Complex coffee from an adorably unassuming spot. They have several varieties of beans and in-house roasting. I wasn’t sure how to order my coffee to get the most flavor and they offered solid recommendations and excellent advice that resulted in me getting a delicious cup of coffee. They have a lot of coffees and teas to choose from with lots of unique flavors.

If I could be friends with a cafe, this would be it. Calusa has a great chill home-y vibe with kind owners cultivating relationships with regular customers. This place is great for the serious coffee aficionado. The atmosphere reminds me of the Broward I grew up with when there were still more trees, less apartments and more cows around. There is plenty of shaded outdoor seating and cozy indoor seating. If indoors, you get to see where they roast their coffee. The food and coffee menu isn't extensive: it's a no-frills place that's serious about the coffee quality instead of making unicorn double-stuffed popping pearl lattes. And the food menu is small but everything I've tried has been excellent. I've had their cheese danish, banana bread, vegan empanadas, quiche and croissants. I've bought beans from them quite often too. The quality and the down-to-earth service keeps me and a lot of other people returning often. I truly love this place and every chance I get, I bring friends, family and my dog to hang out under the trees.

Sweet little café, friendly staff, but sadly very disappointing coffee. While this is a roaster, it’s certainly not a new wave speciality coffee shop. The roast was plain, the coffee burnt, the coffee size old school American (ie. huge regular “mug”). But, the milk was frothed nicely and had micro bubbles. All in all, I couldn’t drink the coffee and this just is not a place for coffee snobs. But otherwise it may still be a better option than Starbucks for those that just need a caffeine fix and want to support a local business.

They are the best coffee in town. I’m just passing thru Fort Lauderdale, but upon searching Google for coffee, this is really the only logical choice unless you are one of those strange StarDunkinBucks drinkers of horrible coffee. This is a micro roaster. It’s dank. Roast the beans right there in the shop. You can smell the amazing aromas from outside when you walk up. Excellent. Stop scrolling and start heading over now!

I had Calusa coffee today and it changed my life, truly the BEST coffee I’ve ever had! It’s a cup of coffee that lets coffee be… coffee! It’s the first time I’ve had coffee where I was able to taste the notes of all the flavors the bean has. There was no burnt flavor, which unfortunately, I’ve found to be very common at many cafes. Plus, the cafe is owned by a beautiful couple, Luis & Maria, who are super personable, and from the short time that I was in the cafe - I noticed they have many repeat customers, whom they know on a personal level. The cafe itself is so cute and gives off a homey vibe. This may have been my first visit, but definitely won’t be my last. If you love a great cup of Java, give them a try 🤩

Nice hidden gem! The staff are knowledgeable about everything coffee and the fresh batches I bought was a big hit in the house. This will be my go-to coffee place for grabbing a cup or buying beans going forward. Highly recommended

Lou is absolutely amazing and always makes for a wonderful experience. The coffee is out of this world to die for, hands down best coffee I ever had. The place is very relaxing and a great way to spend any part of your day. Oh and cannot forget about the pastry, absolutely delicious 😋 Must go check them out you won’t regret it, you will just want more!

As a former barista, I genuinely appreciate he doesn’t do large batches of drip coffee - that’s gross, regardless of the quality. I’ve been in Miami for 3 days looking for a coffee shop that doesn’t burn their drip (insanely difficult to find) and has an area where I could plop down and get some work done. Today, I found it. This is the best Americano I’ve had traveling across 10 states in the last month. I am actually geeking out I’m so happy I found this place!!! - Calusa Coffee’s newest regular

The Literal BEST place to get espresso never had espresso that healed my soul like this cappuccino, calusa never fails to deliver. Don't waste your money on Starbucks and Dunkin because they will inevitably make your coffee wrong anyway.

I go out of my way to stop here for coffee. For one, I enjoy avoiding large chains and second, it is mellow in here! Which is funny when they are serving up caffeine! Eco friendly cups are a nice touch!

Great locally owned shop right off the Highway, a wonderful find! Instead of stopping at the chain coffee places, come here instead. Awesome coffee & vibes. Highly recommend!

South Florida's best coffee is this one! The aroma of roasting coffee greets you as soon as you pull up and exit your vehicle. This is the best coffee available without all the filler that the chains sell. Better than average beans, freshly roasted! There's no need to consider traveling elsewhere. There is plenty of parking on the Commercial perimeter road as well as in front of the building. You can hang out in the garden at the back, outside, or inside if you're not in a hurry. Furthermore, we only use eco-friendly materials here—no plastic. The proprietors are amiable and eager to converse.

It is a cosy coffee shopping and have delicious coffee from all over the world and one of my favorites are the Brazilian and Kenyan beans. The owners are very friendly, they make everyone feel at home.

I'm normally a black coffee and sugar type.... But when you walked in the aroma of freshness was amazingness in your nose... Ice latte with almond milk, 1 sugar( I-added)🔥🔥🔥🔥 will frequent this place more often. Buying a t-shirt next time I'm there. Must try if you truly enjoy coffee and family environment, chill mode spot for sure... ☕☕☕☕☕☕☕

Best choice I made was grabbing a latte and bringing beans back home to Texas. I was able to enjoy it twice! Great coffee. The taste is remarkable. The owner is friendly and passionate about making good coffee. No frills drinks - not a place for a Frappuccino 😀.

Had a quick morning coffee break at this hidden gem. Great vibes and staff was very friendly. The coffee was great! The parking was free, the place is clean and with great decorations. Recommend it!

