Small hole in the wall place with best Peruvian food ever. Service was ok but at the end they said, they can't take Amex card ... it was only card we had since we just walked over from the beach. They eventually took it.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! A Florida must. The food is so fresh and well put together. The pickled onions, BUSSIN. I wish they sold it in jars. The chicken flavors were spot on. I love how crunchy yet tender the calamari was. The ceviche was sooo fresh, flavorful and unique. I would love to return to try other items.

Loved the food. The ceviche and the Peruvian entrée we ordered were delicious. We will definitely be back but for a brunch . We want to sit outside and enjoy the beach view. This time we came for a dinner and it was raining , so had to sit inside, just a good reason on top of the food to come back !

A gem in front of the fortlauderlade beach, delicious food with authentic Peruvian and Asian flavors, restaurant owned by Peruvian Chef Dany Kou, service is fast and friendly. They will open a new restaurant on Boca Ratón soon.

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale Thursday afternoon and this was the first place we ate. We ate at a different place for lunch and dinner until Monday when we decided to come back here because nothing else came close to how deliciously amazing the food here is. This restaurant is a MUST for anyone stayimg/living, remotely close to Fort Lauderdale Beach!!!

Literally the best Peruvian restaurant ever! The waitress was kind and so nice! The food taste so good, the other people sitting around me where very friendly too! The inside of the restaurant is small but it’s fine! The tables outside where pretty and clean! I love the decoration outside! The place overall is a 10/10 and deserves more recognition!

Never tried Peruvian food and didn’t know much about it. Found this place and my wife and I love it so much. Every dish has it own spotlight and they are all very tasty. Overall it is way beyond my expectation!

I totally falled in love this restaurant. The quality and taste is truly remarkable plus the kind and friendly customer service makes the experience more enjoyable. I spent a little bit more that I used to when eating by myself but was very worth it. I give these place 11/10 ♡

Whew MERCY! This food was so yummy I wanted to cry. For a tourist area where many restaurants are subpar, over priced and overrated at best, Kousine shows up and shows out. The sangria was bomb, the ceviche was flavorful, impeccably seasoned with fresh seafood. The service was efficient, orchestrated, kind and the food was nothing short of AMAZING. I'm beyond appreciative for the care they put into every aspect of the experience. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

The food was amazing. However, the waitress we had was not the most attentive. Took forever to take our order bring us our drinks and food and check. We wish we had gotten the other waiter because he was on top of it consistently with his two tables. We were one of her two tables as well.

Totally in love with the flavors of this restaurant. I had a reservation elsewhere for my birthday and decided to cancel it as soon as I tried the food here. The attention is absolutely good. Peruvian food is my favorite and this place simply met all my expectations.

5 star views of the beach. Excellent variety of taste ceviches, Peruvian dishes and seafood, and reasonable prices. No restaurant parking, limited metered street parking nearby. Definitely a unique restaurant with some unique dishes I had never tried before, would recommend!

One of my favorites in town and possibly the most underrated restaurant on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Nestled on A1A just south of Sunrise, Kousine is the move for when you’re in the mood for fresh, mouthwatering ceviches, colorful tiraditos and savory anticuchos. Chef Danny Kou welcomes you with heart-warming hospitality and food that makes you do a happy dance as soon as you eat it.

I think this place deserves more than 5 stars. The amazing food. Ceviche! Had the combination, the assortment of skewers, and Lomo, can't remember the name. Kinda like a shish ka Bob. This was my Christmas dinner.

I recently placed a pick-up order from Kousine, and I must say it was a positive experience. They were punctual, ensuring my food was ready on time, and it arrived hot. The flavors were excellent, and overall, it was a satisfying meal. I appreciate the attention to detail in their service.

Absolutely delicious and authentic Peruvian cuisine. The Yuca fries are to die for and the seafood was extremely fresh! One of our favorite meals the entire week! Staff was friendly and professional. The decor inside the restaurant was very charming and made for a great dining atmosphere. For sure a strong recommend!

