I
want
to
start
out
by
saying
I
am
a
nurse
leader
at
WRMC
and
if
you
know
anything
about
nurses,
we
don’t
go
to
the
hospital
unless
we’re
dying.
Nevertheless,
when
I
suddenly
experienced
severe
upper
abdominal
pain,
I
went
to
another
hospital
more
local
to
where
I
live
and,
after
sitting
in
the
waiting
room
of
their
ED
for
a
couple
hours,
I
decided
to
leave
without
being
seen.
When
the
pain
started
back
up
again
several
hours
later,
there
was
no
doubt
in
my
mind
that
my
husband
would
be
driving
me
to
Wellington.
From
the
moment
I
hit
the
doors
of
the
ED,
the
care
was
timely
and
superior.
My
experience
in
the
ED
was
top
notch
from
registration,
to
the
nurses,
to
Dr.
Kendall.
They
took
my
concerns
seriously
and
treated
me
with
compassion.
My
nurses
on
2
North
were
equally
as
wonderful.
They
listened
to
my
needs,
they
were
kind,
informative,
and
advocated
for
me
when
I
was
ready
to
go
home!
I
would
love
to
name
all
my
individual
caregivers
but,
as
a
former
bedside
nurse
myself,
I
know
that
it
takes
a
village.
Nurses
are
team
players
and
even
those
who
didn’t
directly
care
for
me
contributed
to
a
successful
stay.
And,
in
case
any
of
you
are
thinking
I
got
treated
well
because
I
work
there…
most
of
them
didn’t
know
who
I
was!
With
all
that
said,
one
thing
is
for
sure…
any
time
myself
or
someone
I
love
requires
hospital
care,
we
will
make
the
drive
to
Wellington
bypassing
other
hospitals
that
are
closer
because
they
truly
care
about
their
patients
and
their
community!
