The
food
and
service
was
very
disappointing
here
and
I
wouldn't
recommend
Smugglers
Cove
based
on
my
experience.
The
service
was
so
slow
and
it
took
us
over
2.5hrs
from
when
we
arrived
to
leaving
and
we
all
only
had
2
courses
and
2
drinks.
Getting
seated
on
long
benches
when
my
parents
are
nearly
80
wasn't
comfortable
for
my
parents
and
they
wouldn't
move
us
to
a
table
with
high
backed
chairs,
even
though
they
could
have
done
so.
It
took
about
30
minutes
before
our
first
drinks
were
received
which
added
to
the
early
frustrations.
A
couple
of
mistakes
were
made
with
the
food
orders
for
a
family
of
8.
Not
good
enough.
I
had
the
pea
soup
with
bread.
The
bread
was
already
in
the
soup
and
it
was
so
small,
it
was
literally
two
mouthfuls.
The
soup
itself
was
OK,
but
there
wasn't
much
of
it.
At
£6.95
(£7.65
with
service
charge)
it
wasn't
good
value.
For
my
main
I
had
fish,
chips
and
peas.
The
fish
and
chips
were
both
deep
fried
and
overcooked.
The
peas
were
on
a
tiny
round
'bowl'
about
1.5
inches
in
diameter
that
were
gone
in
3
mouthfuls.
The
large
bowl
the
meal
was
served
in
was
impractical.
At
£16.50
(£18.15
with
service
charge)
I
wouldn't
say
it
was
good
value
either.
I
drank
two
Madri.
At
£6.25
(£6.87
with
service
charge)
this
is
probably
about
right
for
a
restaurant.
The
premises
are
beautiful
and
the
highlight
of
the
visit.
The
service
charge
is
written
on
the
menus
says
it
'may
be
charged'
in
tiny,
light
writing
so
you
can
hardly
see
and
doesn't
even
quote
the
figure,
which
is
10%.
This
is
very
sneaky.
Be
transparent
re
service
charge.
Parking
is
difficult
to
get
nearby
and
is
quite
costly.
