👍👍 We were looking for a place to eat while on a road trip, and we were driving through Peoria. We found this place and glad we did. We prefer to support smaller local restaurants and not big franchises. We saw this had multiple locations but still looked smaller and locally owned. The location is nice... People often mention good, breakfast, great, service, wait, staff, nice, experience,

We were looking for a place to eat while on a road trip, and we were driving through Peoria. We found this place and glad we did. We prefer to support smaller local restaurants and not big franchises. We saw this had multiple locations but still looked smaller and locally owned. The location is nice and welcoming, the service was great and the food was good with good sizes for the price. I really like that they put a little different spin on some food. We'll definitely be back when we're traveling through the area.

Ordered the Deconstructed Guacamole- one of my favorites! Usually fresh - full of chunks of avocado 🥑- Nope - 2 tablespoons of pre- made “ mash - mush “ served - practically liquid - Ugh - Our waiter wore his mask on his beard - We loved this place but will not be back for awhile - maybe they can get back to Fresh and yummy Update : had a wonderful breakfast here today - service , food 10/10

The food was delicious. The only bad thing was the wait was 20 minutes. But, otherwise it was a good experience.

I love Childers. You can tell the food is good quality. I was sad that they ran out of oatmeal today, but the breakfast burger on gluten free bread was fantastic! I love crispier hash browns; but they were still really good. Our server was nice but could have checked in on us a little more.

The biscuits and gravy were not very good. Very strange flavor of gravy unlike any I’ve experienced with biscuits and gravy. Untraditional. Pumpkin spice latte only had pumpkin spice syrup in it and was an up charge of $.75. Didn’t taste very good. Great atmosphere. Enclosed porch with heaters would have been ideal. Great interior, nice staff! Breakfast was average. I’ll stick to my hometown diner for breakfast. Lunch options looked good. I’d come back at a different meal time.

Popular restaurant in Peoria. This location in Junction City has a large seating area and a covered porch on two sides for a great outdoor patio. Friendly service. Fresh kale juice and very tasty quinoa chicken bowl with avocado and kale pesto. Small serving sizes, so order accordingly.

Should rate 3.5 stars. All meals I’ve eaten here have been good, some great. Breakfast is their strong meal, but be warned that some items such as biscuits and specifically waffle (ordered chicken and waffle once) are dense and heavy opposed to light and flaky. Menu variety leans toward healthier, fresh food choices, gluten free and vegan choices, but also includes items like “Food Coma.” Pictured in this review is Lemon Berry French Toast, which is light and refreshing. House blend coffee is a bold/dark roast, but flavored creamers are available table-side and specialty coffee drinks are also available. Wait staff is usually friendly but not overbearing. Atmosphere however is loud, so meeting for an intimate conversation can be difficult. Factoring all these things, menu prices may seem high, but quality of food makes up for it. Therefore, consistently above average, a solid 3.5 stars.

This used to be the best breakfast place in town. Sadly, the quality has diminished considerably. Our most recent carry out order is a sad example. The food is never ready on time and additions, like avocado, are frequently not included. Multiple times I have had to remind them about drink orders that were forgotten. The food is hastily and sloppily put in the containers. It is often cold or undercooked. The bacon we received was basically raw. It’s honestly like the employees just don’t care. And some of the younger ones are frankly pretty rude. Eating there is a marginally better experience, but expect to wait over an hour for your food. All this for probably the most expensive breakfast in town. I had family visiting in town and suggested eating there and was embarrassed by the end for recommending such a subpar experience, especially when the bill was as pricy as it was. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Childers Junction City has been absolutely one of my favorite places in Peoria and I always recommended it to friends and family. The food, service, and atmosphere had always been outstanding. It was with the same expectation that I brought my friends to this place recently. Unfortunately, during this visit, our waitress made a series of unsettling errors that make this experience a disheartening one. Despite explicitly requesting that one of our meals be prepared without meat, the dish was served with meat regardless. Also it's utterly inappropriate for the waitress to complain about the tip amount in front us. This not only made us feel uncomfortable but also demonstrated a lack of professionalism that is uncharacteristic of the service quality we have experienced at Childers in the past. I understand that occasional lapses in service can occur. However, it is my sincere hope that you take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to reevaluate your staff training and service protocols. I hope we can visit again without worrying about our order and how we will be treated.

