Every once in while you meet a rockstar. For me, it was yesterday when i first went to the Pembroke Pines location. There, I met Carissa who was absolutely determined to ensure that I could have my appointments as soon as possible. Understanding the urgency, she did everything she could from the moment I walked to make it happen. She even recommended an alternative imaging service since her schedule was absolutely packed. I mean who does that? - you know who - someone who puts customer care first! Carissa was more concerned that I had my situation addressed as soon as possible. She not only provided with the address but locked me into an Akumin appointment days away, if her suggested spot could not accommodate me. She also promise she would immediately contact if something came up. Unfortunately, the "other company" did not accept my insurance, but fortunately Carissa did not give up the hunt. I received a call from her today when there were changes in the schedule, and she could plug me into the schedule with each of my scans right after each other. It was great, and my technician Nicole was the consummate professional and did a great job. So for the epitome in customer service I can easily say that Carissa did not raise the bar, she is the bar!!

Follow the other bad Reviews. Make sure you take your day off if you sadly booked an appointment with this mess of an imaging place. 12:30 appointment and has to wait over 3.5 hours for an mri. Don’t tell people to fast if you’re going to have them wait incredibly long. Also terrible communication, got told the insurance would cover certain things only to get to the location and find out that wasn’t the case. Not very organized, half the employees seem lost. Reply people don’t bother I’m not reading your response to this review and not coming back to this or any akumin location for that matter.

It was a really bad experience, I received a text message about my confirmation appointment and they never mentioned about what I should dropped off to my appointment, even I called the day before they no mentioned about the required to take in order to make the exam. When I arrived they only said I should have taken some requirements they never mentioned before and no gave me another option to do my exam after 1 month waiting for and driving about 25 miles to get there. Awful experience and poor customer service experience.

I went to Akumin Pines location to have 2 ultrasounds, a mammogram, and a CT of my heart that I scheduled over 2 weeks prior, only to be told that they would not do the CT unless I wanted to pay $99 to not use my insurance. They said they had not recieved the prior authorization from my insurance yet (still pending). I told them my insurance covers 100% of my imaging at this in-network facility and asked why I was not told that the pre-auth was not in when I was called yesterday to confirm my appointment. I decided to go ahead with the other things and reschedule the CT and then I was told I would need to pay my 20% up front for those services as well. Well, I am not a mathematician but I think 20% of 0=0. I told them these services are covered at 100% through my insurance and I would not pay up front. I ended up doing the US & mammogram, but I am not happy that it seems like they slack off with getting pre-auths to try to scam their patients to pay out of pocket for fully covered procedures. Please know your insurance coverage if you decide to go there. I'm glad I did or I would be fighting to get over 200 back for overpayment. On one good note though... the technicians that did the procedures were very nice.

Only have this place 2 stars because the tech knows her job but that's it. Prepare to wait 1 hour for your CD with your results. Tech lied and said I didn't ask her for it when I did. Asked the front desk staff who also "forgot' to give me the CD and then said tech didn't tell them when I had already asked. Ridiculous. Patients should be able to charge when staff is irresponsible. I ended up being late for another appointment. Who will help me then. Go here if you have nothing else to do and can wait all day.

I want to recognize Ninnette at the Pembroke Pines (PP) office for her compassion and professionalism!!! My urologist (Dr. Weinstein) faxed in an order (twice) for a CT Scan and after two weeks I still didn’t have an appointment. I called the Akumin scheduling number only to be put on HOLD for almost 30 minutes and then was told they had nothing in the system for me. I decided to visit the PP office and this is where I met Ninnette. Within minutes she had my appointment scheduled and everything taken care of. Akumin needs more caring employees like Ninnette.

Absolutely unprofessional facility that could cost life to my husband. AVOID it!!! We had an extremely urgent referral, we went all the way to Pembroke Pines just because they confirmed to us that results will be within 24 hours! On a front desk they highlighted PRIORITY status of procedure, technician that did it said "results will be today"... Next day me, my husband, our ENT doctor and our PCP were calling and writing them. One of the ladies on a front desk said she doesn't see PRIORITY status at all and our results will be ready in a few days...!!! after a few phone calls they said they cannot find radiologist and he is in Finland!!! They cannot connect me to manager, they cannot do refund, they can only reply "we will send an email as soon as ready"....

