This is a fantastic state park. There is a $6.00 entrance fee and so much to do. They have kayak and paddle board rentals, mountain bike trails, cabins, fishing pier, picnic areas and a beautiful little beach area. I have kayaked here many times and it is always a great time. I usually go during the week to avoid the crowds. Today was beautiful, calm water a little wind but not much current. I paddled for about 2 hours and then sat on the beach for a while before the afternoon storms started. Always a fun time!

We went there for the Mother’s Day weekend. I don’t know if it’s the same during the weekdays, but we paid $6 to enter the park. Rented a canoe, and the process was nice and smooth. Staff seemed friendly. The price for 2hours min was $55. They explain the routes you can do also where you check in. You’ll have to fill out a waiver for the group or individually. Bring your waterproof phone protectors if you’re planning on getting on the water activity things. Lots of free parking spaces. They have grill areas as well in the park. Nice and easy location off of the highway.

What's up googlers!!!, Me and My home boy got here real early in the morning, it was at least 9:00/9:30am by the time we hit the water it had to be around almost close to 10:00am. Stay there the whole afternoon didn't leave into like 4 pm so we we're there for about 5 hour's... You definitely want to pack a cooler with you and bring lots of drinks and snacks, if you plan on staying on the island when we got there. there was a family that was making a small barbecue so they had the right idea... You 4sure want to be safe and bring your phone with you keep it in a book bag where it can stay dry. You definitely want to make sure you have upper body strength because you're going to need it the waters are very safe. My friend was telling me that the islands are man-made supposedly I have to Google it not 100'/. Sure but there's up and down traffic boats that are anchored so there are a lot of people always going up and down this River... I want to say that I felt safe but it is still the ocean so you have to be aware of your surroundings but in all honesty I felt very safe... Wear sunblock if you plan on kayaking for more than 2 hours... The kayaks are very strong, the staring rate $30 and then $5 more after each hour.we split the bill it came up $140.00...so depending on how long you plan on staying it could get very expensive... It's something you definitely want to try once with the family or with friends the staff was amazing... You know what to do like and subscribe 😀

Stayed in cabin 10. While there was some water damage to the walls, it was a wonderful cabin to stay in. I also loved the hot showers and the convenient location. There was one full bed and one bunk bed in our cabin. Got a little cold so I'm glad we had so many blankets in the car. You have to bring your own linens.

Great Florida State Park in the middle of civilization. Great for kayaking and mountain biking. It also has a beach area, trails, pavilions, views of the bay, and even several small log cabins. Has ample parking and clean restroom facilities. Nice place for us city folk to get away without going away.

We arrived early in the morning and had the kayaking spot all to ourselves. It was incredibly peaceful paddling through the mangroves, surrounded by nature. We spotted some beautiful birds, fish, and even a few seemingly abandoned boats. It was truly worth it. Don't forget to check out Groupons first for some great deals on kayaking!

I visited Oleta State River Park as part of an event for our organization. The staff is very friendly and kind. The park itself is so beautiful and clean. My only suggestion would be to add signage to each individual parking lot so that it’s easy to know what parking lot 1 is versus where parking lot 2 is. It took me a little while to find out where to park for the event. Overall, I can’t wait to visit this location again!

We just love this place! perfect for kayaking, sup etc. Going around with the bicycle (you can also rent there). Bbq, picnic... and of course the white sand beach. a little crowded on weekends and holidays, especially if you plan on a BBQ place. super nice people come here. they charge 6 $ for a car.

Beautiful state park to walk, bike or paddle. Plenty of parking, the beach is nice and rarely crowded, lots of wildlife, and if you really want to get away from it all just paddle out to one of the islands. Mountain bike trails are good, something for all skill levels; I do wish they were better marked, and sometimes I start on one trail and end up on another without knowing it, but that's part of the fun. You really can't get too lost here.

Great park, reasonably priced rentals and an amazing staff. $45 for a tandem kayak and $5 per half hour thereafter. All of the life jackets were brand new and fit well. Oars and boats were also in great condition. Get the kayak and go to the Sandbar its definitely fun to do. Pro Tip: on top of sun screen and water I would highly recommend some insect repellent. The skeeters out there are super aggressive and very hungry, especially if you are as delicious as I am.

Huge, beautiful and very well maintained state park. There’s activities for everyone: kayak rental, bike rental, observatory, fishing pier, beach area, picnic and BBQ areas everywhere, trash can and recycle bins all around the park in all areas. There’s different size pavilions, I think up to 30 people can easily have a nice outdoor celebration with a beautiful view and the convenience of having the parking lot and the restrooms just a little walk away. Hiking trails, bike trails, camping area (upon reservations)… the list goes on and on. No DOGS allowed, and Parking for 1 vehicle (6-8 people) is $6 all day. The park is beautiful and hopefully this review encourage others to visit and promote our state parks. No loud speakers and of course no littering. Florida is so rich in nature and is everywhere, keep your local and state parks clean, support and thank the park rangers of your community in any way you can.

