I never write reviews but this was necessary… Officially had the worst food experience of my life… came here on Sunday 18th June and never have I been more disappointed. Was my first time here in a couple years with 3 friends and we were all left bitterly disappointed. The “hot” chocolate was Luke warm and not only was it 5 sips big… but had to melt the chocolate ourselves… the vanilla milkshake tasted like plain milk, the banana milkshake tasted like a real sour banana, the choc brownie milkshake tasted weak… the overpriced dessert pizzas were cold and stodgy and almost inedible. The 4 of us easily spent $160 combined and we left with almost all of it still on the table. Not happy. Majority of the staff members looked like they had zero enthusiasm to be there and couldn’t look like they cared less about their customers. Definitely not worth the hype nor the money, and we all left feeling bloated and quite sick in the stomach despite having barely touched our food. Safe to say we will not be returning ever again.

👅 Taste , sweet sweet sweet, I order dark chocolate but is still too sweet for me as dark chocolate naturally has a more bitter taste than milk chocolate, but even I order dark chocolate still taste like milk chocolate. You definitely enjoy it if you love sweet, but if you’re going for the chocolate taste and not only about sweet this is not a good place 👀 Hot chocolate, literally like Hot water a bit of milk and melted chocolate. Um... Not my cup of chocolate tho. And it’s not a small shop so if you need more people to work just hires more people instead of letting your customer to wait super long. Great, fast and freshly served desserts with Excellent atmosphere. Nice personal Family sitting area inside and outside the shop. Good experience with Very welcoming and friendly staff. I come to this restaurant every time I visit south bank Brisbane or to do shopping on Parklands market. I ordered hot chocolates and few other sweets however could only grab pictures of few before they were finished. I must appreciate that the management has done an excellent job for creating a welcoming atmosphere and has created great consistent flavours as well. Overall 5 star experience. Was super busy but the line moved well. Staff were amazing and apologetic for the wait but it really was not that bad. The fondue for two was delish and well made. The eating area was as clean as it could be with the volume of people. I'm in a chocolate coma now ...

Hot Dark chocolate is very sweet, I believe the staff have try their best but the recipe of dark chocolate need to change! Shouldn’t add the syrup in the dark chocolate that destroys the flavors. The location is really good, and the shop decorations style is very lovely. But we all know if you open a chocolate shop the main product is chocolate!!! Really wanna give the hot dark chocolate one start…..

Not as good as I remember. Asked for 2x lemon Mint granitas, I got one perfectly made and the other one was very liquidy. The one in the pic was re done as I asked for more ice, but still just added lemon juice and no more mint. Chocolate milkshake tasted just like milk and vanilla ice cream with hard chocolate on the bottom. Even though it wasn’t crowded for a Saturday lunch time and with enough staff, dirty dishes were still sitting there for a bit more than an hour. Unfortunately a disappointing experience.

Omg what a place to visit. Chocolate is the best.. love each time when I visited this place.. what ever you order, you will not go wrong. This is a place a person must visit at least once..

I ordered a cappuccino, I’m normally very picky with my coffee and I must say it was strong and enjoyable, the waffles were good too, love the ambiance and the service was quick… I love coming here!

Horrible Coffee Experience ever I had. I have paid for Cappuccino in a cup and this is what I have been served. I will advise whoever read this comment to tell the Barista twice because they have language issue and rude behaviour otherwise no value of your hard earn money!!

This is a dessert shop recommended by a friend. The location is perfect and there are always a lot of customers in the store. Hot chocolate is delicious. Recommended.

A wonderful welcome to Brisbane. After navigating the hot streets for what felt like hours the cooling nirvana of Max Brenner was a balm to our sweating bodies. From the generous help to the exquisite chocolate strawberries; life truly can’t get any better.

Had morning tea here today for our 43rd Wedding Anniversary. The service and friendliness was excellent. David the manager added something special to our order after asking about our plans for the day. Thank you David. It’s people like you who make the world a better place.

Had such a lovely morning! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were even lucky enough to be offered chocolate samples and encouraged to ask for hot water refills for our tea The food was so good! Crispy but soft waffles with the silkiest chocolate ever. Not our first visit and DEFINITELY won't be our last! Wonderful experience all round!

My fav stop whenever I'm at South Bank parklands. This time we tried the chocolate souffle with ice cream. Yummy! However, coffee were a little underwhelming.

Very disappointing visit last night (8th of April). We went to farewell a friend leaving Australia, only to find dirty tables, leftover food, and dirty dishes from previous customers. We politely asked a staff member (male) to clean our table (one of the long ones inside). He hardly replied and, with a bad attitude, ‘cleaned’ half of the table, leaving all the dirty dishes on the other end. Following this, we respectfully asked another staff member (girl) to clean the rest of our table. We were treated to the same bad attitude as before, and she only took the dirty dishes, never returning to clean the table. The cherry on top was being served a milkshake in a chipped and cracked glass. I was very dissatisfied; if you have tables for customers to sit and eat at, the least you can do is clean them properly as soon as customers leave. And I’m sorry but I discard chipped/cracked crockery in my home and I do not expect to get served in them when I go out. We paid a surcharge for the public holiday to staff with a bad attitude and an understaffed and dirty place. I don’t think I’ll be back.

This place is amazing! David and his staff are so nice. I really recommend it.

The restaurant allows for meals and chocolate based dishes. All types of meals and decorations made with chocolate. We bought chocolate for take away. Worth a visit, I would suggest going there after a day in the sun at the pools.

Really nice hot choco. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, not surprising this place is becoming popular amongst locals. Beautiful range of treats that are not overly sweet and a menu that is continue to expand each week. I will be back

Good dessert place if that's all you're really after. We got the fondue as well as a hazelnut cake. The line to order was very long and took a fair while to get our food. When we got it, it was nice but a little overly sweet. Don't go too late at night as it seems to get really busy after everyone's eaten and goes there. Makes for a cute little spot to go for a date too

Max Brenna has the most delicious hot chocolate and amazing desserts with so many options. It is a lovely place to enjoy a sweet treat after a day out in Southbank.

Great selection of sweets and hot chocolate best I've had. Great place to top off your night after a meal somewhere. Waiter great and service friendly.

Had a two tiramisu variety. One tiramisu cake and a tiramisu pancake. Both dessert were so sweet and delicious. Feels like I’m in heaven while I’m eating this two food. Loved also their very dark hot chocolate.

Innate chocolate lover here from Perth. First time visiting Brisbane and first time in Max Brenner. Blown away by the quality and the variety of dishes served. Nothing short of Superb. Tried hot and chocolate fudge brownie sundae and loved it to bits❤️

The great dessert is here, decent portion, remarkable taste, and inexpensive. A lot of choices for dessert and drink. Very fast service. We'll be back again soon 😊😊😊
