This is a MUST visit if you are in Daytona Beach. This museum is the best museum I have ever been to! It is huge and has an amazing kids section and theater. Everything was super clean and convenient. They have a section for all age periods & many things I have never seen before nor could believe things that old could still exist. The curator has chosen an amazing collection and is doing a fantastic job preserving all of these priceless artifacts. It appears they are always bringing in new artifacts on top of the already extremely elaborate collection. We had so much fun at this museum! We spent over 5 hours and could have stayed even longer. They have cool kid camps that looked great and were very affordable. Plus it is free entry for all every Tuesday! That's right, free entry for the entire family every Tuesday at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona beach! Thank you everyone at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach for an unforgettable experience! What an amazing facility!!!

Highlight of our Daytona trip! We visited the museum Tuesday 8/10/216. Wheelchair accessible👍. Price is amazing for what is included. No guest pays more than 13.00 for admission. SO MUCH TO SEE!!!!!!! Something for everyone! Too much to describe, children's part of museum is very exciting and interactive! It was myself, my 18 year old son and my 25 year old daughter and we all were impressed and engaged! The admission included a visit to the planetarium.... This was indescribable! Do it! Get there! All indoors, so great activity on a rainy day, or if you need a break from the sun.

What an amazing time we had here! My boyfriend loved the old guns and swords, the prehistory of Florida, and the trains. I loved the art from around the world and the special art exhibits. Plus the old coke stuff was really cool. The included planetarium show was mesmerizing and we learned some cool facts we keep telling our friends and family about it!

We enjoyed the Museum of Arts and Sciences. There were great exhibits for the price. I would have done 5 stars but the planetarium was out of service when we went and I was looking forward to that. They did notify us on the website in advance but it would have capped off the visit perfectly. Learning more about The James Webb telescope was certainly a highlight of the visit for me. I would like to go back when the planetarium is up and running again.

This is an odd museum. It a bit of everything, but mainly to document the life of the Root family... The staff was amazing! If you're member of a family museum locally you get free entry and a planetarium pass. The planetarium was great! The kids section was nice but rundown. Basically, if it's raining, check it out!

It's small but they have lots of different exhibits that there was plenty to see. Planetarium has different shows for different times and we weren't aware the 3 pm show is better. Very affordable with a military discount.

This is a great place to spend 2-3 hours seeing some art from various schools and countries but also scientific and technical artifacts. There is a planetarium there as but their presentation is not long. Each room has many interesting exhibits you will enjoy.

This place was really cool. There was so much to see. The kids loved the children's section. There was a lot of hands on things for them to do. The Planetarium was pretty cool too. It got dark so the kids were a little scared but they have seats that lean back to look upward. I would definitely come back. ☺️

A really cute place to explore with kids. We were greeted by a friendly woman at the front desk who was very helpful in explaining all the different options to see and told us that the planetarium would be playing a video in about 15 minutes. The video was so informative and my four year old daughter loved it. The children's museum area is fun and there's so many things to play with. It was a great experience and definitely a great value for the price--under 5 is free.

Unbeknownst to many, the Museum of Arts & Sciences is a hidden gem of Daytona Beach. In a city most say lacks culture, this museum is a refreshing showcase of diverse galleries and engaging showcases. In addition, the planetarium show included in the price of the ticket makes it so much worth it. Highly recommended for families looking to do something different in Daytona Beach. Children's museum makes it a worthwhile trip for the kids too!

I went to attend the Historycon being held that day. If you are 65 or older there is a senior discount. The Coca-Cola and train car exhibits are fascinating. I only covered part of the museum so I upgraded my admission to membership before I left so I can return at my leisure and take my time touring as well as visit the planetarium show.

Such a nice museum! We were surprised at the amount of exhibits, it takes about 3 hours if you read every detail or 1.5 if you read half and rush the rest. My favorite exhibition was the Giant 🦥 Sloth, had no idea those had even existed let alone in Daytona. Check this museum out, if you love going to museums. Won’t disappoint!