The park is located near the north beach area. It has a nice location and not very crowded. The entrance fee is $6 per vehicle (cars). It closes at sunset. It has nice trail for biking. Options for kayaking is also available. There are plenty of shelters for booking. We saw lot families visiting this place especially to a section where a small beach area and a park with grills make it perfect spot to hangout.

We decided to visit on a cloudy day to do some kayaking! It was really fun afternoon! Don't forget ID. We used kayak for around 1 hour but there are options for 2 hours and all day. There were a few snacks in the shops and cold drinks so would recommend a picnic.

My first time kayaking and it was amazing. My daughter and I were able to rent their kayaks and they were nice enough to explain to us how to use them(first timers), at the desk. Then when we went into the water to get on the kayak they helped us gave us instructions and showed us to the spots we wanted to go. Also, there are plenty of nice people kayaking that you can ask for directions on the way of your kayaking, because there are different points to go to. We wanted the groves and swimming beach and they directed us fine. Beautiful park and you feel very safe with other people partaking in different activities.

Honestly, this is my new favorite park for mountain biking out of the main three parks in the greater Miami area. The trails are so much fun, they are a bunch and have great flow with challenging climbs, drops, and plenty of technical parts. Note: Many trails are roughly maintained, and you can easily take a wrong turn, so stay aware. This also makes for a more make your own line in the trails, which is a lot of fun.

The best place for kayaking! If possible, go on weekdays to avoid the heavy weekend and holiday crowds. The staff is consistently friendly, and the surroundings are stunning. Don't miss manatee season!

This is a beautiful state park north of Miami. We came to kayak. Our first time, we couldn't go because it was too windy, so there was no kayaking. We had better luck the second time. We kayaked for about 60-90 minutes. There's a nice loop path through the mangroves that's really pretty. Part if it goes out into the harbor and to a beach. The beach is a nice place to stop and relax. The park itself is great. I'd recommend bringing your own kayaks if you have them though. It was easy to rent them, but when we tried to return them, the company makes you wait in the same line as people who are waiting to get a kayak. It was fine when we got there, but we waited almost an hour before we could leave (and they had our credit card so we had no choice). The kayak rental company isn't great, but the state park is beautiful.

I recently had the most amazing experience exploring the kayak trail at Oleta Park. It was like stepping into a serene paradise just a stone's throw away from home. The trail took me through a picturesque landscape of lush greenery and peaceful waters, creating a sense of tranquility that instantly melted away my stress. The best part was encountering the native wildlife along the way. I spotted graceful herons, playful turtles, and even had the privilege of witnessing dolphins swimming alongside my kayak. It was a magical experience that truly connected me with nature. The park staff were incredibly helpful, providing all the necessary equipment and guidance to ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure. If you're looking for a peaceful escape and a chance to reconnect with nature, I highly recommend exploring the kayak trail at Oleta Park. It's an experience you won't want to miss. Love the falcons I meant hawks I believe lol that roam freely here and cats! Very peaceful quiet a lot of nature paths bear by beautiful place where you can sit on the rocks to either photograph or spot lots and lots of Lizards! Little pond area for swimming as well and lake area I'm assuming is for fishing and boating cool place overall great place to sit and watch the sunset!

It was nice, but hard to get to, staff wasn't great, and unfortunately overpriced. Could be a nice activity if you have your own car and gear so you don't need to rent. We didn't see any manatees, stingrays, or dolphins. But the occasional fish jump and bird. Coolest part was seeing a full double-rainbow after the rain.

Great park for kayaking. They have a wonderful beach cove where the water is always calm and relaxing and an excellent midway point on your kayak excursion. My family and I have been kayaking this location for years now and it is definitely our favorite location. They have recently updated all of their equipment which is even a bigger plus.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful paddle out here amongst the mangroves. It's cool to paddle by the boats parked in the water. We ways bring our own boards but we've also tried the kayaks during a moonlight tour and that was fun! They have amazing bike trails a definite must try!

I've gone to the park a few times and enjoyed the vibe in North Miami area! I rented a kayak with a few other folks and we paddled through the mangroves out into the open waters. Was hoping to see a manatee but didn't quite pan out. The trail walks are clearly marked and easy to navigate, but bug spray is a must.

This is a Florida State park, and it is awesome! Nestled in the midst of high-rise buildings, concrete parking lots and shopping malls is this little gem. It is awesome to start your day kayaking, cycling, or just have a picnic. Well worth the price of admission. The park staff is great and makes your visit even better.

