in traditional materials within resource constraints of institution. Highly recommended for anyone except the most picayune of specialists or niche advocates.

I came to the museum for the Rodin exhibit and it was amazing. The second floor was closed so not much else to see. I did see an Andy Warhol and an Ansel Adams...which were incredible. I will keep up with what is on display and will go back for sure.

This is a great art museum. They have new art collections on rotation and stable collections. The art from the local kids is always inspiring. The curators always have informative and insightful information on the pieces. Can visit again and again. And most importantly the staff is so nice!

Went to see the Rodin exhibition. Fantastic and many pieces to view! The children's art was fantastic. The artist S.Martin had several paintings on display as well make sure you go to the second level to check those out!

This is a wonderful museum. Admission is free and the exhibits rotate regularly. It's well laid out in an open plan and there's an outdoor area to enjoy. Be sure to check the gift shop a they often have things related to the exhibits. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

This is where you go to get cultured! Very clean, and Rachel the security guard is so sweet. Go in for a few hours and see the Rodin exhibit, it's a once in a lifetime bucket list item you never knew you had! I LOVE this place and you will too.

Special event: The exhibition tonight was fabulous. A wonderful mixture of fantasy and realism in oil painting works of which some were quite large scale.

Really nice little museum and right by library with cafe. Went to see Highwaymen exhibit and also found out a they have a large collection of African masks and figurines. There's also Lake Morton nearby that is known for having tons of birds.

Came for the Rodin exhibition which was excellent. Good location, nice building, friendly staff. The art outside the special exhibits is nothing too special and a bit skimpy though so it just keeps out of 5 star range.

We thoroughly enjoyed the entire museum experience. Our main interest in visiting was the Highwaymen Exhibit, which was wonderful as well as everything else that we saw. "What the world Eats" was especially interesting. Also loved the children's license plate art!

This was my first visit to the Polk museum and thoroughly enjoyed the Norman Rockwell and NC Wyeth exhibition. Unfortunately, I also saw that there was an exhibition of work by county students. there are so many professional artist who have worked a lifetime to have an exhibition space with this kind of exposure, and to give it to students eliminates your credibility has a serious museum. Students should be exposed to something to aspire to and not just pandered to.