Totally unprofessional. Nothing that you could expect from well prepared professionals. I did a lower extremity ultrasound and the testing lady ended up hurting my leg and the right groin area that lasted for a month. I reported it to the front desk manager and the supervisor on the line told her that would call me to get more information about how it happened. No calls from the supervisor in 24 hours. I called again in 48, 72 hours and 1 week receiving the same information that the supervisor would call. She never did. Totally careless about the customers. If looking for Akumin, at least avoid this location. Sincerely. MB

Just want to say that I went for the 1st time for an MRI. Everyone was very nice and I was taken in a timely manner. However claustrophobia set in and I was taken out of the MRI machine. My doc prescribed Xanax (low dosage) for me to reschedule. Called before going to make sure they were running on time since I had to take the Xanax at certain times. Went back, notified the same girl Brittany that I was on Xanax so that she understood that I was on a time crunch before it wore out. But she decided to grant a favor to the HOT UPS guy. I hear the technician tell her he was ready for me and that the other guy was early as she whispered back to him to take the UPS guy 1st. She then signaled to the UPS GUY that he’d be taken 1st. He thanked her and walked in. I reminded Brittany that I was on xanax and was afraid it would wear out and she claimed that he got there 1st. Not my problem, my appt was before his so then she claimed he had an emergency. I work in the medical field and this is not ok. If my appt was at a certain time and I was ON TIME then I should’ve been taken 1st. I do want to point out that Lincoln was amazing, sweet, detailed, and patient with me. He knew I had a lot of anxiety about being in a closed MRI. The Xanax had worn out after 2 1/2 hours and therefore I was unable to do it again Needles to say, I won’t be returning there. My review may not make much of a difference, but word of mouth does. A person who has a bad experience will share it with at least with at least 9-15. I’m up to 20, not including the social media posts.

The worst possible and absolutely terrible experience. I’ve been waiting three weeks for my appointment. I had an appointment at 3:45PM and I was called on my way that my appointment would be at 5:30-5:45pm. I sat in my car until 5:30 and the receptionist said “we took in the last two appointments and can’t see you.” After almost two hours of waiting, I couldn’t be seen. She rescheduled me for the following day for two appointments 7 hours apart, the first in Aventura; I arrive at Aventura and they told me my appointment was in Pembroke Pines. Avoid this franchise at all costs! Never again!

If I could give zero stars I would, I had an appointment for an X-ray and unfortunately got stuck in a traffic accident and got there 20 minutes late. I called and explained and was told no problem just show up when you can, to my surprise when I get there I was told the tech left because I was late. I was never called or notified about this and drove for 1 hour 1/2 to get there. Unfortunately the VA sent me there and I had no choice but to have it rescheduled. I will never go back to this place.

An awful experience today. Not my firs MRI, went there after they called me 3 weeks ago to cancel my previous appointment because the “technician” wasn’t available on December 13. Can happen. Today (Dec 27th) went there for a left foot MRI. That woman that did the Mri was miserable, put my leg in an unnatural position, didn’t ask at all if was possible to hold it steady for 20 minutes (the usual minimum time for a normal Mri) kept saying thru the headsets not to move, told her I had multiple cramps because of the wrong position, she didn’t even answer. Front desk was good though.

Akumin in general has gone down hill. In my opinion the equipment is old and out dates, SOME of the places are just very old looking and have n uncomfortable waiting area. Recently they had a nationwide outage and had to cancel everyone's appointments. It was a mess! Please get you act together!

The frontdesk staff is great but the phone service has some miscommunication issues with scheduling. We had to go in person to schedule since the phone service schedule seems to be having alot of issues with availability and showing what's actually available. They said they didn't have anything for weeks on the phone but when we got there they actually did have bookings available. Definitely needs a system upgrade or something. Otherwise our experience in the office itself has been a positive one.

I took my wife here to get a mammogram. They have a few locations and we went to the wrong location in Plantation. After a few confusing phone calls we found out we were supposed to be here. Not a good start but this has to get done. Waited for a long time even with the appointment. Pre-Covid restrictions still apply in the waiting area, making it difficult with the mask on. But okay with the rule, just wish they work faster. My wife said the lady who did the mammogram was extremely nice. The actual procedure took no time at all. Therefore, the average went up to 3 stars. But the next time we may not be so lucky to get the same technician again.

Three hours to try to speak to someone at the Pembroke Pines location! Any number you call gets routed to scheduling who cannot assist you unless you are making an appointment. Their patient portal stops working and they have no one to attend you with IT either. They really leave the client hanging. Zero communication. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else.

I am trying to make an appointment for a mammogram and the staff on the phone line is rude and inefficient. ALONDRA, the operator who answered my call called me a liar and was quite disrespectful. They only make you trouble scheduling appointments, they don’t give you help or suggestions. There are many options for this service and you are treating customer this way. I am thinking of making a report of poor service directly with the insurance company.

I give one star because there is no option for zero star. I had my appointment for mammogram on December 1, 2021. The day before I received a call the machine was out of service and they re-schedule me for January 6, 2022. And I just received a call the machine is out of service again and the next available appointment is February 10th. They don't care about the patients.

The wait was short. I was in an out in no time! The staff was very nice. Annie went above and beyond to help me. I was somewhat confused. She made me feel extremely comfortable, relaxed and mission was accomplished. I can’t thank her enough. Mammogram technician Erika was nice too! Great experience! I switched to Akumin from another imaging center very happy I did. Thank you Annie!!

