The
staff
on
reception
were
lovely
but
we
decided
not
to
stay
after
checking
in
and
finding
the
accommodation
was
shabby
and
run
down.
It
didn't
feel
clean
and
no
care
had
been
taken
to
make
the
room
presentable.
The
bedding
looked
like
it
had
been
thrown
on
in
a
rush,
towels
on
the
radiator
untidy
and
one
had
a
stain.
The
bathroom
floor
tile
grout
had
worn
away.
The
light
switches
and
plug
sockets
looked
like
they'd
been
taken
off
and
replaced
by
cowboys.
The
area
outside
the
lift
on
floor
two
was
a
mess,
a
hole
in
the
ceiling,
writing
on
sockets,
exposed
units
making
it
really
unattractive.
Felt
more
like
a
car
park
than
a
hotel
lobby.
The
hallway
and
stairs
carpets
were
in
need
of
a
clean
and
the
main
reception
felt
bland,
unwelcoming
and
in
need
of
some
finishing
touches.
I
noticed
a
fruit
machine
in
a
room
off
the
reception,
is
this
a
spa
hotel
or
a
working
men's
club?!
Very
tacky.
The
spa
area
felt
unclean,
the
person
on
the
desk,
though
not
unpleasant,
wasn't
overly
welcoming.
We
were
provided
with
towels
which
had
been
scrunched
up,
no
robes
or
slippers
provided.
The
ladies
changing
room
floor
had
large
puddles
and
trash
from
other
guests.
The
pool
had
a
plastic
cup
with
orange
peel
and
sweet
wrappers
floating
in
it
and
the
jacuzzi
smelt
strange.
One
of
the
showers
was
leaking.
There
was
a
wedding
on
and
I
noticed
the
red
carpet
was
threadbare
and
very
faded.
I
don't
know
if
it
belongs
to
the
hotel
or
a
venue
dresser
but
if
that
was
my
wedding,
I
would
be
mortified.
Overall
we
felt
uncomfortable
enough
to
leave
minutes
after
arriving.
I
got
the
vibe
that
the
poor
staff
members
are
used
to
this
kind
of
complaint
as
they
were
sympathetic,
apologetic
and
offered
us
a
full
refund.
We
by
no
means
blame
the
staff,
we
know
how
stretched
the
hospitality
industry
are
but
the
hotel
owner
and
management
should
consider
investment
in
the
building
and
some
training
for
staff
on
how
to
present
a
4
star
hotel.
