    The only negative I can possibly think of is they were already sold out of the beef ribs when we arrived and we weren't in town long enough to get to try them! We ended up getting some brisket - actually moist! And pork ribs and sausage. All were great and the closest to being in Texas that we've had without actually being in Texas.

    Wow! I go to a lot of barbecue places all around the country. It's my favorite type of food. This place has been the best so far. I understand that everybody likes a different flavor and taste, but this one is perfect for me. The sauce was sweet. The meat was delicious, Juicy, and falling apart. The mac and cheese had a little bit of spice to it which was perfect. Today was beef rib Friday. So I ordered that and a taste of brisket. The beef rib came as a giant chunk of meat with no bone. I was surprised. It was delicious!

    Found some awesome brisket in Rapid City South Dakota. Best BBQ Brisket I’ve ever had outside of Texas! Also some great folks running the place!

    My only complaint is he is to close to my house....it's way to easy to stop by for that delicious BBQ. The quality and consistency of the food is unmatched anywhere in the 5 state area. If you like BBQ you will LOVE THIS PLACE...they even cater....I'm getting hungry just reviewing this place...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!

    Best BBQ in Rapid City. The sides are all good, but the meat is the main attraction. Brisket, pulled pork, turkey, sausage and ribs all smoked Texas Style. Served with white bread, pickled onions, pickled jalapenos, and pickled pickles. They've got your Texas beers such as Shiner, as well as Big Red and Dr. Pepper for the kids and teetotalers. Worth the visit and would go back.

    We happened upon this gem during a cross-country move. I am from Kansas City, so I didn’t have high expectations but THIS IS THE BEST BBQ I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. UNREAL. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and a great vibe. We had pulled pork, slaw and beans (the pickled onions are incredible). The BBQ sauce - perfection. If I could move this joint to KC it would be the only BBQ I would eat.

    Super cute barbecue place! We love barbecue and we’re foodies, always looking for a new place to check out. Brisket was out of this world. Brisket nachos, basically set me in a good mood for the rest of the day and then ALL the sides. Had me singing how much I loved JRs Rhodehouse BBQ pit lol can’t wait come back for more

    Amazing BBQ far North of the Bible Belt. Every bit had a touch of heat which made for an amazing meal. This small mom & pop restaurant makes great food and provides a welcoming atmosphere.

    There is nothing bad to say about this place. The pulled pork sandwich was perfectly cooked, and with the toppings of Jalapeños and pickles it made it even more exceptional. The Mac & Cheese was unique from any other kind I've ever had. It was creamy and just melted in my mouth. They also had a large variety of drinks, even including Jarritos soda. With the incredible smell and BBQ decorations scattered around, I knew from the moment I walked in that the food would be amazing.

    This is one of the top BBQ restaurants we have eaten at and trust me we have eaten at sooo many bbq places in many different states!! Brisket was sooo good… well seasoned!! All of the sides were great… esp baked beans everything was flavorful with good seasoning!! Nothing at all bland like some bbq places!!! We are from Indy travelling through the West otherwise I would be a regular customer!!

    Live this place. BBQ is as good as anywhere in the USA. Super fresh, owner is an awesome guy. We love this place. Smoked turkey is next level. Best brisket in the dang country.

    This is the REAL DEAL BBQ! Owner even took me back into the pit to see the prime rib he was preparing for the dinner special. I had what they call a Mac Boat, which is Mac n' cheese and a meat (mine was pulled pork). He knows how to make Mac n' cheese! Cheesy, peppery, smoky, and green chillies... Best this Mac expert has ever tasted. Lots of interesting condiments available and bottled drinks. Wife and daughter had the brisket sandwich with a side, Cole slaw was excellent they said. This place is not to be missed. Something my wife said, you even get to see real cowboys here. Heh.

    Food is great! Brisket is absolutely amazing! Atmosphere I didn't rate a 5 but that's because I'm not a country fan. Other than that, 5/5 restaurant.

    Celebrated my b-day at JR's. Noted the renovations. My brisket and pork belly was great and I love the coleslaw. Husband enjoyed his favorite pulled pork sandwich. I like the relaxed atmosphere and staff was friendly.

    Traveling through from Washington State, stopped here and was thoroughly impressed the food was AMAZING and the service was great. Trying to figure out time to stop by again and try more. Had the Brisket, Pulled Pork and Jalapeno Cheddar link, Baked Beans and Mac & cheese.

    Really great experience here. Food was incredible and reasonably priced. Got here at opening and there was quick moving line. Recommend all three meats we had, brisket pulled pork and ribs. No bad choices. Pickles jalapeños and onions seemed pickle in spot and really fresh. Family running the joint seemed to really care about the place and people coming through it.

    To be honest with you, I almost don’t want to give this review because I don’t want them to get so much business and I miss out on all of their good food lol. But seriously though this barbecue is the best barbecue my family and I have ever had, and I am from the south. The customer service was also beyond amazing. Hi Monica! My family and I will be back next summer for vacation and we will definitely be stopping here multiple times. Love, Candice!

    Went in with few customers in it. When left was packed for lunch. Best brisket I've had in a long time. But the Mac n cheese was gross 🤢. All the smoked meats were really super yummy corn bread and beans were great.