Such a great museum with so many exhibits. There is a cool.guitar exhibit along with a Coca cola and Root family exibit. Large gathering of old antique furniture and paintings, a planetarium, and even a huge sloth. There is even an auditorium for holding special events and an old train car. Very cool for kids of all ages and plenty for the adults as well.

Fantastic Museum. Must see if you're in the area and enjoy a good museum. Lots of cool exhibits on space, the arts, natural sciences and history. My favorite exhibits were the JWST exhibit, the train exhibit, the armory and the music exhibit they have outside.

This is a gem of a museum. Lots of varied galleries. My favorite is the visible storage where you can view many eclectic items. I also loved the giant ground sloth exhibit. There is a fun children's museum. Unfortunately the planetarium was out of order for my visit. There is also the outdoor nature trail through the preserve.

This particular visit was primarily to the Root museum often called the Coke museum. With an amazing collection of just about every bottle I think Coke ever used and a vast number of coke machines and memorabilia Plus s markup of the old pharmacy soda fountain. The museum has numerous other rooms and a planetarium dedicated to different kinds of art and sciences as well as a children's area with things for them to do. Definitely a must-see stop on your trip and if you're local what are you waiting for 😁

The museum is certainly worth the trip. Period art and objects, glass, etchings, lithography, Coco Cola historical exhibit of Root Bottling Company to the development of the Coco Cola company, automobiles, period rail cars, etc Of course there is the Planetarium to view the night sky. Its worthy of a two day trip, and VETERANS, its free thru Labor Day. We loved our time at the Museum of Arts and Sciences today.

Great place to visit in daytona. Actually had a lot more than i thought they would. It doesnt look that big from the outside, but its a huge place. Great exhibits inside with all sorts of different culture. I love the old coca cola section. Some awesome trains, cars, antique weaponry and lots of paintings. Would highly recommend doing the planetarium show as well.

Great musical garden out front! Planetarium was awesome, great variety of shows for kids and a lower volume sensory attentive for tots that may not be tolerant of loud movies wad perfect for our grand kids (4&5). The children's museum had enough to keep rhe littles busy for at least an hour and other sections were good also but we'r only explored a couple of areas as we were with toddlers. Overall lovely place and would definitely visit next time we're in Daytona. In fact we plan to visit the 2nd Saturday laser rock show in the near future now that we know about it!!!

This museum has something for everyone-art, natural history, furniture, Coca-Cola and train memorabilia, a children's interactive museum, and a planetarium. For people interested in prehistoric displays, they have a skeleton of a giant ground sloth (see photo). There was plenty to keep us interested for several hours. We have senior rates and had a special two-museum price that we paid for; however, there was so much to see in this museum that we never made it to the second.

We missed the new WW2 exhibit by just two days, which we're bummed about. We would have loved to of seen that, but I guess it just means we'll have to come back. This is a fun museum. There really is a lot to see for everyone of all ages. My husband and I even found ourselves playing like kids in the children's exhibits. The giant sloth was my personal favorite (because duh). But the locomotive, automotive and coke displays were also incredible. Coming from Pennsylvania, it was really fun to see the Cuban art exhibit and learning that our very own, and very loved, Milton Hershey got his sugar cane from Cuba, developed a sugar mill, and schools for orphaned children in the process. It was really fun to learn new things about our state's favorite legend all the way here in Florida. It's definitely worth checking out.

So much fun!! We came for the new telescope exhibit and it was interesting. This museum covers an array of history and even has sections for children. My favorite was the insect and bone displays while my grandfather enjoyed everything automotive/locomotive!! This spot is a true gem to spend 1-2 hours exploring!

I visited with a 5 year old and couldn't be more pleased. She especially loved the Children's Museum section with numerous hands on activities, even during Covid. There were hand washing stations and hand sanitizers in plenty to keep people safe. She also enjoyed the Planetarium show and the gallery of prehistoric Florida. Many hours of fun and education.

Great trip for family or adults. Only 10-15 mins from DBS. A little something for everyone. A good 2-3 hour activity. Planetarium included with general admission with various shows throughout the day. There is also a separate Art museum (additional admission). Good morning outing on one of the days you are here!

