This restaurant is on my regular rotation of local restaurants. I'm quite surprised I haven't ever left a review considering I have probably been here at least a dozen times. Noel was our server today; he was also our server on our previous trip and he very professional and attentive. I was quite happy to have him as our server today. The chips were fresh and the salsa was perfect as usual. I was able to try 3 different margaritas while I was there and I will say that they were all awesome. The entrees arrived in a timely manner and everything was amazing. I love there Beef chunks, I would highly recommend it. I'll post some of the photos and I look forward to a future visit in a few months. I think happy hour is Monday and Tuesday for anyone looking for half off the house margaritas, but call them to double check... I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much a do...

The staff were very friendly. The decor is very dated and almost jarring when you walk in. There is a distinct lack of seasoning to a few of the dishes, especially the guacamole. The salsa tasted freshly made.

The fat kid in me ordered the steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas and was not disappointed. Most the time I'm not a big fan of the veggies in fajitas. But the oinions and red bell peppers were grilled to perfection and bathed in flavor whose only draw back is that you've got to wait for the sizzle of the skillet to cool before cramming them all in your mouth. Also, the strawberry margarita was elite!

Absolutely terrible. Since we paid for it we have to eat it. The food is blend, tasteless. I don’t know how it gets 4 stars. If you have to try it out get margaritas and not the food. The burritos are disgusting

Great service. Ordered mole enchiladas, chicken and skirt steak fajitas. Food was delicious. The waiter brings you a free order of chips and salsa.

Upon entering La Bamba Mexican Restaurant in Plantation, I was instantly transported back to the early 90s. The atmosphere, while nostalgic, felt a bit congested and overly colorful. A more open space with toned-down hues could enhance the dining experience. The restaurant was bustling with customers on a Tuesday night, which initially raised my concerns about the quality of the food. However, these worries were quickly dispelled. The meal was a pleasant surprise - it may not have been the best Mexican cuisine I've ever tasted, but it was undeniably fresh and flavorful. A highlight of our visit was the service. Our server was exceptionally helpful and attentive, a remarkable feat considering the crowded setting. She frequently checked in on us, ensuring our dining experience was smooth. In summary, La Bamba provides a good dining experience with its fresh, flavorful food and excellent service. While the ambiance could use some updating, the overall experience merits a thumbs up. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more of their dishes.

Ah! Never been to this location! Always exciting seeing if each location tastes the same! Of course I got the house margarita on the rocks no salt! Good/Strong! Yum! Started with the super nachos which comes with 8 pieces. Refried beans Cheese Sour Cream Guacamole Lettuce and Jalapenos. I love them! For dinner the two with me got the pollo ala plancha which was good as always! I got the chicken fajitas cooked extra well, and they actually listened to my request! So good! Food is good! Drinks are good! Only complaint I have is I told the front it was my boyfriends birthday if they could do the singing with fried ice cream. They said they would tell the waiter. I am guessing it never got communicated because we got the bill once everything was packed up. So, we didn't get the singing or ice cream. It was already late, so we decided to just pay and leave.... so sad :( Was looking forward to the fried ice cream which is sooo yummy! Either way I love La Bamba!

I honestly can't believe I'm just now getting around to writing a review of this place. La Bamba has been our family's go-to numero uno favorite restaurant for 15+ years. Their menu boasts a huge assortment of both Mexican and Spanish dishes. Portions are plentiful and reasonably priced. Our absolute favorites are the Chicken Fajitas and their Pollo ala Plancha. The servers are all so friendly and accommodating to whatever our requests are, even if we want to split a dish. Now that our kids are older and out of the house, whenever they come home to visit, La Bamba is always tops on their list. You can visit any of their six family-owned locations in: Delray, Margate, S. Ft. Lauderdale, N. Ft. Lauderdale, N. Palm Beach and Plantation. The largest seats 234 people. One brother works in the kitchen and one sibling in the dining room of each of their locations. Check them out- you can 100% count on great food, in a fun family atmosphere.

I’ve been to La Bamba in Fort Lauderdale but went to this location in Sunrise. This is my go to place for my taco, enchilada or steak fix that I need. I would also strongly recommend the house margarita. It hits just right!

You have to try the melted cheese with chips. We had chicken enchiladas which was OK. Overall food was very good.

We enjoyed our meals but the sad part was that our waitress was never around and waited forever when we needed something.

Absolutely awful food and terrible customer service. We usually order out and have great food here, but they must have changed their chef. The chicken was burnt, dried out, and tasteless -- it was as if they forgot to even marinate the meat. Do yourself a favor and order elsewhere -- when I returned asking for a refund for the terrible food along with showing pictures of what we got, I was met with a bumbling answer from who I assume was the supervisor. He spoke down to me by talking to me as if I didn't understand what grilled chicken was, and then seemed to think he "one-up'd" me by asking if I brought the food along with me. When I told him I didn't bring it, he said he "couldn't give me a refund without the food, you know", despite me having the receipt. Safe to say myself and my family will not be returning to this restaurant. There's a difference between grilling, and then outright charring and drying out your chicken into a tasteless mess.

The food is absolutely delicious! Healthy, tropical and Latino culture; left and right. I've ordered a chimichanga with chunk beefs and tried the house Margaritas. The flavor was amazing: soft creamy, fresh, and healthy. I highly recommend eating here. The environment is social; a lot of people but the vibe is positive, friendly and relaxing.