Holy moly does this place do breakfast right. The staff is friendly, seated quick even on a holiday, but the food... The food is amazing. Sweet or savory or both? They got you. Gluten free? They got you. Healthy options? They got that too (the tropikale smoothie is especially yummy). Highly recommend.

I took my visiting sister there after a two mile hike at Forest Nature Park. We sat outside. A nice breeze, great food, it was perfect.

Server was great and kept checking on us. I had the best Denver Omelette ever and I loved the fresh squeezed orange juice. As busy as they were, we did not have a long wait for our food. Will definitely go back.

Childers has become my normal breakfast place with my son! Incredible food that’s always consistent and even better staff that always have a great attitude. I’m normally a one dish person at restaurant but I’ve enjoyed trying different dishes throughout the menu and haven’t had a mediocre one yet. Keep it up!

Very good food. Sizable portions. Very attentive wait staff. Reasonable price. One of the best places for family dining in Peoria. Highly recommend.

Always one of my favorite breakfast spots, but they can get packed during weekends and there’s not really space for you to be waiting, with the weather being so ugly outside they need a little space for us that go in and have to wait 20+ mins with babies/kids. Food was okay, I had steak & eggs and pancakes and everything was cold by the time it came to the table. Staff are very nice.

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be my absolute favorite but anymore, it just feels grubby and dingy. They need a total overhaul. We had a 25 minute wait but half the restaurant was empty. The wait continued after we ordered and our food came out cold. No one finished their meal. We just wanted to get out of there.

A family favorite for brunch and the staff are always so friendly and delightful. I enjoy the options the menu have to offer. The chai is a go to and the mascapone toast is now a new favorite I keep trying to recreate at home. My husband loves the baker's breakfast with the traditional offerings. I try to pick new a different option on the menu because they all look delicious. We have never had a bad experience here.

Childers catered my daughters wedding on 10/1/22. The food was excellent. The servers were awesome! We were ahead of schedule and the were great about serving early. They kept us informed all night of everything. I would highly recommend them!

I just had a tasty breakfast of eggs, sausage and hashbrowns. Unfortunately, they did not have any fresh squeezed juice on the day of my visit, but they were willing to accommodate by knocking the price down a bit for the concentrate style juice. The server was very friendly and the environment was clean and pleasant. Next time I'm in the area, I may try a more eclectic choice from their menu.

Really great spot for at least breakfast items. Haven't had non breakfast items so not sure but their breakfast is really good. The place was nice enough. Nothing special but I did like the plants & ivy covering the walls. So that was 1 part that was above the regular. I had the chicken & waffles & while the waffle was one of the better ones I had (soft, fluffy yet big & filling) the chicken tenders were just ok. They add bacon to theirs & it was good bacon. Nothing too special but better than average. But the waffles. I tried some of their specialty churro waffle & that was fantastic. Also tried their French toast & that was really good. Fresh fruit, cream, and a wonderful lemon syrup. I also had their biscuits & Gravy & those were great. Above average & maybe some of my recent favorites. The biscuits were flavorful & soft & the Gravy was delicious. The other people in my party were also happy with their meals. They have some interesting items & they all look good. They had a caramel apple cider mimosa on special that was really good.

The customer service was excellent! I expected a wait at 10AM on a Saturday but surprisingly there wasn't one! I loved the spinach artichoke Benedict and would've given 5 stars if my meal came without egg shells in it. I lost my appetite after finding that crunch and pulling it out of my mouth. Hopefully they're more careful with how they prepare it in the future. But overall a good experience with decent food.