Great park, especially if you live close by! At the end of the day it’s best if you have a bike or a kayak to enjoy (or both!). There is a nice beach area to relax at and/or plenty of gazebos and tables to enjoy. We went more to hike, and although it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t the best either. We were so excited we saw a Cuban anole lizard, something I’ve always wanted to see!

I love it! A river that turns into a beach. You get soaked in the river and then in the ocean. What else can you ask for? This place gets full, quickly. There's camping and it's FUN 😊 My kid loved it!! Make sure to get mosquito repellent, a must.

Great park for so many activities like biking, kayaking, picnics, etc. very clean and well kept. It does get very full on the weekends and if you don’t arrive early they may not let you in due to the park being at capacity. My only complaint is that they seem to need more staff at the rental office. Having just one person is not efficient and creates a huge line.

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well! Today, Wednesday Oct. 19, I went kayaking at Oleta River State Park with my cousin and two friends from work! The plan was made last week to go kayaking, hoping that the weather would play in our favor, and it kinda sorta didn’t. Yesterday was a beautiful day with only a few clouds and like three scattered showers, typical Miami weather. Today hit different, there was no sun and it was cloudy, rainy and the worst part of it all, cold. But no worries, it was all good! We managed to have a great time despite the uncalled for mini thunderstorm. We sheltered from the rain on our kayaks in a mini tunnel that connects the canals and were able to stay dry for most of the storm! So thankful for the mini tunnel shelter! My two buddies rented kayaks from the park itself and were rated about $35 for a one seater and $45 for a 2 seater plus $5 per 0.5/hr. To me it seems a bit pricy but not too bad especially since it is in a great location with so much in the area to do and see. I have my own kayak so I only had to pay the entry/parking fee which was $6. Last photo shows the tunnel that saved us during the storm!

Oleta park is a very nice place and really natural place to spend time with your family. The only thing i don’t really like is that in the girls shower there isn’t a door and thats you guys have curtains that are a little see thru. Oleta Park should consider fixing that problem in the girls showers and put doors and take out those curtains. Also there are a lot of mosquitos so you guys should consider fumigating because there are a bunch of them. Other than that the place is wonderful for family to spend time.

Perfect place to paddle board and picnic. With friends. They have paddle boards to rent. Perfect group activity in SoFlo not revolved around drinking and brunch. Bring bug spray! It goes from fresh water to salt water and it’s beautiful to see the change in habitat and sea creatures. We have seen dolphins and sting rays and so many other animals while paddle boarding and kayaking.

Cabins are great, but make sure you close the door at night and keep bug spray on you. Bringing a uv light trap for mosquitos may be smart too. Beds can be uncomfortable so bring extra blankets or a duvet. Great place to kayak or paddle board around

What's not to love about this park. Been coming here for years. Great rentals, people, atmosphere. Only downside is that recently they moved where an individual can put in their own personal vessel (kayak, canoe, etc.) Away from where typically you would put your kayak or canoe into the water with the others that rent. Park officials stated it was due to covid-19 but the spot where they are sending individuals to put their personal vessel into the water is awful. Only enough space to launch one vessel at a time. Floor was lined with sharp rocks prime to rip up your personal vessel and a safety concern. This spot needs work to bring it up to par with the standards that oleta have set countless of times in the past.

Bem basica a loja. Mas passamos algumas horas em familia bem divertidas, em contato com a natureza. Valeu a pena!

Tje park use to be one of the greatest parks in the nation. They stop to ma8ntain the mounting bike trails and today it was completely flooded and the guard didn't let us know. Entrance fee lost as we had to leave right away... Too bad. It use to be a 5 stars park...

Totally worthy to come to this amazing park in the middle of North Miami Dade. Biking different trails around the mangroves. But if you like water sports so kayaking, board paddling or bring your small boat. Camping and BBQ areas. If you just want to chill out then you will find some spot with natural shade. Beach. Plenty of parking. Affordable fees. Sunset tours are available as well. If you like nature don't think twice.

I have my bost there in anchorage. I work 7 days a week I am restoring my boat. I like the comradeship of the other boat owners and the great public service of the Park Rangers and support staff. Everyone is neighborly. The rangers make sure that you are safe and have the ability to have a great time. The support staff keep the grounds clean and clear of unsafe conditions. The guided canoing trips are excellent and the paddle boarding gives you wuite a work out. The pavilions are clean and well equipped and just right for an incredible gathering. The wild life offer nice photo opportunities and the fishing is good. The mosquitoes are a little rough on dsys that are not windy. There is a l9t of breading this time of year. Long sleeves and repellent make it a lot more comfortable. Its a pet friendly park. Please keep them leashed and under control. When an animal is injured its not just the anmisl and owner that are hurt its everyone that see ir hears a out it that's affected. It's so much fun to visit this wonderful park please practice safety first. These are some of the greatest staff and suppit people in the state system friendly and a great help in making your family gathering or event a success. I haven't used them cabins myself so I cannot comment. Hope to soon.

