Good place for drinks, tacos, and intimate live performances. Havent had the tacos, but the drinks and performances were good. Small venue in the rear, holds about 100 people. Parking is atrocious, so figure out an uber or taxi from another location, we parked at sugerhouse, taxi over then walked back. Easy peasy.

Just one of those awesome local pubs that you love telling you’re friends you live by. Throw this one in your faves if you love awesome karaoke, open mic, and taco specials in Northern Liberties. Can’t miss it, just look for the big red O!

Best bar in Philly. Kyle and the entire staff have been nothing but good to us over the years. Drink specials are great. New taco menu is fantastic. I’ve seen some of my favorite local and nationally touring bands in the back live room. They’ve got DJ, karaoke, and comedy nights as well. Something for everybody. Vintage dive bar feel but super professional. Check it out.

Excellent Karaoke on Saturdays

Ate great Mexican tacos (pork). A tiny live music spot that smelled like walking into a little leather, a bit of sweat, miscellaneous booze, fog, etc. This place smelled nostalgic to me (GenX-er). The staff were choice, very kind and welcoming. Looking forward to my next visit.

Came for a metal show. The venue is VERY small, but I think intimate is a better term. The sound was perfect 🤌 The beverage prices / happy hour are decent for sure. Will definitely come back.

My favorite bar to visit when I’m in Philly. This place is a historic gem. A lot of the famous jazz stars used to play here. I love that they kept a lot of the history in the bar. The bartenders are the best. Highly recommend it.

I hosted my 40th birthday party here, and it was everything I could have wanted. I had several live musicians and brought my own catering. The rental came with a sound guy, Dino, who was super accommodating and professional. The bartenders were really sweet, and everyone on staff, including the owner, made extra effort to make it easy and fun for everyone. All the guests and I had a really good time and smooth experience. I would definitely host an event here again!

One time I saw two people have such a good time at ortliebs, even singing karaoke -vibe is hitting right they started kissing each other and they were cousins, and it was with tongue, ! 5 stars 🤩

Decent beer selection, friendly door guy, quick and attentive bartenders, good music. A little loud, but I'm a little old so it's probably me and not the bar. The back room performance space is a decent place to see a band or whatnot. Oh, and Taco Tuesday is 👍👍

Very lively but well managed bar. Went for a Friday night show- bands were SLAMMING and the door price was very reasonable. The separated music area sounds great, but also blocks sounds well so you can have a conversation at the bar. Drinks were priced just right too, and there were food options before 10. Bar tenders were very professional and fast! After the music ends they do some music and dj events at the bar so you can keep the party going all night if you want. 5/5 stars I absolutely will be back.

Small cozy place by the bar. Didn't walk to the back for the band. Went there for a drink. Must show proof of covid vaccine card before entering the place along with your I.D card.

No food but super sweet small live room for GRREEAT SOUND!

I was one out of two promoters who booked a show here today. First off super nice cozy vibe and atmosphere. The bar feels straight out of a Tarantino film and overall has a super fun welcoming vibe right when you walk in. The staff are very chill and laidback but really professional. We had a situation today and after letting the bartenders know them and the bouncer took control of the situation and handled things in a very professional manner that didn’t take away from the show. The venue also took really good care of artists hospitality wise and payout wise as well. Super look forward to booking here again and coming back more and more. One of the best underrated bars of Philly!

I went to Ortleibs because my friend was selling his East Coast Empanadas there. Hadn't been in a long time. They had outdoor tables to sit at, and great drink specials too! The empanadas we absolutely delicious!!! So glad I went. The staff was super friendly and even took our picture! I will definitely be back again soon!

Don't sit outside even when they tell you to when you don't see a server because no one will service you. Kind of disappointed because the outside area looks so nice!

Thanks Ortlieb’s for having us ! Great room to play , perfectly sized and easy enough to fill. This place has a massive system that sounds p good! Dino was quite helpful behind the board. We play sort of DnB industrial inspired tunes and volume is key. I will definitely try and book at ortlieb’s again when we come back to the east coast. Clean, safe environment, easy to find parking, I am just so grateful to this spot for hosting us . Til next time ‼️

good luck enjoying your time here if youre not a white gentrifier / philly transplant :) i saw the only visibly queer + non-white people in the entire bar get kicked out despite not having done anything wrong. the vibes here are awful. go somewhere else, heck anywhere else, if you wanna enjoy live music without feeling threatened by the staff and clientele
