It is a Hindu place of worship in honour of Lord Shiva 🕉. Beautiful and well-maintained temple. The sculptures and serenity are amazing. Very pleasant temple to visit at any time of the year. The garden and sculptures inside are pleasant and beautiful.

Visited the temple in the morning and the temple was not crowded at all. Got the blessings of gods/goddess peacefully. The puliogare was amazing! Covid norms was not followed and some of the devotees didn't wear a mask. Finding a place to park the car was an issue. You have to park near the west entrance.

I had a long desire and I fulfilled that by visiting my favorite God Thiruvannamalai Arunachala Eswaran. I came from Ulundurpettai where I stayed previous day with my friend. Tears came out when I was about to enter temple. There was no crowd when we reached there. We can worship Siva upto 9'o clock. During the corona period temple closing time was at 12.30. P.m . Now we can stay upto 9 P.M. we didn't plan to go around the temple (girivalam) as the day was very hot. Almost we spent 4 hours there. Butter milk was offered by some person. We worshipped Siva Pillaiyar Murugan Unnamulai Amman. Finally we went pathala lingam building which belongs to Ramana Maharishi . We enjoyed all the things which we faced now and then. After visiting, I decided to go to Thiruvannamalai whenever get a chance.

Heritage place one Shouldn't miss. we just visited to participate in giri valam . Giri = Hills, Valam = circumambulation. Hence Giri Valam means circling the hill and Arunachala GiriValam means circling the Arunachala hill. Giri Vala Yoga, The Most Effective Spiritual Practice Arunachala Darshan To the human eye, the Arunachala Hill appears to be around 3000 feet high. But to the Siddhas, it stretches out to infinity. Thus we can not even begin to comprehened the spiritual preeminence of Arunachala. The Siddhas say that even Soorya (sun) and Chandra (moon) circle Arunachala without going directly overhead. While there are many deities who are touched by Soorya during His Baskara sparsa pooja, Arunachala is the only deity whom Soorya circumambulates!

Great temple to visit with a lot of history and ancient culture. The temple was extremely good and the vibrancy was great and the temple staff and maintenance of people would have been better since we haven't seen people happy with the maintenance of the temple. But the temple was really great and a great place to visit with friends and family. It gives a totally different vibe when you visit. Ramana maharishi ashram is also nearby and a must visit since it gives a lot of peace

This is less popular temple but historically very significant and offers great views of the main temple from the top. Mother Parvati did penance here and also this temple has history for Ramana Maharishi as well. Its a small hill with some 100 steps. Must visit during day time.

The Thiruvannamalai Temple, also known as the Annamalaiyar Temple, is a Hindu temple located in Thiruvannamalai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Annamalaiyar or Arunachaleswarar and is considered one of the Pancha Bhootha Sthalams. The temple town of Tiruvannamalai is one of the most ancient heritage sites of India and is a center of the Saiva religion. The temple is grand in conception and architecture and is rich in tradition, history, and festivals. The temple complex covers over 14 acres and has four gopurams (towers) adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures. The temple has several mandapams (halls) and shrines dedicated to various deities. These include shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Lord Murugan, and Lord Vishnu. The temple's main highlight is the Annamalaiyar shrine, housing a colossal Lingam of Lord Shiva, one of the world's largest, measuring 9 feet in height and 6 feet in width. The temple has a rich history, with many legends and myths. According to one legend, Lord Shiva appeared in a column of fire to Sage Agasthya, who was performing penance in the area. Lord Shiva was so mesmerized by the sight that the sage requested him to reside as a Lingam in the area. Lord Shiva granted the request, and construction of the temple took place to commemorate the event. Another legend states that Lord Shiva granted a boon to Lord Murugan, who was performing penance in the area. Lord Murugan requested that the temple be a place where people could easily attain salvation, and Lord Shiva granted the request. The temple has been a primary pilgrimage site for centuries, and thousands of devotees visit it yearly. The temple is especially famous for the Karthigai Deepam festival, celebrated annually in the Tamil month of Karthigai (November-December). During the festival, a massive fire is lit on top of Annamalai Hill, visible from miles away. The festival attracts thousands of devotees from all over India and is a sight to behold. The temple also has several other festivals and events throughout the year, including Maha Shivaratri festival, Aadi Pooram festival, and Navaratri festival. I hope this helps!

One of the holiest Siva temples in India. Siva is worshipped here as Arunachaleshwara in the form of Agni lingam, representing spiritual fire. Legend says that Siva has come down to earth and has taken the form of a mountain here. Pilgrims walk around the mountain covering around 14 km as a sign of their devotion. The temple still holds a mystical lustre to it and blends old traditions with new.

An amazing temple to visit. The temple grounds are quiet vast so plan to spend time if you’re into the historical meaning of this majestic temple.

A Devine temple dating back to 2000+ years maintained by various rulers, like, Pandiyan, Chozha, Pallava, Chalukya, Vijayanagar Kings and their chefaines. It's believed to be the abode of God Shiva and worshipped by all. The girivalam is said to be the one everyone perform to feel the divine experiences. Start the Girivalam in front of the Rajagopuram and end there after making a round walk around the hillock.

Huge temple with tall towers in all four directions. They didn't close this temple in noon/afternoon when we visited. Except for one entrance, in all other entrances they charged 50rs for entry tickets, only one temple tower entrance had free entry. Plan your visit on weekdays and other than festival days to avoid crowd

One must visit to devine holy temple located at tiruvanmalai. Lord Shiva and parvati are main deities of this temple. Very well maintained and clean. Temple is huge so need at least 2/3 hours to see. Nice arrangements to maintain crowd. Temple open till 9PM but Google mentioned it as 5PM. There is separate prasad counter on payment basis. Foot stand available outside the temple. Parking is bit tricky

It's a lovely temple with a long history. It feels great to be inside. In terms of operations management, it's unclear why and how some people jump through the queue all the way to have darshan while others wait in queue.

Very well blessed. Wonderful place. Girivalam route was awesome those days. Now it became commercial. Cement slabs and roads, shops and house around. Lost the natural and nature connectivity.
