I just got home today and i really liked this facility and I would recommend it to anyone in need of the help. Considering the fact that I was only there for the detox part of it I did get a lot out of the place with all the groups I attended. My counselor Sarah was great and I was very comfortable with her. The medical staff as well was involved with you and made sure you had gotten the medical care you needed and cared about how you were doing the whole time and are very involved with you. Not a lot of places have medical staff that care and are involved with you from the minute you walk in to the minute you walked out the door to go home.

Starting my recovery at Cherry Hill turned out to be a better decision than I could have imagined at the time. The staff is top notch and the overall feel is beyond welcoming and comfortable. It was a scary move for me to finally get help. Had I only known a place like this was out there I’d have made the call so much sooner. It is early to say it but I am confident I will talk about The Recovery Village as the place that saved my life. I can only hope that my review will help someone who is in need to not be afraid and pick up the phone. Whatever your addiction may be Cherry Hill can help you turn it all around.

I checked myself into Recovery Village solely for the detox program. The facility is beautiful, very clean and well kept. The nursing staff in detox were all very kind and gentle with their patients. Melissa, one of the nurses was absolutely wonderful, she made my uncomfortable days comfortable, which I was very grateful for. The BHT Shannon deserves 5 stars all around. She was the sweetest, most comforting, understanding staff member in this facility. I will remember her forever, and I’m forever grateful for her.

I was at the residential program for 14 days and have to say it was an absolutely horrible experience. The group and the community was great, but if you plan to have clinical therapy or clinicians meet with you? Good luck. Most of the employees have quit and the staff is low “because of covid” , there was no psychiatric help or one on one therapy. It was wake up, group therapy, then more group therapy, then group therapy, then sleep. There are no Tv’s in your room. Even the phones don’t work, you have to rely on the nurse’s landlines. It was my birthday while I was in the facility and my family brought me chocolates, I never received them. My family and fiancé had called multiple times to check on my progress and me in general and nobody was ever there to accept the call. On the policy handbook it specifically states “one family therapy session a week” I didn’t receive any. It was an ongoing theme with not only me but other patients as well who were under the impression they’d relieve clinical therapy, family therapy, and one on one sessions but didn’t. There was a worker there who said herself that her brother was having substance abuse issues and this is the last place she’d send him. That says enough in my opinion.

My experience at RVCH was definitely a mixed bag, but nonetheless I give it my heartiest recommendation. PROGRAMMATICALLY - what it teaches, and how that is delivered - they are stellar. Their "recovery soup" was an innovative approach, a real mixed bag, that combined elements of 12-step, SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery in way that was truly enlightening. Jimmy's classes in particular stand out to me; his teachings on how to achieve and live a sober life were both eye opening and transformational. But it is indeed a group effort by staff; the various classes and topics complement one another quite well. But there were definitely issues. The place itself - while physically wonderful - suffered from an appalling lack of support staff, who were almost to-a-one overworked and stretched waaaay too thin. It is not at all a smooth, well-run operation; in fact, they are depressingly inept with smaller issues. For example, incoming packages get lost, messages are not delivered, and promises are not kept. However the meals - for that matter the whole dining experience - was really top-of-the-line. Full props Steve, Antonetta, et al. The individual counseling left much to be desired. If one is lucky he meets with a counselor once a week for an hour, and much of that time is spent frantically attending to outside duties on one's cell phone or laptop (this is the only time one gets to use one's electronics). My therapist Deana pretty much dropped the ball as soon as she discovered I wasn't willing to do an inpatient IOP (Intensive Outpatient) there; I recieved no further direction, no referrals (which I asked been requesting for the five+ weeks i was there), no lists of meetings. The truth is, I signed some papers and left. Not to worry, I am getting everything I need on my own at home now. But that part was disappointing, to say the least. Yet even with the aforementioned caveats, I would definitely recommend RVCH. Like I said, the crux of it all - teaching skills and knowledge to guide and help one to live a successful sober life - is done better there than any other facility I have ever encountered (and, ugh, I have been to many!) And the people I met there. the other residents, were overall just wonderful. We have formed a tight knit and supportive outside group that has been my strength since leaving a couple weeks ago. Come to RVCH, I say, It is far from perfect, but WONDERFUL in the matters that REALLY count.

