Okay, nice enough but not what we expected. They do give you a map of all the Art Deco buildings in the area but if you found your way here the rest isn’t difficult to figure out. The “museum” is a racing museum, if that’s what your coming for then great! The Art Deco portion is small and not much - a couple of poster displays. Clean bathrooms and air conditioning make it a nice pit stop. Gift shop has fun vintage pieces and some new things, pricey. Outside is a great photo op at the clock wall.

We really enjoyed our walking tour of the art deco district with Martin. He was extremely knowledgeable and insightful and we were surprised how much we learned that wouldn't be obvious just from exploring the area ourselves. The tour felt a little pricey but it definitely was worth it!

This place is very small, but quaint. I like to know the history of places I visit. This place really gets into the Art Deco Era. It also had an additional exhibit on reto radios. Both exhibits were good. I like the Art Deco Era, especially fashion and jewelry. The place was not busy. I went during the week. There is a gift shop. The gift shop has normal souvenirs, but they have a great collection of posters of Art Deco and Art Nouveau. I love this side of Miami. This place is located on Ocean Drive and has a lot of buildings that were built in the 1950s. Beautiful. Be aware things can be expensive on Ocean Dr., especially drinks. Our Pina Colata was $30, but the people were nice.

Im an architect and I brought my partner and another architect friend on the tour. My partner left elated at their first architecture history lesson. Our tour guide, Rick, was fantastic! Welcome back Rick!

South Beach is the hottest ticket in town, with Restaurants and clubs in every corner. The Art Deco buildings are well kept and the neon lights bring all the accents of the architecture.

Ocean Ave is blocked off to traffic so the restaurants can expand their patio seating. Honestly it’s pretty nice to not have to worry about cars everywhere. Beautiful to look at all the architecture. Wonderful beachfront park.

A pleasant 2-hour guided tour and walk to learn about South Beach architecture and its history. Guide Julie was enthusiastic and pleasant. $35 is a fair price for an informative walk. I reserved in advance online. The Friday morning tour was probably 40 people but Julie didn't lose us.

We walked through the District while participating in the annual Art Deco Festival. There is block after block of amazing hotels, bars and restaurants. All next to Lummus Park and the beaches. Lots of people walking their dogs while strolling through here. The festival included exercise, music, antique cars and more.

This area is really packed with people, bars and restaurants. The building are beautiful but in general the area can be quite hectic. For sure worth a stroll, stick to the pathway across the road for the best view of the building and get the full impact 🌴

Friendly, knowledgeable staff! If you're a student or local, it's free entrance. If you are none of the above, entrance is $5. The gift shop offers vintage post cards & other memorabilia. Stop in for brochures before you plan your day in Miami Beach!

Great place. Has local transport and tourist information, so that's your nearest place in South Beach for this. It also has the museum of Art Deco, which documents the history of Ocean Drive and is definitely worth a visit. Great little exhibition in the centre for $5 entry. Well worth doing. 11th Street diner a block 6 you would be daft to miss that experience as featured in Diners,Drive Ins and Dives. It's such an excellent place.

This is a great place to wander around. We parked the car on the front for a few dollars and walked up Ocean Drive, stopping in a restaurant for coffee and ice cream on the way around. The people are great to watch and the buildings like well preserved works of art. It's certainly worth spending a couple of hours here.

Welcomes centers can often be just blunt nondescript buildings. Not here. This place blends in perfectly with all the art deco hotels in this historic district. Inside you will find nothing but overpriced kitsch souvenirs and a very friendly staff. They do sell ice cold bottled water for a buck.

The art deco exhibition was really impressive! It was so nice to learn the history of Miami's hotels and architecture. I felt really happy when I spotted some of what I learned around the city. Entry is free for student and $5 for adults.

I went here and met the wonder Beatrice and Jeremy they gave me a history tour of the property and it’s amazing took me back in time they have one of a kind pieces you won’t find anywhere like this vintage Chanel bag made with shells and the jewelry wasn’t breaking my pockets they have something for any budget it’s also a hug part of art deco and proceeds go towards saving the Miami beaches art deco architecture ( I just learned this and it’s so many beautiful locations from the 1920’s with original art work and buildings)

Small one floor museum which gives insight about miami beach architecture. Also from 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, visitors can find out all there is to know about where to go and what to do in Miami Beach

Paola led our 2-hr walking tour and it was a great way to understand the history and more specifically the architecture of Miami Beach. She was really informative on the architecture and history of each building. Most importantly, the non-profit proceeds fund the historic preservation of the area, so it’s worth the cost.

💯recommend the Art Deco tour. The guide, Julie, was wonderful, great energy and stories. The tour included also the history of Miami beach, not only Art deco buildings and their history The Welcome Center was ok for a short visit and souvenirs

Honestly : disappointing ! As a former art studentI appreciate good exhibitions. This one is only two small rooms, one dealing a lot about the uprising of the medium of radio broadcast. In between the lines there are always references about the rise of Art Deco. The second room has pictures and a video on loop. A small Vitrine with objects and books. I definitely would not recommend the visit which is 7$ or free for students. Check the two videos I post so you know what you’ll get.

The folks here were great, both in the store and the museum. I was able to get some excellent and detailed info on the historic district as well as some good dining suggestions and some help with battling the heat. I plan to go back and take advantage of one of their walking tours.

This is a small museum but take the time to go outside and find the buildings in the 1400 block. So much cool stuff and very reasonably priced. Military is free

Beautiful and totally unique in the country. The colour palette is wonderful, the people are beautiful, the beach is right there, the restaurants and hotels are great, it’s totally walkable, etc. There are a million reasons to come here, so just do it. It’s a must-see if you’re in Miami.

This was awesome as it is right on the beach and speaks of the great history of Miami's art deco scene.

Central location on Ocean Drive. Between News Cafe and Versace Mansion. Here, it's all about Art Deco. In the gift shop: posters, postcards, t-shirts, and interesting books. Friendly staff. Tours thru the Art Deco District are offered.

Beautiful! Busy night life. Restaurants and bars on this strip automatically add 20% gratuity. I do not agree with this tactic as the service in my experience is poor - waitstaff are either not trained or couldn't be bothered to check their customers to see how their first bites are. This is trade off you make when dinning in this picturesque setting.

Nice place for a small walk and obligatory point on Miami map if You're a photographer - especially equipped with a tripod. The place, where Tony Montana (Al PAcino) made his first deal in Scarface.

  • 4/5 Emmanuel P. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of different restaurants and drink spots. Performances and music and quick access to the beach. Also there is a nice work out area outside. They definately are charging top dollar plus 20% mandatory fee at any restaurant in the district. Or on ocean drive.