This was probably one of the coolest places I’ve visited in Daytona. The staff was very welcoming. We got to see a show in the planetarium which was interesting. Some of the artifacts and pieces here are incredible. Was expecting mostly art but was blown away when inside. It’s a huge complex and takes a few hours if you want to see everything. The wildlife trail is a really cool addition!

I have visited this Museum several times which says a lot! I really enjoy this place, the employees are friendly and there is so much to see! Definitely check it out if you are ever visiting Daytona Beach. You can buy your tickets the entrance and they aren't too expensive either. Also a super cool gift shop and outdoor natural area to explore and see unique plants.

Took my grandson who is 5. He loved all the dinosaurs and the hands on exhibits. We missed planetarium because he was so absorbed by the hands on things to do. We will plan for it next time! Great experience!! Everyone very helpful!

This place is 10/10. I would compare it in variety and quality to the Victoria & Albert in London, but it is actually even better. Top notch kids museum, incredible art and antique collections. The staff member that greeted us was wonderful. Prices are good and parking is easy There was something for everyone in our group. The ground are beautiful as well. This was my favorite stop in Daytona.

Great place! They should talk about their Coca Cola exhibit maybe. Lots of interesting exhibits, including some personally-owned passenger train cars that are just amazing. Art from all over the world.

We went on a day of a car show. So many people and so much traffic. It was a wow experience. The museum is pretty cool as well. They have a planetarium but we didn't go to it.

Went to the laser light show of Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon. Absolutely amazing show. The prices were fantastic $5 bucks a ticket. Must purchase online. Great seating everywhere. Didnt see any handicapped parking but the parking lot is in close distance to the planetarium. Great night out highly recommended

My husband and I went specifically to see the John Webb telescope exhibit. It was awesome! Space Buffs don't miss out on this one. Also, we recently attended the Vincent van Gogh movie, Loving Vincent, that was playing at the planetarium. Superb presentation.

This museum has something for everyone, and the whole family (3 generations) as a whole. I enjoyed the art very much, and my parents loved reminiscing of all things from the past. Something to see, learn and explore around every corner. I would like to make a special note about the ladies who worked at the front desk, I had a personal request and they came through.

  • 5/5 Tokin D. 8 months ago on Google
Amazing time! Veterans get in free and can bring 4 others.. The weapons room is incredible. The apothecary is a fun look back in time.. Old cars, Old Trains, and an amazing collection of Coke products! Africa, Cuba and prehistoric Florida.. all super detailed and really interesting. The planetarium is down until Late this August, but they have a whole wing dedicated to learning about Space, so the Planetarium would of just been icing. This is definitely worth a couple hours of your vacation.

We were pleasantly surprised at the diversity of displays at this museum. We found both the World War II, and the Coca-Cola bottling plant exhibits interesting, but the star of the show was the enormous Pleistocene era giant sloth.

The staff didn't seem very personable, and kind of cold. And the planetarium show was a lot of rambling, but not many interesting facts. I'd be willing to give it another shot, the kids area was fun. And it looked clean. Maybe it was an off day.

Its huge! Excellent staff, they were very accommodating, kind, generous and their knowledge is impeccable! Highly recommend the Planetarium. Only complaint is that the doorways of some of the exhibits have a "bump" and it was rather difficult to maneuver my mom's wheelchair over them. Not impossible, and she was able to stand briefly so we could move the chair, but for someone that does not have that ability, it would be very challenging. Still. No regrets and we look forward to visiting again!

I've lived in this area my whole life and have visited here many times over the years. There are so many more things that have been added that are awesome to see. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. Well worth it. And a planetarium show on top of it. Who wouldn't love that? Enjoy!!

This is a small museum but had some really nice artifacts. Really liked the guitar exhibit. Paid an additional fee for planetarium - it was a typical viewing..nothing spectacular. The reason for three stars is the person at the desk where you purchase tickets was super uptight!! We walk in and are looking at the prices and she kept saying you need to come over here and pay. Like 4 times she said it. We almost started to leave. There is a nature walk around the back of the museum which was pleasant didn't see any wildlife though