Came on a weekend late afternoon for a late lunch There’s a new area and a second entrance with a ‘lobby’ area connected. The room has a nice large screen where sports were showing and that is a big plus. There were more people than I would think would be eating a late lunch. Service in that second area was good but didn’t seem like it was as good as the main area as we had to wait for drinks, chips, refills more so than we would’ve liked. Food was great as always!!

Service was lacking. Xavier who was our server seemed quiet and maybe needed more training. When we first sat, our server started walking to our table and immediately turned back around. One way I test service is with timing the refill of a water/ soda and my water took 11 minutes and 32 seconds to be refilled. It felt like because we were a group of four teenagers, we weren’t worth his time (even though we spent $80 on Margaritas). While I didn’t drink as I was the designated driver, my company complained about the shrinkflation of the glasses for the margaritas. In an attempt of solving the shrinkflation issue, the second round of Margaritas were ordered without ice. We then received margaritas with even smaller glasses confirming our suspicions. The renovated side of the restaurant shows a glaring juxtaposition between dated decor and a fresh remodel. I look forward to the response from the restaurant asking me to email them. I don’t want to email you about my experience, just do better. If needed, raise prices to bring quality back to La Bamba’s.

Impressed!!! They renovated this space about a year ago and it's beautiful... Wide open seating. The waitresses and waiters work together to always be available....they do a great job caring for the guests. Food was amazing, hot/fresh and served fairly quick. Will definitely be back, maybe even a weekly regular. Their salsa and chips are so fresh. Refried beans recipe is amazing....must have!!!

This place was delicious! Second time coming here and I do not have anything bad to say about this place. My party and I were seated right away and we got the chips and salsa. I recommend the spicy salsa as the regular salsa was too watery. For my entry, I decided to get a steak quesadilla. Food was hot and tasted great! I had a great time.

First time at La Bamba and it exceeded my expectations. Great food, decent pricing, nice family atmosphere. The food was on point! Our server, Sergio was very attentive and even recommended a few plates. Great experience overall. My new favorite Spanish/Mexican place.

I have had the Fajitas at La Bamba many times, I have had the steak, chicken and the combo steak/chicken all of which are good portions. Today I decided to order the shrimp fajitas and was I disappointed.... You get that sizzling fajita dish with 6 small to medium sized shrimp! Plenty of onions and peppers but 6 small/medium shrimp is not cutting it for $22! I could see 10 shrimp but this portion size of 6 was very skimpy. Do not recommend if you are eating here. As for the service and atmosphere, both are very good. The waiter asked the Manager if there was anything they could do with respect to the skimpy 6 shrimp and he/she wouldn't do anything. I appreciate the waiter asking and he also was very good, received a nice tip. Just be warned, if you want shrimp fajitas, don't be surprised if you only get a few... Dinner w/soda's for 2, $61 with tip...

Family favorite place to eat! Nothing special but give good portions of food. My parents love the chicken fajitas with extra sauté onions, and I love the steak burro! We do not like having to pay $5 for a second bowl of chips and salsa, which used to be complementary, but they are fresh and hot when they come out. Some servers are good and attentive. Some you can't find, and that is with anywhere nowadays!

Trying to get the waitresses attention led me to actually yell to her twice. My friends meal was brought out with my fajita sides. 2 other tables received entire meals while I waited and waited and waited till I yelled for her attention to get the rest of my supreme fajitas,,,chicken, beef & shrimp, 2 shrimp to be exact. I am not a fan

We have been coming there for over 30 years. Always loved the food. Although the portions have been smaller. I used to not finished the meal. I now can. Always got the steak ala Mexicana ,but smaller now. I settle for the beef chunks chimacha ( still small) but delicious. Love the staff and service. We are going this evening as a matter of fact. We go also for all our special occasions. We hope portions of increase. ( Ha )

I ordered the chicken enchiladas. Those were good; however, the refried beans were from a can. I was extremely disappointed with the taste. And the tostones were drenched in grease. Especially for the price, I won't be ordering takeout here again. 😢

Great dining experience! My husband and I went to La Bamba for drinks and appetizers and had a wonderful time! Our server Oswaldo was friendly , attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He made us feel welcomed and like we were friends! Although they were busy, it was 8pm on a Saturday night, our drinks and food came out quickly and hot! We will definitely be back!

I hardly ever leave reviews of restaurants. The food was not good at all. Barely ate it . The cheese dip taste like they just poured some Tostitos cheese dip into a bowl except worse. Tacos tasted like Taco Bell except worse and came sitting in a pool of grease on the plate. Margaritas were ok. Left most the food on the table didn't want to take it to go. Seems like a place that Is just imitating authentic Mexican food and not even doing a good job at it. Again food was really bad . Won't be back . Server was nice.

I came here on recommendation of a co-worker. When I pulled up in the parking lot and smelling jalapeños I inhaled deeply and thought, "This is going to be great!" I noticed some things on the menu were different from other Mexican restaurants I was familiar with, but I proceeded with a good attitude. I ordered the chicken taco salad. One of my favorite staples. Well........ a little disappointing. Never have I ordered a taco salad of any kind and it did NOT contain beans, sour cream, or guacamole. I got a fried shell, lettuce, chicken, cheese, and tomatoes. Thank goodness the margaritas were on special tonight! The service was good, the drinks were good, the prices were good, but the food was just .......sub-par. I probably will not make the effort to come back here unless coming with a group of friends for drinks.

The food is good, they serve a lot, it gets busy some times, the waiters are good, but sometimes it looks like they want to remove the dishes so quick that they interrupt your dinner time.