The staff is amazing! My therapist Melissa stayed by my my side from day one until my completion date. Rec therapy Erin couldn’t be anymore helpful than she is. Not only during her group but afterwards helping me with refuge recovery and other activities. From gym time to yoga this facility has so much to offer as long as you get involved the sky is the limit.

My experience at RVCH was nothing short of amazing. The staff members were so helpful and truly cared about each patients recovery. The facility was clean and highly functional. The step down process with treatment was perfect in the way they helped ease the transition back to normal life outside of rehab. I’m extremely grateful and blessed to have the experience I had there it helped me tremendously.

Hi my name is Logan. I am 6 months out of my stay at Recovery Village, Cherry Hill NJ. Recovery Village has given me the tools and confidence I need to forever see the light and have hope in life. I entered the village lost and in a very dark spot, and left smiling and just simply being grateful for another breath of fresh air. I am 23 years old so do not fear young ones. Attacking fear brings so much growth. Vulnerability = Strength. Thank you Recovery Village for everything :)!

My son has been at the recovery village for nearly 50 days and there has been no response from the nursing team, and very minimal communication with the therapeutic care team. I have been calling and leaving messages for weeks and learned that my son wasn’t given a medication that is critical in his recovery. The phones are never answered and messages are never returned. Dozens were left and there is one week until discharge and I am left with no knowledge of the discharge planning. As a medical professional I am very disappointed and disheartened by the facilities that are supposed to be preparing someone to transition to home healthcare or a sober living facility. There has extremely limited communication and collaboration with our family, and that is only when I’ve called 10 times and receive a brief call in response to my worry. Families of addicts and those inflicted with mental health disease are the ones that care about the individual and have been picking him up from the ground and taking him to a safe environment over and over. My son continues to relapse and with my son’s experiences, I see a pattern of poor discharge planning, poor interdisciplinary collaboration, and complete disorganization with the nursing and medical staff. Other than my son having a strong number of residents that are supporting him in the facility, I’m not sure what has the care team has done and what they are currently doing to treat and manage his condition, and the goals and plan to prevent another relapse. These are the questions that should have been addressed for weeks. I have called and left messages with no response. Due to a lack of staff, I cannot reach anyone at the facility for days and this is now impacting me visiting this weekend. Our system is completely broken to help those suffering from mental illness and addiction and this is a primary example of poor care.

The “outpatient” partial care program is One of the WORST programs I have ever been to. They ran out of my SUBOXIN. I was unmedicated for almost 2 weeks even after putting in 3 medication refill requests. Over $200 worth of my personal items went “missing” at intake. and a guy I was in treatment with had $358 dollars in cash go missing from his belongings upon intake as well. The female Technicians hit on male patients. Good luck seeing a doctor if you get sick here, you practically have to kick the door in on the doctor office to even get the slightest hint of medical care. Then they’ll force you to go to group sick, and threaten to kick you out if you don’t go. I have never been in treatment and felt so uncared for, practically degraded for having mental health and substance abuse issues that I’m trying to get help for. Staff communication is the worst imaginable thing ever, the only answer you will get for ANYTHING is “I’ll send an email”. DO. NOT. COME. HERE.

At first I was disappointed because no everything they tell you on the phone was true but I was there to save my life. I was there to do something different because the way I was living was not ok. The counselors there are AMAZING. You learn how to heal and to grow. I thought I knew everything prior to going in because I was a 12 stepper for several years prior. RVCH taught me I did not know everything, I have to surrender, I have to make tiny goals for me each day. I have to sit with myself and process everything that goes on. Stay the whole time, it may seem like a lot but it is so worth it. Recovery Village changed my life and taught me how to love myself.