Great place although the pavilion are far from the parking lots. The bathroom were not too clean and Doors were broken. All in all a great place for the family to enjoy nature

Been coming here for years and years now. Lately it’s the mountain biking that has been bringing me back every time. The trails are fun and challenge for me. Great way to be outdoors, get some exercise and explore a large portion of all the beauty that Oleta River State park has to offer.

Very well maintained State Park! It has beautiful views and it’s nice to get some peace and quiet once in a while especially in Miami. I’m not much of a nature person but the views alone make it worth a visit!

Great park for canoeing in Biscayne Bay, seeing manatees, sting rays and mangroves. Park has great infrastructure for renting and launching paddle boats and canoes.

I’ve been to Oleta more times than I can count and it’s always a good experience. I love their full moon kayaking experience the most! One downside is that they get packed super fast! The line gets horrendously long. Other than that, it’s a great experience!

Such a fun and beautiful park! Recommend arriving early if you are visiting during the weekends. The beach gets filled quickly and the kayak wait is shorter early in the morning.

I’ve been coming to this park for years to kayak. I love the views, and the area. If you are not paying attention, the mangrove trees will knock you off your kayak, or your kayak can get stuck on the mangrove roots/branches. The staff used to be a lot nicer, but last time i went, they were very busy. It’s a very big park, with a lot of space to cover with the kayaks, bring a hat, sunglasses, and SPF because you will definitely get sunburned.

Beautiful state park for so many activities like biking, kayaking, picnics, etc. very clean and well kept. There is a nice beach area to relax, plenty of gazebos and tables to enjoy , clean restroom facilities and plenty of parking, it does get very full on the weekends and if you don’t arrive early they may not let you in due to the park being at capacity.

Oleta brings me so much nostalgia 😭 I recently visited after about 14 years! I took my oldest son and I couldn't help but be obsessed all over. The park is so clean, beautiful and well maintained. They have fun activities, side walks for walkers skaters bike riders and etc.

The best park I have ever been to. $6 per vehicle is a steal. Located in the middle of the city in north Miami. Kayak rentals. The beach is beautiful and clean.

Had a blast and my son loved it. They have kayaking, nature trails and a natural beach. Would recommend to friends and family.

On that Sunday there was a huge line of cars so we decided to walk. After marching for half an hour in scorching sun we reached the promised oasis. Every inch of that was claimed by boomboxes and barbecues competing for the loudest stinkiest presence. We couldn't even talk for the noise.

I love this park, they have everything except one glaring omission - no boat ramp. All that land and water and no ramp for small boats. Other parks like St Andrews SP have one, just not this one. You have to leave the park for a City ramp and pay a hefty fee to launch and then another to park your vehicle and trailer. Other than that, I love going there, you’d never know you’re in the midst of a congested city like north Miami.

Oleta park is a very nice and calming place to be with your family i liked the Location that i was in it was very nice and calm the only thing that i dont like is a key for the bathroom and that the girls Shower has a curtain instead of a door like the mens bathroom and maybe u should consider putting atleast a fan in the bathroom because it gets really hot in the bathroom especially when u want to change and u guys should fumegate for mosquitoes because there is alot alot of them. other then that the place is a wonderful place to disconnect from everything and spend time with family.

Pet friendly & affordable park with a space for everyone to enjoy 🐶🏞️ I was looking for a pet friendly park that wasn’t an actual dog park and Oleta was perfect! It was only $5 to get in on a weekend. We walked through the trails but beware that they are FILLED with mosquitos 🦟 and I mean filled. Make sure to bring lots of bug spray and wear long sleeves so you don’t suffer with bites like us.

The beach looks beautiful, the only thing it smells so bad, like garbage and rotten eggs. I don't like swimming there because the smell is so bad, the park should do something about it. I avoid going on the weekends or holidays because it's so crowded, you won't find a table or a good spot. But if you go during the weekdays, you will enjoy it more

Great spot in North Miami to go walk, bike, paddle boarding or kayak. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The price for kayak is reasonable and it's just overall a great spot to go and spend some time in nature.

Delightful quiet, clean and well managed park. I loved to rent tandem kayaks with my husband and go snorkeling plus grill a steak on the free BBQs 😋 Now I have my own inflatable paddle board to enjoy which a lot of people use there.