Only reason I gave two stars is for the check in process/girls. Super smooth and seamless. The rest…. Awful! Let me start off by saying j work in healthcare. I’ve worked with ultrasound techs in the past. I’m well aware they can’t tell you much, especially not diagnose you. With all that being said, Nicole was the least empathetic tech I’ve ever met. First off, patients are there for imaging for a reason… probably not a good reason either. She was silent the entire exam. So I didn’t say much either. At the end she told me your doctor will have the results in 3 business days so probably Tuesday because today is Thursday. I said okay. Were those spots I mentioned to you noticeable in the screen? Were they noticeable? Did you see anything? “Oh yes. I took lots of pictures. My doctor will look at them and get back to you. You can exit and head out to the left.” Are you kidding me?! I’m not asking for a diagnoses. I honestly was just looking for some sort of conversation at that point but nothing. Stone cold! I was always under the impression people enter into healthcare to take care of others, show empathy/sympathy. Honestly, she was the last person you’d want to see when you’re having imaging done for a problem that you’re having. Least comforting feeling possible. I left more nervous and annoyed than j was when I originally got there. I will never go back there and certainly never recommend friends or family. I can’t imagine anyone would want to lay on a table in a dark room in silence and be examined by a stone cold, emotionless ultrasound tech.

The service is really very bad, the waiting times are very long and not to mention the telephone service which is really non-existent, in my experience I had some tests done and it's been more than a month and they never sent the results to my primary doctor, it's really frustrating and disappointing

This Akumin location is fine. My wife and I have been here before. The problem is Akumin's sceduling system. Akumin has centralized all scheduling. You cannot talk to any location. You always on hold (43 minutes and the 25 minutes with no answer). They force you into using the calback feature. I am sure this is the result of some idiot MBA efficiency study. The old method of showing online the open schedule times was much more efficient.

Despite of the front desk staff is not bilingual, I give this place 5 stars because the ultrasound technician Pedro was the sweetest team member in this place. He made the difference making me feel fearless about my procedure. Way to go Akumin, keeping this valuable staff in your team.

I had an appointment at the Pembroke Pines location for a MRI on my foot. The appointment was on time however when I got in the back for the MRI , the technician told me they don't do the whole foot and I had to choose. NO ONE TOLD ME THIS WHEN I CALLED FOR THE APPT. Because I just injured my ankle I choose that part but I still have an issue with my whole foot. Now I have to try an get another authorization for another test. How do you do a partial MRI?

Everyone was nice. Every thing went smooth and fast. They were able to get me same day appointment. I got an MRI , I was in and out in 30 min, with an appointment. So glad I didn’t listen to these reviews!

👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Rafael just made them lose a possible patient, I called in to make an appointment, he asked many questions about the prescription, when I told him I could not read doctor hand writing, he wanted me to fax in my prescription in order to make a simple appointment. I rather go somewhere else.

My doctor ordered a CT scan STAT, I had it done on Friday at 1045am, and today is Saturday, and there are no results. They are closed tomorrow, so there are no results until Monday. How is this acceptable waiting 3 days.

Front desk staff (Marie) , extremely rude. She kept complaining and saying Jesus every two min while she constantly sighed. She was annoyed, impersonal, unfriendly and unprofessional. My MRI tech (Grace) was pleasant, polite and professional. Front desk needs training and better management. They are the FACE of the facility.

Had to cancel my appointment bcse i wouldn't hv anytime to contact Dr to get all the cds they requesting last min... I’ve been to both the Pembroke Pines location and Miami Beach location s couple of times and didn’t have an issue until my spot in Pembroke Pines today. Staff have been pleasant and technicians great. Place is clean. But today I went for mri of abdomen and pelvis with and without contrast. The lady who did testing was awesome. My issue is when I made appt nobody explained the length or details of test. I have a very bad back with surgery coming up in less than 2 weeks and had no idea I would be laying down and not moving for over an hour. I also had to hold my breath through a series of pictures for 15-20 secs each time one after another. I am a severe asthmatic. Asking me to hold my breath for 20 secs feels like an hour to me. If I had known I could have taken extra medication for both my back and my asthma. I cried throughout most of the test. It was extremely painful and the second I lay down I start to wheeze. I started to get sick and dizzy after first couple of times I had to hold my breath. The technician was so supportive and kept talking me throughout the whole test. She was amazing and felt so bad and even asked me if it was explained to me by front desk when appt was made or during confirmation of appt and I said no. My appt would have went a lot better if information was given to me. Instead I walked out in excruciating pain and difficulty breathing in tears. I couldn’t even wait for copy of pictures that’s how bad I was.

Wonderful place. Very courteous and caring. CT scans can be scary to me, but the male technician made me feel very comfortable, and he was very reassuring . Thank you