The staff was mostly fantastic. Even when I had an issue with a counselor they did everything they could to make it right. In fact they dealt with any issues I had well. I got a new counselor after and she was awesome. Saved my view of therapy and helped me as much as she could. There’s a few really good counselors at this place. One went out of his way to talk to me privately even though I wasn’t his client. That went a long way and helped me greatly. The nurses all were super helpful, and most of the bht’s and a few in particular were very helpful and just good people. They seem to hire a good amount of people in recovery and having that connection helps a lot as well. But just being a good person helps alot and most of the staff are. Tina at the front desk is amazing. One of the nicest people ever and gave me candy more times than I can count! The kitchen staff were amazing as well. They made good meals every single day 3 times a day. And the rec specialist had new ideas and fun things to do every day. Both directors were super helpful. Fallon helped with any issue presented and tried to listen to the people. But what makes this place 5 stars is the people around you. I didn’t know what to expect going in but it’s just “normal” people. All people just like me. People that understand. You form bonds that you’ll have for a longtime if you’d like. You’re with people who have also been through alot like you have. It definitely helps. The people I was with and became friends with I’ll be grateful for forever.

I would not give this place even a one star. I was on the phone with them trying to get them to get my son home and they let him walk out the door while I was on the phone. They were fully aware when they accepted him that he had a mental problem. They had no idea how to deal with this. If your loved one has a mental illness please for their sake do not send him here. The reason they gave for not bringing him is that he did not have an aftercare plan because the halfway house they called would not accept him. They made him walk out knowing he did not have a coat or a place to go, they did not care. They will be hearing from my attorneys. On top of that they would not return even when we told them it was an emergency, and this was days of leaving messages. The place only cares about the insurance money. Keep in mind we live over 100 miles away it was extreme cruelty what they did to my son!!! They refused to give him a ride. I was forced to give one star in order to post this. I am only posting this so that anybody who has a loved one with a dual diagnosis will not send them here. There is more to this story but I cannot get into all the details. I don't want anybody going through what we went through with this place. My son still has not arrived home yet. I wanted him to get on the phone so we could pick it up that did not happen. They just let him walk out the door knowing we were trying to make arrangements for him to get home safely! just so you know the train took him to atlantic city a mentally ill person and it is 814 and the next bus does not leave until 5am. how responsible these people are, not to mention caring and compassionitate

Good evening,if you are reading this review either you or a loved 1 is looking for a treatment facility. This is your lucky day, Recovery Village is the place to go to for treatment.I had a long 40 year untreated drug and mental health issue, and I decided to finally get help. From day 1 Tina the receptionist,Jamal the Bht supervisor,to the nurses treated me with the utmost respect, and dignity.I was in Detox for 3 hrs Melissa again made sure I was comfortable,I was nervous and scared. Then I went to the Residential part and Millie made me smile, met the community and instantly I was made to feel part of a family. The group therapy is second to none.Jimmy taught me about simply saying really before acting on an irrational thought this concept blew my mind,Erin and Erica spoke of behavioral aspects and how they effect our actions, then rec Erin blew me away with a simple question, what do you do for fun?I honestly couldn't answer,I am 58 and I had no idea what fun was. This is week 1 I am on fire, then I met Jenn my clinician, her compassion and love for her patients I was able to share some past trauma that was driving me to self destruct,I was on my way to recovery, the meals are great chef Steve,Brian and the pastry lady are amazing. The rooms are spacious, and clean the Gym is state of the art,The BHTs are the best Shameka,Tara, afeez, nurse Amanda her saying O mylanta always made me laugh.Trust me if you are ready for a life changing experience go to Recovery Village Cherry Hill.If I missed someone charge my mind not my heart ❤️ If I could recommend anything it would be an alumni speaking program. Thanks Recovery Village

BEST FACILITY! Out of all of the treatment centers I could have gone to I'm so glad I chose this one. The facility is clean, the food is amazing and everyone is so nice. I wouldn't be alive right now if it weren't for the nurses, doctors and my counselor Josh. There were days I got mad over something stupid, wanted to give up and leave but a stop at the front desk and Tina, the ray of sunshine, made me feel better. The Director is amazing. I've never seen anyone work harder and she will help you with whatever you need. No place is without its hiccups, other patients complaining, etc. but this place will forever hold a special place in my heart. I keep my completion coin in my pocket so I never forget to take it one day at a time.

