This unassuming establishment is tucked in a strip mall. It's easy to find using Google maps. Parking is good, no shade to speak of. Inside is a bit bigger than the exterior let on. The place is clean, very tidy, with few decorations. But make no mistake, it's Japanese decor reveals sense of authenticity. The pork buns were super delicious, soft & yet crunchy. I went with the pork Ramen which was served piping hot, as it should be. The portion was quite small but you get 2 sides. Everything was delicious, & not over salted. The bathroom is clean, but single person use. The server was excellent. $$$

The food was decent but it was presented kinda sloppy. Im hoping they get it together because of the potential. I went to the Miami location in the food hall and i enjoyed it way more. I’ll definitely come back because they have more items on the menu where the food hall does not. The inside was very spacious with booths and tables in the middle. They also have a cool samurai shrine on the inside. The waitress was nice and attentive which was a plus.

Better than average BUT- Good- food was great! Appetizers were just as good as ramen. We had the peppers, cucumber, and octopus balls. Each had very distinctive tastes. The ramen was very good lets dig deaper- broth was very rich and hardy. You could taste the time and effort put in to it! The pork and other ingredients very fresh snd well done on presentation. The noodles were fresh snd good way above average but not the highlight of the dish. Service- very nice and polite. Helpful in making choices. Its nice to see humans not afraid to talk! Bad- The decor is really not up to par. The floors and ceiling are unfinished? The table and chairs are yard sale? Maybe 3 Asian decorations? Overall- Shimuja Ramen has the food to be the best ramen in the area but wow it takes a hit when it comes to presenting itself to customers. B

I was craving for ramen after attending a car show. Found this place not too far from it. The pan fried pork dumplings were tasty. Their Satsuma Tonkotsu pork broth ramen was great. The noodles were cooked just right, pork was tender, and the broth was flavorful. Definitely a ramen spot to check out!

Great depth of flavor in ramen broth and perfectly cooked noodles! Unfortunately, their onigiri had way too much rice and too little filling, and they didn't season the rice with sushi rice seasoning. Gyoza we're just ok. Katsudon was pretty good but not amazing. Kaaeage was amazing. Also, they have an ant problem. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable. I'd just come back for the ramen.

I’ve been coming here for a little over a year and a half now and lately I’ve been coming in once weekly with my little brother and its such a lovely place to come to. The ramen is amazing but I have been falling in love with their rice dishes. The service is also very great, definitely recommend

Came here on a Thursday night and it was a huge disappointment… broth was extremely weak and lacked any depth and was improperly emulsified. Tempura burdock had burnt bits and imparted a bitter taste to the ramen. The noodles were the right type for ramen but overcooked to the point of inedible. Pork belly bao bun was a joke took an hour and was undercooked and not properly marinated. Takoyaki was frozen variety that’s been deep fried. The one saving grace was the karaage which was actually very good. It’s a disappointment when quality ingredients is so poorly executed in a dish

Shimuja Ramen is an outstanding authentic restaurant that you must visit. Everything was delicious and made to order. The portions are very good and the prices are very reasonable. The customer service is outstanding and the owner is extremely dedicated to his craft. You absolutely have to visit them.

This Shimuja location is located near Weston, the atmosphere is pleasant and the Samurai armor inside is a neat addition. However, when it comes to the food I believe this could be a hit or miss based on the day you go. We had the Kagoshima special the broth was rich and tasty for my personal preference they had added too much fish oil, thus making this pork broth taste more fishy, the fried burdock was on the burnt side, therefore it gave my broth a bitter taste whenever I had one of those. I had to remove them manually to avoid this from getting in the way. The pork was tender almost melting every time I picked it up and the egg was spot on. The soup was overall pretty tasty and definitely plan to try out a few more things in the menu. Nonetheless, try the place for yourself!

I really enjoyed this ramen, I only deducted a star because I wish eggs were fully done, I expected soft boiled and got hard boiled eggs. Broth and pork were flavorful and rich. Service was great too, will definitely come back.

Noodles were thick and nicely textured. Broths were savory, and the combination of textures was excellent. Clean restaurant, and everyone was friendly!

Have been few times at this place. And definitely one of my favorite spot for Ramen. But today when I ordered my ramen I was missing my pork. I called them to let them know and also ask if that dish was supposed to have pork. The lady I spoke, confirmed that i was supposed to have my pork and she is 100% sure she did pit pork for every ramen. I felt ignored, especially if i eat there pretty often. Very sad for this experience and poor service.

Hands down, best ramen I’ve ever had- and I’ve had a lot. There are so many mixtures of flavors in just the broth alone- and the pork is such good quality and has a buttery consistency. We come here weekly- highly recommend!

The pork belly buns were moist and flavoeed well. The ramen needs a little more work. It egg should be marinated in sweet soy sauce and cut in half. The broth was salty and noodles were slightly undercooked.

