Pirin National Park is an absolutely stunning place to hike and be immersed in nature. The trails in the alpine are clearly marked and well maintained and the huts around the park are wonderful to stay in. There are many trails to choose from and peaks to climb. Beautiful lakes, crystal clear streams, stunning mountains and breathtaking views Pirin is genuinely one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Perfect if you want to visit just for one day or spend several nights in the park.

Liked the slopes and facilities, even though everything closes a little early. Beautiful nature, Ski passes are reasonably priced. Can get a bit too busy on some days, but overall a great experience. Keep in mind that driving might not be your best option on a busy day.

Pirin is perhaps the most breathtaking mountain in Bulgaria. It has steep Alps-like rocky slopes which one can't get enough of. I visit Pirin every summer and every time I look at Vikhren and his neighbours I get goosebumps.

Gorgeous place, perfect in all seasons, but best in winter with skiing and snow!

It’s a really nice place to ski but not that organized. They can do a better job in managing all the people that get there in peak season. It tends to be really crowded so you need to be patient with the lines to the gondola. But overall good value for money. Great for beginners.

Maybe the most beautiful mountain in Bulgaria. Even though it's a national park protected by UNESCO it cannot be protected from Bulgarian foolishness and mafia's greed. Conditions in huts are awful and the service is beyond any description. Hotels in Bansko are already deep into the are of the park and the ski resort does not give a cent for the preservation of the nature being destroyed by human activities. But if you can cope with those the nature is magnificent and high in the mountains you'll find the tranquility and feel alive.

Beautiful, in late June the soil in many places is till wet because of the melting ice. But it’s stunning and offers lovely hikes.

Nice place to be in the heat of summer and with cool mountain air in the shade under the tall trees, 1600m altitude. View from the ski lift up to the park is fantastic but access by road looks to be possible if heights or cost are an issue (lift is 24-30 Лв person for the whole day). One place to eat - very good food and friendly service; with clean toilet areas. Worthy of a visit if staying near Bansko.

This was one the highlights of the trip to Bulgaria. After arranging a taxi ride via our hotel, which came to about £9.50 for a 45 minute drive, we enjoyed an amazing tours of bears that had been saved from animal cruelty. This park works incredibly hard to protect the welfare of the bears and this made the experience unforgettable. Also, the gravity ride was brilliant (although a bit dear compared to average prices- working out to be £6.90 or 15 levs).

Pirin is renowned for its 118 glacial lakes, the largest and the deepest of them being Popovo Lake. Many of them are situated in cirques. There are also a few small glaciers, such Snezhnika, located in the deep Golemiya Kazan cirque at the steep northern foot of Vihren, and Banski Suhodol. They are the southernmost glaciers in Europe.