Really good 👍 👌 👏 😌 ☺️ 😊 value for your 💰 🤑 💸 💲 🪙 💶 money. It's small inside but it makes up for the quality of food. Mauricio our server was very good. The restaurant has a decent wine list, good appetizers and 🥗 🍅 🥗 salads. The Seafood is above average in quality and taste 😋 👌 😜. The establishment is right across the Fort Lauderdale Beach ⛱️ 😋 👌 🙌 😀 👍 nice view. I will definitely be going there again.

Everything we had here was delicious. We ordered the ceviche clasico with added calamari, fried yucca, arroz con mariscos, quinoa chaufa with seafood, and red sangria, among other items. Definitely a hidden gem slightly away from some of the tourist traps elsewhere in Fort Lauderdale. Would definitely recommend!

This is the best home cooked food I’ve had in a long time (except for my wife Jennifers’ cooking). If you’re visiting the area stop in but make sure you’re hungry! Kids, if you’re reading this in the future, you’re dad loves you. 😋. Wish you were down here with me.

I liked the food, wasn't bad, but the mussels on my arroz con mariscos, were all closed, so basically had no mussels. I mean.. you're adding 4 mussels to a dish, make sure your customers get open mussels that are made to eat. Then, the portions for the money, is way too little. They can be a little more generous. It's very expensive if you're converting money. Then the bill situation was senseless. The menu says they charge 20% gratuity automatically to 6 people or more; we were 2; there was a 20% gratuity added in the bill. I called that out, and she said that at the end I can change the total and do what I like. How does that make any sense? You give me a bill, total, taxes and tip added and the subtotal to pay is shown..but now I can make that bill less? Why not make me choose what I was gonna do all along anyways? She then returned 4$ to me, which I never asked her to do, but at that point, I pocketed the money.

Stopped for a late breakfast. Nice presentation and delicious food. We sat on the patio with a view of the ocean. My wife had the French toast and I had a pork belly sandwich. My sandwich was good but more than I could eat so leftovers.

We had a truly magical dining experience at Kousine and I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a unique foodie restaurant. We were not sure what to expect from a hole in the wall restaurant located in a shopping strip between a pub and a liquor store. The table setting is very basic, although dining on the terrace overlooking the ocean is always a treat in and of itself. But the surprise of the evening was the food. OMG heavenly Peruvian dishes executed in the most perfect way. Flavors out of this world, delicious herbs and spices, all dishes blew our mind! Our favorite was probably the Pulpo & Calamares saltados, served with anticuchera sauce, botija aioli, chimichurri sauce, yellow and purple potatoes, and mixed greens. Of course we had to sample a ceviche, and the Ceviche Kousine, with tuna, yellow pepper and passion fruit, nori, avocado and cucumber, did not disappoint. The empanadas (shrimp and beef) were both perfect, well seasoned and not greasy at all. For dessert we tried the quinoa pudding Manjar Quinoa and the Suspiro Limeno, both worth trying, especially the quinoa. The wine selection is limited but some good options are available (we chose a Cabernet). Our waitress was adorable, limited English skills but we managed to understand each other perfectly. She was working non stop all over the place yet very efficient. Peruvian cuisine deserves to get more recognition. It can be very healthy and when you find a gem like this, you wish you could eat there more often. Next time we are in Fort Lauderdale, we already know where we'll be heading for dinner! Don't miss this treasure! It's a must try!

We discovered Kousine on our vacation last year by driving by and my husband seeing the small tucked away restaurant. We fell in love with the Ceviche and ate there the 4 nights we were in town. This time we were vacationing in the Keys and purposefully included some days in Fort Lauderdale to eat here every night again. The ceviche is spectacular and tonight we finished with the passion fruit cheesecake that was also devine. Sad our trip is half over and we only have 2 more nights to eat here. I am so glad you all survived Covid and have even expanded to Boca Ratón. Already looking forward to the next time we are in Fort Lauderdale.

Early dinner overlooking the beach. Antonio was our charming waiter. Tasty ceviche was fresh and authentic, we had the sampler of 3 ceviches (perfect for 2 to share). Had a great Peruvian craft beer, very fizzy though. Main dishes were tasty and filling. A1A is pretty noisy but bearable.

Beautiful presentation and food was fine. They have an interesting fusion of Peruvian and Asian food. Ocean view is a great addition. Prices are in the high side. I wish they asked how to cook your lomo saltado, since not everyone likes it rare.