Decided to give Calusa Coffee Roasters a try instead of Starbucks. Best decision I made that day! Great customer service, he gave me a quick run down on my options and what their signature coffee was. The smell of the coffee beans roasting onsite added a lot to the experience too. I spent the rest of the day bragging about how well the coffee tasted. Would recommend!

Calusa is a fantastic coffee establishment. You can smell the perfection as you pull up. The very best in town. We also now feel like family. Really is the best coffee shop in Broward.

  • 4/5 Perks A. 3 years ago on Google
Calusa Coffee is located in a converted house. While the immediate area is somewhat gritty, the roaster creates a pleasant environment. They do have their own roaster and serve the standard barista made drinks. Calusa has both inside and outside seats to sip your coffee. The coffee was decent although they had less emphasis on the “artistic design” that you typically find in similar higher end speciality coffee shops.

  • 5/5 Rachel T. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent customer service! The staff is super helpful and friendly. Great at explaining their different coffee blends for a newbie like me. Great atmosphere and perfect place to sit, relax, and enjoy some great coffee and bakery goods. Definitely a place to check out!

Truly a great place. Every coffee blend I've tried has been great. No matter the question, Luis takes his time to share his knowledge. You can tell how much they love what they do. One way to see the results is by noticing how happy clients are to come in and see Luis and his wife again. Calusa Coffee Roasters to me is an experience I recommend to whoever talks to me about coffee. Blessings.

The vibes of the place are awesome. If you need a spot to chill and sip some coffee you'll feel comfy there. They inow their stuff there as well! Fantastic coffee, freshly roasted batches, fun blends. Honestly just get a pour over and drink it black, doesn't need anything else it's perfect. But if you want more all the options on the menu slap, too. If you like coffee or if you want to learn about coffee and learn to enjoy coffee better, Calusa is where it's at.

Fabulous place! Louis was very friendly and helpful. The beans are excellent, the cappuccinos are flawless, and the decor is very cute/funky. No more Starbucks for me in Pompano Beach, ever. Support locals! 😊

What an absolutely special place to have here in Fort Lauderdale. The coffee is amazing and Luis’ knowledge is just remarkable. He is so willing to share all that he knows about coffee and how to make it taste the best! I love coming here and I’ve already bought a bag of their beans and gotten an amazing Cold Brew using their Colombian beans and an iced pour over using their Kenyan beans. I can’t wait to come back many more times!!

I would give 4.5 if that was an option, but it is not, so I gave it 5 stars. Calusa is a small coffee house, quite literally a house functioning as a coffee establishment. It was very cute and inviting. They roast the beans in house and you can even watch the process. The service was friendly and welcoming. I had the cappuccino and my bf the latte and we shared a delicious chocolate almond croissant. The coffee was very good and had zero bitterness (a sign of good roasting and brewing techniques). They do not flavor the coffee for you and thus provide a small selection of sweeteners. Overall I enjoyed the ambiance and the coffee. This would be a nice place to go to for a casual date or meetup with a friend. The inside is pretty small with limited seating. I would not recommend for very large groups.

Cute little coffee shop with quality coffee. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I also tried an almond croissant which was delicious. It was relaxing to hang outside for a bit on their patio.

Been planning to stop by for months and finally did. Spectacular! From the primo equipment to the technique (thank you for not pouring the shot over the ice), this was the best espresso I've had in a long time. Thanks!

Super convenient if you’re driving through I-95, great local coffee shop with quality coffee and the perfect atmosphere to work / study

This place is the level of awesome where you come in and the owner is roasting coffee as you’re ordering. The cold brew is 💪, next time I’ll go for an espresso. There’s also a really cool patio to hang out!

  • 5/5 Melissa M. 11 months ago on Google
Both the pour over and vegan banana walnut bread were outstanding. If you are a coffee lover this is the spot for you. It’s next-level quality coffee. The service was great and the back patio is a relaxing spot to enjoy a cup. I’ll be back :)

It's possible they have the best cappuccino in Florida. This is coming from a Berkeley California coffee aficionado. Great tea too. They use quality beans which they roast onsite. There's nice outdoor seating and it's a very social place we met some new friends there.

  • 5/5 Liz H. 11 months ago on Google
All coffee is superb. Wide range of single origin beans. Cold brew that really wakes you up. Espresso that is delightful. And for a decadent day, the iced latte with house-made caramel is heavenly.

The atmosphere and the coffee smell is so good nice music ambient , and of course the coffee was perfect.

  • 1/5 Daisy K. 3 months ago on Google • 2 reviews New
Cute place but coffee was horrible and overpriced. My regular order is always the same, large black coffee with a shot of espresso. They suggested I don’t get the shot since the coffee already comes with a “triple shot in it”. They poured the coffee from the back so I really don’t know if it just got poured from one of those hotel style coffee machines with the pitcher underneath which I call “tar in jar”. Coffee came out extremely light in color and weak in flavor, and the cups were far from your typical large. Maybe you’ll have a better experience.

This is the best coffee in South Florida! When you drive up and get out of your car, you can smell the coffee being roasted. This is coffee at it's finest without all the fake stuff the chains offer. Superior beans and freshly roasted! No reason to think about going anywhere else. Plenty of parking both in front of the building and on the Commercial perimeter road. If you aren't in a rush, you can hang out inside, out front, or the garden in the back. Also, no plastic here - all eco-friendly products to go. Owners are friendly and are happy to chat with you.
