Twelve acre Founders Park in Aventura is dedicated to those who helped to get the city incorporated in 1995. There is a monument to the founders of Aventura in the park. There are two sections of the park, north and south. The south section bayside which I visited is on the promenade that runs along the Intracoastal. There is a paved walkway and the Aventura Community Green Garden. Residents of Aventura can lease a a 4 x 12 foot garden plot for $110 a year. The northern section of Founders Park is for Aventura residents only. There is a welcome center; a quarter-mile, four station exercise trail; ADA accessible playground; sun shelters; tennis courts, and a multipurpose athletic field for baseball, softball, football or soccer. The park is also the home of the Founders ParkSplashPad, a water play area inside the park. Admission is free for Aventura residents and non residents used to be able to pay to use this section of the park but this year they closed to anyone that does not have ID saying they live in Aventura. This is the first city park I have ever come across in Florida that is closed to non residents. This is probably a 5 star facility if you live here but if you are from outside of the city you are not getting in the north side of this fenced in park.

Only open to Aventura residents, I’ve never heard of such a thing! Even staying at a hotel in Aventura I was not able to bring my toddler in to play. Simply ridiculous in my opinion. Perhaps when I get back to NYC we will only allow city residents to enter Central Park 😒

A long time ago, I left a review about this park being one of the best in Miami area. The city management made me change my mind after letting a third party company to run the tennis courts for commercial use. As a resident, you can not reserve the courts anymore. On the top of that, the management prioritize a group of residents to use the courts almost every early morning hours. The reservation system always reserve for those specific hours for those specific groups. The city is running the tennis courts to make money and serve some of their own elite groups like a third world city managements.

The most amazing park I've ever been to. Kids loved it and splash pad is almost like being at a water park. Wish we had places like this in NY.

Best Playground in the North East of Miami-Dade County. Best of all, it's for Aventura residents only. What a blessing. When they open the field again it'll be even better. Shalom

Park is only open to Aventura residents so be aware. The place is well maintained and it has an awesome splashpad and playground for the kids. There are bathroom facilities and fields for soccer and other sports. Splashpad is great for young children. Be aware that there is limited space in the shade so come early or you might have to wait.

Clean, great playground, love the splash pad! Residents only park and I love that they’re strict about so it doesn’t get over crowded and there is always parking.

They really should add a $ to the park on Google maps. I was not expecting to have to pay $10 to go to a splash pad.. so overpriced. Ladies restroom was locked... had to use the men's. The worker who was in charge of the splash pad seemed to be under the influence... just not what I expected from a park at all.

Aventura, you can do better. Grapeland Water Park is the same amount (non-resident price) & it’s an entire water park, not some tiny splash pad. Grossly overpriced. The splash pad isn’t even that great - there are better ones that are cheaper & even free! I just went because it was the closest to me. First time, last time. Go to another splash pad / park if you live close but not an Aventura resident. Not worth it - it would have been better just putting sprinklers in my backyard. Do better, Aventura.

My daughter and I love this place, and for summer, it has a super fun splash pad. If you are an Aventura resident, you don't have to pay a fee if not, you can pay it by the website

Had an amazing time at the water feature. My toddler absolutely loved it. We made sure to arrive at 10:00a as my wife and I suspected it may get busier around noon. Surely enough as 12:00p creeped up we found ourselves surrounded by parents hurdling behind their children. The park is very well maintained and clean. The staff is always cordial and friendly and most of all very well mannered. Very happy to see tax money getting well spent. Looking forward to returning time and time again..

Very rude lady at the entrance with Pride she told me “I been turning people around all day” I’m In 192nd street and 22nd NE, it’s by greynolds park, my license say Aventura, Fl 33180, she turn me and the kids, very rude and mean. The city shouldn’t have this kind of people working in here.

Be aware that if you're not an Aventura resident, there's a fee to pay for the park and splashpad. You need to show a receipt of payment before going in.

*** update Aug. 11, 2023 trees being cut down!!! And, planned artificial turf for soccer field!!! HANDS OFF OUR PARKS! As of May 2023 the City of Aventura has destroyed the Founder’s Park South section, the community garden and tranquil nature Park is no more! Absolutely unfathomable...I hope the photos will be a good reminder how beautiful it was. People will be talking about this for a long time.