This place is a nice gem. The food is good quality and the flavors pop with all the extra grease and oil restaurants typically use 🥰 The waiter is super sweet and friendly-definitely worth it for a nice breakfast spot with a good view of the beach ♥️

Good food and service. It’s no VERY traditional taste but it’s pretty close. A little pricey than other Peruvian restaurants around the city. The location is great, right across from the beach and parking spaces are easy to find, the restaurant is not spacious but it’s ver good atmosphere.

Decided to try this place as it was near where we were staying. None of us had tried Peruvian food and all I can say is YUM! So fresh and the flavors were amazing! Highly recommend this hidden gem!

  • 4/5 Yuk 1 year ago on Google
The restaurant is a little bit hidden. It is right next to the pub. We waited 15-20 minutes for our table. Once we got our table, we ordered right away. It took 20-30 minutes to get our food. The tamal was rich in flavor. The beef empanada tasted better than the shrimp empanada. Out of the ceviche trio, the table’s favorite was the ceviche clasico. The arroz con mariscos lacked flavor, the seafood was over cooked, and the rice was too mushy. The lomo saltado was good. The sauce was amazing! The service was slow. There were only 2 servers during dinner rush time.

Everything was very delicious a bit salty for my liking. The salad super tasty but like I said if you prefer less salt, let them know ahead of time. Excellent service and you can see the water from our seat. Street paid parking and make sure you pay because they will ticket.

Amazing food! Ate out every meal for 8 days and this was the best meal we had. Fast service and super nice. Wonton soup was amazing, ceviche great, octopus and anticuchos were both amazing! Wish we found it sooner

  • 1/5 Ali K. 3 years ago on Google
The food is good. However, the service is not. The wait times are ridiculous. We waited 90 minutes for the first part of our food order. They gave the table next to us our appetizers, and served us the appetizers after the main meal. The main meal came in two parts, 30 minutes apart!! The place seems understaffed. It has major management issues, especially time managemen problems.

Food was 😑 The vegetarian causa was not good. The portions are small. The papa a la huancaina was way too little for the price. 🤷‍♀️

The octopus starter is excellent. The wonton soup with a dash of sesame oil is worth the drive. The paella is a must. My girlfriend always let's me eat the shrimp head. The best part I know.

  • 1/5 Zeina E. 3 years ago on Google
Worst experience ever. We had to wait literally 2 hours to get our food (the appetizers came with the food). The restaurant is very small and during this time of Covid it wasn’t very pleasant to stay there for 3 hours. No one there was even apologetic to make us wait all this time, like it’s normal.

Small but mighty, this Peruvian classic spot has a flair for the authentic, excellent service and incredible flavors. Serving portions are ultimately generous, with an appetizer and main course being enough to feed my wife, daughter and I. Delicious food and great vibes with an ocean view, what more could you ask for?

Location is great if you are in the fort lauderdale area. It is literally right across from the beach. Restaurant is very small, so it has limited capacity. We ordered the Wantan Soup which was great as far as taste. We would've love to order more on the menu, but the wait for just a soup was too much. Ps. If you are looking for beef heart anticuchos, they do not serve them. Only beef, chicken and shrimp.

My hubby and I went here for thanksgiving dinner. It was very relaxing by the water, and they had good sangria and arroz con mariachis. My hubs also had a seafood dish, where the crawfish wasn’t cooked.... but overall, still delicious!

  • 5/5 Karoly S. 3 years ago on Google
Simply put, one of the best meals we've had, ever. A quiet and unassuming location within walking distance of the nicer hotel district belies the Peruvian magnificence that awaits. Everything was terrific, from service to food to the ethnic craft beers! We ate ceviche and the Asian Peruvian fusion offerings.

Recently ordered Arroz con Mariscos (2/5) and a Lucuma dessert (5/5) Arroz con Mariscos - Regular shrimps and the jumbo shrimp in the meal were not cleaned, we can literally feel the dirt when you take a bite, I was very disappointed with that and couldn’t real enjoy the flavors of the dish. Other than the above mentioned, dish would have scored 5/5 Lucuma- was subtle flavored and delicious, not too sweet, not too bland it was and felt perfect.
