My
mother
was
admitted
at
Coral
Gables
Hospital
(3100
Douglas
Rd,
Coral
Gables,
FL)
last
night
around
9:00pm,
she
was
transferred
in
my
presence
from
the
Assisted
Living
Facility
where
she
resides
to
your
facility
as
instructed
by
her
attending
physician
Dr
Del
Prado.
The
chief
complaints
(extreme
weakness
and
disorientation)
were
listed
on
the
transferring
form
along
with
a
list
of
her
medications.
As
of
8:00am
this
morning,
I
had
not
heard
from
anyone,
so
I
decided
to
call.
The
nurse
Mageila,
informed
me
that
my
mother
had
been
admitted
due
to
high
blood
pressure,
first
warning
sign
of
careless
I
asked
her
if
anyone
cared
to
read
the
paperwork
since
my
mother
suffers
from
dementia
and
obviously
unable
to
communicate
her
symptoms,
she
replied:
"I
don't
know".
Also
told
me
the
lab
works
came
back
negative
including
urine
sample
which,
I
specifically
asked
since
a
possible
UTI
was
to
be
ruled
out.
She
asked
me
to
call
her
back
in
one
hour
and,
so
I
did
many
times
for
three
hours
unsuccessfully.
I
had
Dr.
Victor
Lopez
de
Mendoza,
the
admitting
physician
paged,
his
NP
did.
According
to
her,
my
mother
did
have
UTI
and
dehydration.
My
nephew
went
to
visit
her
and
facetimed
me
while
there,
he
tried
to
wake
my
mother
up,
shook
her,
moved
her
but
she
was
totally
unresponsive,
that
worried
me.
I
also
noticed
she
did
not
have
an
IV
on
which
I
assumed
would
have
been
ordered
to
recover
from
dehydration.
I
had
my
nephew
track
down
nurse
Mageila
but,
she
limited
herself
to
say
that
nothing
had
been
ordered.
Around
6:30pm
today,
I
tried
calling
back
to
find
out
about
my
mother,
nurse
Mageila
answered
after
many
attempts,
I
asked
her
about
the
medications
that
were
being
administered
to
my
mother,
she
mentioned
two
that
didn't
sound
familiar
so
I
contacted
the
ALF,
the
two
medications
had
been
suspended
from
the
doctor
months
prior
and
were
not
included
on
the
list
that
accompanied
my
mother.
Calling
back
Mageila
to
request
stopping
the
medication
was
a
waste
of
time;
she
never
answers
or
calls
back.
I
placed
a
call
to
Dr
Victor
Lopez
de
Mendoza
for
the
second
time,
never
heard
back.
The
careless
and
unprofessionalism
of
that
hospital
show
throughout
all
members,
they
must
know
the
lack
of
accountability
that
exists.
The
reviews
speak
volume,
something
I
should
have
checked
before
allowing
my
mother
to
be
sent
there.
I,
however,
believe
in
second
chances
and
because
your
responses
to
all
negative
remarks
have
a
common
denominator:
to
contact
patient
experience,
I
am
doing
so
and
will
make
sure
that
your
answer
and
actions
or
lack
thereof
are
included
on
all
reviews
I
will
be
posting
on
all
available
social
media
and
patient,
client
advocate
organizations.
Coral
Gables
Hospital
is
a
shameful
facility
and
so
far,
your
mission
statement
nothing
but
a
deceiving
joke.
