Meet Captain, a female teenager turtle who has had quite a life! She survived a boat-crash. They have converted The Carpenter House into her new permanent home after having visited several facilities. She seems very happy during her meal at 3:30pm you can enjoy a brief story of her life and ask questions to the feeder in turn. It does not open sundays and mondays. It does have a wheelchair access and there is parking right on the streets

IF YOU ARE ON VACATION READ MY REVIEW!!! This place was one of the most amazing welcoming and educational places on my whole trip. I was walking from dania to Hollywood and there was A/C while I was cooling off I took a chance to read the many displays they had available. It made me conscious of the ecosystem that I was calling a vacation spot. I became very conscious of my footprint and did my part like we all should to protect marine life and their enviorment.

Small but loaded with information! Totally worth the visit. Staff was fantastic! They taught us about the different turtles and we were invited to touch the shells and see the little turtles upstairs. “Captain” the Sea turtle was magical! It is free but we were happy to donate to the cause!

What an awesome place. Glad they kept the old house as is. It's like stepping back in time. They have two full time rescued sea turtles that have severe injuries caused by boats. I remember seeing Mrs. Carpenter years ago on my bike rides on Surf Rd. Glad they have honored her home with such a wonderful cause.

Its a very nice experience to talk to the people in charge, they are very informative about the marine life. We took our baby with us and after that we went to the beach around the corner 1 minute walk.
