A nice tourist place. Maitri Mantri was closed so we only saw it from afar. There are various places where one can click pics. All information is displayed. I did not quite like the food and drink.

Very excellent place to visit. during Saturday , Sundays much crowded here. Big trees, natural air, good shoping centers are available here. For indians, the price of products selling here is too costly. Pickup and drop vehicle available from entrance to inside.

Be ready for a good walk of a km and a half. Would recommend carrying a water bottle but please don't litter. There's some cafes midway for a quick bite and some souvenir shopping.

Must place to visit of you are in Puducherry. Pls wear shoes as ther a long walk to the dome. Also carry caps, umbrellas or ponchos. There is a bus shuttle service next to the cafe so ask for the ride. Walking is fun so take one side walk to come across natural beauty and flora and fauna. The video is a must watch at the information center. Do pls ask for the literature of the place. It is amazing. The book store and the boutiques have a very good herbal products. Collections of garments is also worth the buy. There is a cycle tour available at a cost.

Nice and calm place. History and concept of Auroville is so inspiring. Entry for this place is totally free but parking charge is Rs. 100. Do not depend on Google map as it is showing hardest route, after reaching toll speak with local guys to know the route. Golden glove is located little far from information centre. They have free bus service or you can walk. It is better to walk as it has green environment on the way to Golden globe.

There are some shopping venues too...things which have been prepared locally..with very good quality...but I find that bit of costly...but the products are unique in their own way...a lovely place to visit for.Well photography wasn't allowed inside that's y... these are some pictures of outside

It is a decent place to visit. You will not be allowed inside the auroville globe but you can go till the view point and experience the marvelous structure. You can rent a cycle or use their bus or even take a walk to the view point. If you get a chance to definitely visit the place.

Good place to spend a day alongwith family or friends. Good amount of steps to walk from parking lot to the center. Parking lot is good enough to fit a fleet of cars. While coming back better opt for the free bus service to restore the spent energy and eating joints available to replenish at the point the bus drops. Nice spots for photo lovers to halt and create memories to their mobile galleries. Peaceful atmosphere with lush greenery.

If ur in Pondicherry, visiting Auroville should be first on ur list. Due to Covid restrictions u r allowed only till Matrimandir viewing point. We rented a bike, and after a 16km ride from Pondicherry reached Auroville. Park ur bike, collect a visitors pass, walk for about 10-15mins through a tree filled path that’ll lead u to Matrimandir. Spend half hour admiring its beauty. Head back, grab something to eat at the various food stalls. And call it a day .

No words can describe the greatness of this community. I really feel we has humans are tend to have peace and constantly search for it the same motto goes with this ashram, no cast, religion, race etc. Everyone leaves as they belong to one community which is human life.

A lovely place to visit with family and a must do while in Pondicherry! For me was especially nice to renew memories of our school trip ages ago! Has several eating places dishing out the regular and some interesting and unusual fare as well. All in all a lovely place for a family picnic, but to really get a feel, you need to spend time and stay at the Aashram!

Nice place to visit. Lots of greenery. One needs to walk for about 1.5 km till auroville mantrimandir. The walk is enjoyable. Matrimandir inner chamber is closed post corona. But the surroundings are serene and awesome. A must visit place in Pondi

Calming environment but due to Covid visitors aren't allowed to enter beyond the viewpoint. Need to walk 2+ KM to reach it, van service is available when returning for free.

Very nice, calm nature full environment. You need to a kilometre and a half so be prepared. Temple looks good but you can't even visit near it. Maybe due to covid but no visits inside from 2 years atleast now. Also pretty far from City.

A very peaceful place. Information about Auroville can be had here. Has paid parking facility. Car parking charges Rs 100/-. From parking you need to walk about five minutes to the information centre. Here you will get pass to see matrimandir. There are canteens around information centre where you will get different food to cater to different tastes. From information centre shuttle services operate to matrimandir and those who find difficulty in walking may make use of this. There are clean restrooms close to the information centre.

Felt very down.. Making people to walk Unnecessary to reach the globe.. From parking to globe place is very less in distance but they making complicate to reach the globe place.. Seems like their intension is to buy something in their shops.. Elderly people and kids felt very down to walk the distance.. Also very disappointed - They not allowed to visit the Mandir inside, not allowed to see the globe nearly too.. They keept one view point within there campus to take photos that's it.. They not allowed people to see the globe very closely.. Rental bicycles are there but it's only for people who stays there not open to all public.. Inside they have some clothing and hand made products they have but Rates are not affordable.. Since those products made by the people who stays there. They can keep the price affordable to gain more people to visit.. If you are eager to walk you can visit this place, Elderly people and kids will feel bad when they walk during mid of the day..Wasted my 3 hrs.. Positive Points: For the Persons who staying and doing meditation will feel good. They Providing one way Free bus service to drop people from globe to entrance.

This is truly a divine place. A treat to you soul and mind. One will find around the Mother Nature . Well maintained. They have information centre to learn the history of the place. Canteen and shops are near to information centre to treat your taste buds. Do try their organic icecream parlour we have tried all flavour since we were 8. In numbers.😝 Shuttle service is also available if you running out of the time which ll take you to matrimandir, a golden globe. Restrooms were very hygienic. Kids enjoyed a lot as lots of greenery and explore different bugs. Overall experience is so relaxing.

Nice landscape and calm and peaceful atmosphere. While part of the property / infrastructure is well maintained, another part is clearly visible and needs more attention. Overall it was a good half day spent here. The art gallary and shopping center has a good collection of interesting stuff. While they are certainly over priced, the quality appears to be good. I did make some purchase and quite happy about it. View of the Matrimandir is beautiful and certainly worth the walk to the view point.

The matrimandir complex is very scenic and has lish greenery on campus. However there is limited opportunity to visit the actual temple from inside. Rather you are relegated to the Matri Mandir view point only. There is a free bus service available from the visitor centre to the viewing point but no clear instructions are available for the same. Overall I think it is an average tourist spot, would be better if access to the actual temple is increased for common people.

We visited Auroville to see the Golden Globe. If you are planning to have an entire experience of the place it is advisable to stay there for a few days and roam around in a bicycle. If you need to enter inside the Golden Globe, you need to book prior through their website. There is no entry fees. But you need to ensure the date of arrival in Pondicherry to be mentioned in the website should be one day prior to the date of visit to Auroville. Otherwise your application will be rejected. There was entry fees. But nominal parking fees will be charged.