This place is sheer awesomeness. One of my friends from school invited me to eat some ramen with my class after we graduated. The chicken broth, egg, noodles, everything was delicious. The bowls are big and filled to the brim so if you like what you are eating you have plenty to eat. 5/5 would 100% eat here again.

Now this was a hard rating to give because I really wanted to rate this a true 4.7 or even a little higher, because the service is excellent… but there is sometimes an extended wait time and a slight inconsistency in taste. The service is always good and when the right chef is in the kitchen the ramen is delectable! I’ve been here more than 10 times and I’ll be back again. The seasonly dishes are something you don’t want to miss. Whether it’s new appetizers or new ramen bowls be on the look out. If you’re a fan of pork, Kagoshima Spicy Tonkotsu ramen is a great way to go. Lots of depth flavor and umami making it a popular palate pleaser. Try whetting your appetite with some hot sake and the Pork Buns and Gyoza. Pro Tip: If you don’t know what you want ask! This staff has taken the time to sample the entire menu! Their recommendations have been impeccable.

The ramen was delicious! The broth was not too heavy and rich in flavor. The salmon onigiri was not what we excepted, but it was good. The takoyaki was very hot and tasted great. Inside the balls, pieces of octopus is visible. The service was friendly and quick. I would definitely come back to try the other ramens.

I have been loving Shimuja for probably over 5 years now—they never fail. The ramen is absolutely delicious. For all the ramen places I have tried in South Florida, this one has unmatched flavor and care gone into the dishes served. The service is always good and friendly, though they do seem to have a much younger crowd of waiters than they used to when I came years ago. I will continue to drive 35+ minutes to get ramen from them.

Sat Nov 5 2022 Arrived around 1pm ET and ordered food. Food came out within 10 min. I'm currently sitting and enjoying a meal with my sibling while writing this. We ordered the spicy gyoza (meat version), plum wine, kagoshima special, and I had the sansai veggie. Absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend this place :D I added photos of the new updated menu along with the items that were ordered.

OOISHI!! (Tasty) What a nice authentic recipe used here. I am so happy to finally get to try Shimuja! Only place I’ve had in Florida that tastes as authentic as a true Japanese Tonkotstu! The Karaage was also an excellent appetizer. And to top it of a delicious mango ice cream ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ ありがとう!

One of the best ramen places ever! The key lime ramen was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. The egg was super gooey and this was an amazing experience. Coming here again!

The best ramen I have ever had in my life- and I’ve traveled pretty extensively and had ramen all over the world. Shimuja puts so much care and effort into the food, you will never taste anything like this. They make everything in house, from noodles, to smoking the pork belly, and cooking the broth for over a day- the unique combination of flavors is something you will never forget. If ramen isn’t your thing- try the chicken karrage- it’s a delicious and crispy chicken over rice with a Japanese gravy that will leave you wanting more. And whatever you do- GET THE GYOZO! The best gyozo I ever had- ask for it pan fried and with spice on the side for the perfect kick.

Amazing food and service! I had the Salmon Onigiri and my server was absolutely amazing but it seemed like they were under stress. Only one server on a busy day? weird… must be bad management :/

Shimuja is the best! I’ve been coming here for years and in my opinion no other ramen spot can compare to its flavor (yes I have tried other places). The ramen never fails. I recommend trying their fried rice, salmon onigiri and chicken bao buns for other side dishes. All the staff is really friendly and always gives great service every time I’m there. Thanks for the quality ramen and food Shimuja 🫶🏻

Amazing experience at Shimuja Ramen. We order a Tsatsuma Tonkutsu ramen, pork buns, Gyozas spicy and Karaage fried chicken, ramen and pork bun are delicious, I just came back from japan a month ago and I assure you this ramen taste like the ones there, pork buns will melt in your mouth, gyozas were good, chicken good but nothing extraordinarily. Service was great, our server was Jordan, very polite, attentive and he made sure everything was up to our expectations. Thanks Jordan!

This may be the best most authentic Japanese Ramen house in America. The bone broth’s are deep with rich flavors. The Char-siu pork was crispy and tender at the same time, sorry no picture of that too busy eating ! We had the Bean Fish with Ice cream for desert, also pretty dang delish ! Its no wonder this place has achieved near mythic reviews - they’re all true. This small quiet ramen shop lives well above the accolades they have received. Take the time, get off the beaten path and go get a bowl !

Seriously, could have been better. For four servings of ramen & 3 beers & 2 appetizers (plus tax) was $133. The ramen was not impressive at all. Ushcio Sushi (who I do not like) has a more impressive and more effortful selection. The gyoza was horribly pre-prepared (seemed frozen). The only redeemable quality was the pork buns.

Delicious ramen. Kagoshima spicy ramen. The pork just melted in the mouth. Flavorful and delicious. The veggie gyozas were the best I had and the pork buns were perfect. I will definitely come back.

👍👍 First time dining here. Food came out quick and hot. I got the stew, it was delicious! My server Majo was helpful explaining the menu to me and helping make my decision. Good inside atmosphere also. Stayed for dessert and cafe :) Recommend 5/5
