My wife, her friend and 2 children (14/15) went on rafting trip organised by BTR. No safety instructions before they started and the water was a lot more wild than advertised. Only one captain on board who clearly was not very experienced. After 20 minutes of rafting boat flipped over and everyone ended up fighting for their lives. Luckily 3 of them got themselves to safety, but my wife's girlfriend got carried 2 kilometres downstream and barely survived. The boat captain had no clue what to do and was in shock, no emergency help training, no medical kit and nobody had any clue what to do in this kind of emergency. Luckily some local people came to the rescue and after stabilising the situation all of them still had to travel by raft (scared as hell) to the finish point. Also here no emergency help available and we ended up travelling by our own car to the hospital (1 hour away) where everyone was treated for some severe injuries and my wife's friend even had to stay couple of days to recover. You can imagine that we are quite staggered by the lack of safety standards and total lack of any emergency training. The owner did show up at the hospital and covered some of the medical expenses and profoundly apologised, but I would like to warn people to join this tour as it only seems suitable for experienced rafters and is certainly not suitable for children as is advertised.

A bit of a negative experience. I found out on the boat they charged me more than double of everyone else. I paid 500,000 and everyone paid 200,000. I was also located much closer to their facilities than the rest of the group. I realise I should have been more cautious, but it’s the first time I feel exploited in Bali. All my other touristic experiences have been good. About the rafting trip itself: the water was a bit low (end of March), but there were still some good parts to raft. Often times I felt like I was being taken on a boat ride more than that I was rafting. It is very family friendly I guess. The scenery is amazing though (especially on the first half of the trip). The 2 stops were not on the most scenic locations, which is unfortunate. I was discouraged to take my water bottle with me. I persisted I needed to hydrate if the trip was 2-3 hours. But my bottle of water disappeared out of the boat when we had to walk a short distance at the start of the trip. Water at the stands during the two stops was expensive. At the end of the trip lunch was served. It was a good lunch with some options. Simple but tasty.

First time doing rafting and it was really a great experience ! Great activity for beginner like me. Whole journey took about 2-2.5 hour, rafting down the river. There’s not much work do because our guide was so experienced that he did the rafting for the whole journey! We get to stop by some natural waterfall for phototaking. There is a pit stop to rest for drink which is expensive (25,000rp/bottle), I guess it’s use to support local business. Overall good experience and recommend to join if you drop by sidemen area!

The river is very scenic and challenging. Be prepared to port your raft when necessary. Ask about the water when you make your reservation. Too high or too low will be a problem. There is a rest place about halfway down that offers drinks, and a restroom. The best waterfall is also at this place. Their rafts are sturdy but our guide broke his paddle about 1/3 of the way down. Snacks are included at the end of the trip. We would definitely recommend!

Highly recommend this experience. The river is long and intermediate level challenging. You have at least 3 stops during the almost 3 hours trip. Be prepared with change of clothes and wear active gear, sun block and mosquito spray before you go on your raft. Flip flops won’t stand the water pressure and shoes will be soaked. Better to wear water shoes. The guides are good communicators and speak working knowledge English to help you before and during the experience. They provided lunch at the end of the trail and it was very delicious and clean traditional Balinese food.

Really enjoyed the rafting trip and the service was excellent from the guide and all the staff... booked tubing but the river is way too rough for that as there are so many large rocks and the river moves fast... so did the rafting instead which was great! Best to bring your own snacks and water as the stops along are very expensive 50k for a coconut and 10k for 1 piece of fruit... they provide a dry bag so you can bring your cell phone and take a photo at one of the waterfalls :)
