Creepy and funny experience. I totally recommend this place. The Best: 👻Robert The Doll history. 🏰 The building Even if you don't know anything about Civil War you can have a great time here. You can learn a lot about that time walking through the different representations of sites of that moment of the history. Most of this place is accessible for people in ♿

I did have a Pic of Robert, and yes, I did ask him if I could take a picture of him and Otto his dog. But it just didn't feel right, so I deleted those 2 pics. The museum was really cool. It's a must-see if visiting Key West.

This place is educational and has so much history. I lessened so much a bout Key West here. It's a self guided tour but I am sure if you wanted they may have guided tours. Robert the Doll is here. You must ask permission to take his photo. They tell you before the tour, is in the pamphlet and it's on the walls. The history of Robert is posted behind him. There are other dolls that have their own house outside. Overall this fort is fascinating and a must see.

Tremendous collection of Key West historical items, including the ghostly doll ROBERT. Staged in an old fort, the displays need to be protected better. Great view of the Atlantic from the turret tower 👌

This is probably the most disappointing museum I have visited in Florida. The museum concept here works more than anything to show the junkyard work of local folk artist welder Stanley Papi. They need to add more historical content & artifacts. General admission is $15.50. For those interested in the allegedly haunted doll with supernatural abilities, they have to pay $45.00 dollars in a tour called 'Ghost Hunt & Robert The Doll Experience".

Had a chance to visit as part of a haunted key west ghost tour. It was well worth it to visit this museum. Historically impressive this locations has its share of stories. I found this a highlight of my trip to key west.

Go see Robert the Doll here. Ask Robert before you take his picture. This is the 8th stop on the Trolley bus. It’s well worth the $47 day pass for the hop on hop off Trolley. Admission for museum is separate. It was around $17 adult and if you buy ticket online from Fort East Martello Museum it’s $3 around cheaper. We found this museum very interesting. Life on the Keys, cigar manufacturing, battle and nautical items as well as Stanley Papio, junkyard artist. We went in July. I would suggest touring in cooler months because if you’re used to air conditioning, the outside tower and gardens can be pretty hot. Well organized, lots of exhibits, beautiful gardens, and great gift store. It shouldn’t take more than an hour to go see all exhibits.

Interesting place but I expected more history, especially of the civil war & Key West's roll in it. A lot of displays didn't have any explanations at all near them. They give you a sheet when you enter with an overview of each casement/room. But that sheet is pretty general. Robert the doll is here & there was a lot of Robert the doll stuff to buy in the gift shop. They also had an interesting collection of "junk yard art" from Stanley Papio.

Had a fun time doing the ghost tour and seeing Robert the Doll. It's definitely worth doing VIP so you can explore after the tour and go to the top of the middle building. Once you have done the tour, once you're good. Have fun!

Had a great visit! Not many visitors and we had the martello tower all to ourselves! Lots of history and local lore!

Cool fort, the tour started off good with detailed and descriptive signage, but as you walk through the different areas the lighting is poor and signs were just taped up pieces of paper. I expected more history on Cuba and the influence it has on Key West. The doll houses were cool but there was not lighting so you have to use the phone flashlight. Robort the doll is the main draw and doesn't really have any history with the fort, it's just a spooky draw. If you're not into that, don't pay any mind, they put a lot of emphasis on his area to freak you out.

Spooky Cool place. Lots of old artifacts. Robert the Doll main draw. Ask him before taking pics. In the middle is an old two story building you can explore and go to the top and look at nice ocean views. AC and gift shop.

This is not kept up like any museum I've ever seen. It seems to me that they have night fright type tours or raves and it is mostly kept in that manner: sparse, disheveled, spooky, e.t.c. Which is too bad. Some of the pieces could be nicer with repair and maintenance. We did see a few iguanas in the inner courtyard! The courtyard restroom does not properly lock, so maybe post a guard. Robert the doll thing was all they had going for them. I think the view from the top was nice, but not worth the admission...

Home to "Robert the Doll," this place just feels haunted! Fort East Martello Museum is a trolley stop, which makes the fort accessible. Interesting historical artifacts and artwork throughout, and a viewing platform to take in the sweeping views of the ocean. Buy tickets online in advance for savings. Ghost tours are common at night, if you are brave.

This place is cool. It's a nice way to spend a couple hours. Learn some history about key west. Get acquainted with spirits and their legends and lots of artifacts from the past. It can be spooky for some. The doll has been known to trigger things inside of people they have never felt before. I was a bit of a skeptic but there was an energy there that effected myself and especially my wife. Interesting stuff. I was a fan

Spooky place at night with a very cool history. Robert The Doll resides here, make sure to take the tour to learn more. If you're up to it, you can take a private ghost tour all by yourself throughout the fort!

Being a history nerd, I loved coming to this museum!! Especially, how they have a wide variety of artifacts that reflect the history of Key West. Nonetheless, the star of the show is Robert, the Doll. And yes, I did ask for permission to take a picture and you should do it as well!!! I will be coming back soon, this is a MUST when you are visiting Key West.

Great to go see the history of Key West. Got to see Robert the doll the main attraction. 1 hour later fell and hurt my knee pretty bad. Flight was canceled heading home...stuck in PA...Airline put us up in a Wyndham hotel, the grossest one they could find. Spent bus money to get home faster.....ending up getting on an AM Flight instead of a late pm one...money wasted. So Robert the doll WHY.......will not post photos of the doll.

We came here at night to do a ghost tour and really enjoyed the historical aspects of the fort. The gift shop was good too.

Very cool old fort, the museum had some really neat pieces of history. I liked that there wasn't guidance, you go through the place at your leisure. There's no A/C and felt muggy, so dress cool. Do NOT forego climbing the tower, it's worth traversing the spiral staircase to get that view from the top! Perfect activity for those waiting at airport, it's a 3-5 minutes walk (right next door, no street/highway to cross) and can be as short as fifteen minutes or as long as an hour. We spent about 45 minutes there while waiting for a departing flight so didn't get to see everything they had, but that's just reason to return!

A lot of great historical info. Very quick if you don't have a lot of time. Robert the Doll is there to visit if you like the creepy side of Key West. Don't forget to ask before taking his picture. Not a joke.

It's a self walking tour. Old place. Some interesting topics. Very skinny stairs that go up to the 3rd floor roof. Only takes up to 30-45 min to read and walk through.