Staff was great. Definitely is a place I would recommend to any one who is willing to take that step in their life. I learned a lot of great advice we and education advice and ways to understand our situations. We were also able to have fun during the recreation class we played volleyball botchy ball and the inside gym was amazing. I meet a lot of people I could relate to and felt comfortable with sharing my situation and the advice I got . If your in active addiction take the chance you won't regret it.

I had an amazing experience at chrv. The counselors, therapists, nurses and bhts are exceptional. I was very blessed to have a very diverse group of clients that got along very well during my stay. The sessions were very interactive among peers and therapists. Nothing was force fed. They encouraged me to think for myself and were very patient with me because honestly I was a lot to handle. The only reason they do not get a five from me is admin left a lot to be desired. Once I was in boarding, I could not get to see the Dr. They even told me I missed a drs appt I didn't know I had, yet was 20 feet away from their office in class. My disability claim was not completed until 6 days from discharge. I have several examples of such incidents but I do not want to take away from what I learned there. The way everyone on the floors, bht's, nurses, therapists and counselors showed absolute care, love and compassion. I would love to send shout outs to all the people that helped in my journey, but there are so many on every level I would be afraid to miss someone. I know there are a lot of choices as far as detox's and rehabs, you would not be disappointed in the care and experience you will get from chrv!!!

One of the worst facilities I’ve ever encountered. After transferring from an amazing facility (RCA), to recovery village I was unmedicated for over 2 weeks. I told this to the staff every day and they did nothing about it. Finally, after week three, I was able to see some sort of doctor, which didn’t prescribe my correct meds. One of the staff members overdosed another patient on an anti-depressant that he wasn’t even prescribed to. He was rushed to the emergency room. I just can’t even explain how unorganized and unprofessional this place is. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

I just recently was a patient in RVCH, I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is struggling with any type of addiction or substance use. The entire staff from the medical (nurses and doctors) the BHT’s & the counselors you couldn’t ask for better people! They treat you like family and treat each individual with respect and they approach addiction and addiction behaviors with directness and great understanding. I spent 60 days at this facility when I originally went in there for the 30- day program. It was honestly a sad day when I departed from everyone at RVCH but it was time to start a new chapter of my life. The food was great and the facility was clean! 10/10, 5 stars!

I have been speaking with this company for 2 weeks. Arranged admission and was given specific information about my co-pay for insurance. FOUR days prior to my admission they increased my copay by about $4000 (more or less), Bags are packed and now they want more money, I spoke to Amara, Allyson, Jessica over a 2 week period. I spoke to Giovini yesterday who confirmed my admission on Saturday April 8, 2023. Received a phone call from Jodie who said sorry we want more money.

A wonderful place to get better. During my stay here I was surrounded by kind and wonderful staff, including BHTs Mike, Lori, Avi, Chantae, and Tia. I especially loved my primary therapist Brandi, who helped me every step of the way providing support and guidance when I needed it most. The nursing staff was also amazing, particularly nurses Matt, Alex, and James. My case manager Deqa was very attentive and always communicated with me to reduce my anxiety around work. The food by chef Steve was always great and he knew EVERYONES names before we knew his. The community of patients was excellent and understanding, like no other people I’ve ever met. An all around wonderful experience, I honestly did not want to leave when it was time to go. Thank you all so much for everything. This was the best decision I ever made for myself.

IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS, I WOULD. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE WITH COMMUNICATION. MY BF HAS BEEN IN THERE FOR 3 WEEKS ALMOST AND THE STAFF NEVER TELLS HIM I CALLED TO HAVE HIM CALL ME BACK. THEY JUST SAY "WE WILL HAVE HIM CALL YOU BACK AFTER DINNER AT 5:30PM" AND THEN THERE IS ZERO COMMUNICATION. ONLY ONE NICE MALE STAFF MEMBER, I BELIEVE HIS NAME IS MATT, ACTUALLY GAVE HIM THE MESSAGE TO CALL ME BACK ON A TUESDAY NIGHT AT 8PM. EVERYTIME I CALL THE EXTENSION FOR NURSES STATION, IT RINGS FOR 30 SECONDS AND GOES TO VOICEMAIL. DISGUSTING NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONES. EVER.
